Please, please help, as above I asked how to move my boot drive to another drive as the drive was failing, as I had no answers or pointers I scoured the net and found some instructions, I have done all of the below in the thought that I was only copying and not altering my existing system...
Hi,
Hopefully someone can help and point me in the right direction, my boot drive which was all that was spare when I built this is a 320gb drive, it is now failing, if I have to restart my nas box it can take 40 attempts to boot it as the drive struggle to spin up, I need to clone this off...
So if I present my volumes as I have been doing as thin provisioned LUNS if I then move all out of the data from within the drive in a VM or with Virtual Centre and then delete the LUN the space will still remain used on the pool? THere is no way to get back the allocated space?
Hi Gea,
Thanks for the quick reply, there are no snaps,
Pool is 3.6tb 10 369gb
There is only 2.7tb allocated via thin provisioned LUNs, the luns are only using 1.7TB, as above only showing 78gb avail and appears to show 5.24 Allocated?
I think I have a problem with the reported space as below my pool is showing 78g remaining
The ZFS is showing 2% remaining with 3.49TB being used
However I have only allocated in ESXi
2.7tb and there is space free on the drives
The LUNS are setup as below
How can I fix this, as...
I think I spoke to soon on this one, today I needed to migrate a VM no matter what I tried I was unable to do this, I know it may have nothing to do with the removed status, but that will always be there in teh back of my mind when I have any problems, to that end I am in the process and...
Thanks, trying to secure an m1015, bizarrely I built a all in one lat night and pass-thru the perc o check the disks were ok and the the perc had no such issues, thanks again for looking
Version 0.9a7 nightly Feb.15.2013, I have been accessing the drives without issue, but am nervous about continuing to use them, is tere anything I can do to reset the status?
In need of some help as belwo my disks in the disk menu of napp-it are showing as removed, I have rebooted to no avail, the data of the drives is completely accessible? Is it possible to reset the stat so they are read not showing removed
Thanks in advance
Thanks I set this up exactly as you said and it worked perfectly, however there seems to be an anomaly, when I let the iscsi flow over the management card the transfer rates to and from the san are significantly better than using a dedicated route and card, these are identical nics as well, so I...
Thanks I have made the changes as in the pics
and
However adding the host ip either the 10.0.0.x or the 10.0.1.x the luns are not detected on ESXi as in the the screenshot below
Have I set it up correctly? Napp-It has 2 nics
Ok I have taken some screenshots of my setup
http://imgur.com/a/SfUs5#0
Please can you advise if this is correct? the 2 nics on subnet 10.0.1.x are plugged into the vlan 10 on the physical switch
Aldo getting the licence error as shown im the last pic? I never got this on my previous...
On the VM San assign network card to the san network? By this do you mean allocate the ip in the same range as you then go onto say allocate ip to same range, in my san I have 2 Vmxnet3 one on the management subent so I can hit the Napp-it gui, the other assigned to subnet of the of the newly...
Just to clarify I add a another vmkernel to my existing Nic with a separate LAN subnet? Without assigning an additional spare card it will all be routed through the primary nic without using an additional Nic, I was looking to do this so that the esxi not hosting Napp-it would benefit with...
Long story short, I had a physical server running Napp-it, unfortunately this got wiped out by an electrical fault, this was setup as follows
Physical Napp-IT Server 3 Nics 1 for management 2 for iSCSi, the iSCSi was a separate subnet and was part of an iSCSi vlan
ESXi Server 1, 2 Nics 1...
