AMD Releases more Carrizo Details: AMD's ISSCC 2015 Presentation

What about Beema though it has half the tray price and is better than Haswell i3 in pretty much everything except single threaded perf. I think Carrizo will wreck Core M(eh) even at idle consumption. Intel's 14nm node was talked up big time when the time came however they seem to have just...

    Kaveri benchmarks(?)

The first few tests except AES are a draw sort of but due to the decreased floating point performance all those benches are lost. (AMD's plan is to get those on the gpu in a later stadium of HC)

The panel is 120Hz capable so are the Tcons combined(yes mutliple) but the 16 lanes of VX1 are created by the board and are derived from a high internal LVDS stream big bummer if you ask me. But we have these kind of tcons hooked up to our panels too but only FPGA's can drive them and Thine...

Sugested specs for 39" 4k panel on alibaba.

The -I board has LVDS so that would be the one you would want. (the other might too but those click connectors aren't nice to work with until you have them produced by someone else)

Sugested specs for 39" 4k panel on alibaba.

Well it seems like it should do if you'll be running it with LVDS I don't know how good those cultraview boards are but I figure they do as good as any board with a Mstar 6m40 chip (which is quite good but limited by the HDMI input in this case)

It is the same panel so it is limited to 40Hz by LVDS limitations

That has a expensive panel while this does not but 300 dollar is a really good deal

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

I have the V390DK1 panel here but I have a different Tcon hooked up to it which is a lot like the V390DJ1 Tcon but 2 of them each powered by 4 lanes of V-by-one -> 4 channels of LVDS. I'm going to cross my fingers and see how deep the rabbit hole goes with 1.4 it won't be the first time they...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

I see I tried to go that way but I didn't have a 4 channel LVDS transmitter laying around. I however yesterday received the schematics of a v-by-one board which I will be ordering it is a 8 lane board but there appears to be a 16 lane board in the make for a AUO panel (8 lanes for the CSOT one)...

Wait you mean you are using a TMDS interfaced Tcon with the Innolux panel (the ones made in 2008) I wanted to try them but couldn't get my hands on one is it any good?

Sugested specs for 39" 4k panel on alibaba.

Well otherwise you would have to be very very close to the display to have the effect of the higher density screen. It sounds doable and there is actually a thread about high density laptop screens together over at OCN. However Gsync only has like 1 board compatible and is still using and FPGA...

Sugested specs for 39" 4k panel on alibaba.

For you since you're specifically aiming for a more regular monitor it would be best to just stay with LVDS and thus the standard Tcon. (The rabbit hole goes very deep and making it harder on yourself for no apparent reason will only cost lots of cash and wear you out) Next thing you need to...

Variable Refresh Rate Monitors (G-Sync) --- Refresh Rate Varies While You Play!!!

I can't give credit to companies like Nvidia for pushing proprietary stuff it should be universal for other cards that are not Nvidia

Sugested specs for 39" 4k panel on alibaba.

We are working on this already as in me and a couple others. Todays Tcon's can't do it but I have a board on hands that can but it isn't certified yet. All I need is the VX1 transceiver board which is hard to come by to give you an idea of what the internals will looks like. Transceiver: DP RX...

    4K 60 Hz Scanning Backlight TV/Monitor - Panasonic TC-L65WT600

I figure HDMI 2.0 still being 3 lanes so with the clock patcher you should be able to do it with current cards. It indeed sucks what sucks even more is that unless they double the speed per lane on the DP standard we will be running 2 DP ports for 120Hz(at least) 10.8Gbps on a single lane is...

    4K 60 Hz Scanning Backlight TV/Monitor - Panasonic TC-L65WT600

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

The LVDS bandwidth will bottleneck you they will therefore use a different Tcon making it not compatible. I don't know what kind of sorcery they did on the 65 inch panel to get 60Hz over it but the Tcon is seriously buffed and won't be compatible with the 39 inch model unless you cut that buff...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

It'll be replace and replace both. The 65 inch models are actually capable of handeling 60Hz over FPD-LINK but the 39 and the 50 inch can not with current Tcon's. I've been in contact with a firm named Sigmadesigns they might be able to get me a VX1 transceiver so I can test my Tcon.

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

120Hz is doable on the 50 inch depending on if it has 2 hidden unused ports the 39 inch might to. I figured the 39 and 50 inch used the same Tcon well it turns out they do in fact use the same chip but the 50 inch has 4x 81 to pnael where the 39 only has half that. Which is strange considering...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

I'm sad to inform that the 39 inch model's mini lvds interface is only 2x 81 pins instead of 4 x 81 pins. The 50 inch panels however will be pin to pin compatible. I'll strip down the monitor gurther tonight hoping that the other 2x 81 pins are just hidden. So with a longer ribbon that you can...

New LG 4K 'Cinema' Format 4096x2160 Panel Now In Production

Vega is correct though higher density is always nice since you can go ultrasharp for entertainment and do pixel doubling for work (like the macbooks do) Of course there is the human factor which differs but little people can make out the difference at a higher distance.

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

It is rather rubbish indeed and there probably isn't much headroom. The reason you can't see the classic LVDS cable one would expect is because they have used LVDS flat cable (they are ribbon cables kinda like IDE/PATA cables but with twisted wiring) On thing you should never do is just...

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

The V500DK1 panel's Tcon is the same as the one on the V390DK1 and it is LVDS. PS: I received the prototype Tcon yesterday all I need now is a v-by-one transceiver board. THine won't work with me so any one willing to help me with that I would appreciate.(without corporate email and a bag of money)

    Seiki SE50UY04 3840x2160 50" TV ($1300)

Ouch even lower well it at least fixes the problem for now. I'll get stuff in tommorow to fix my screen also a simple LVDS board which should suffice for testing the Tcon (but not as a whole as it is only dual channel) Best case senario the Tcon takes it all the way up to 170MHz on each lane...

    AMD Sez

Still the AMD drivers are currently better than what Nvidia puts out. as I just said up to 314 was great then 320 WHQL's crashed nearly everything then might have killed my 570 (I calculated the chance of the card dieing that week was less than 1.5% on average and more fermi cards died that time...

    AMD Sez

You can't do much better on the same node a new design needs the node it was designed for or it will be a total gtx280. Current AMD drivers are better than Nvidia's latest couple of drivers it went downhill big time after 314. Before you hang yourself after using that 4870x2 again you might...

    AMD Sez

Well they did so with a smaller die actually if you would cut down gtx780 to what is locked you'll still end up with about ~480mm^2 minimal. And this could beat the Titan therefore the ~430mm^2 card could beat a ~535 (Titan with locked parts cut off) which on the same process is a great...

Just bought ASUS Z8NA-D6 Dual LGA 1366, doesn't boot

Mine is still going strong after 3 years though you should really put a fan on the northbridge it runs hot as hell. too bad I run e5520's on them upgrading was more expensive than getting a new platform with cheap ES procs.

I used windows 8.1 preview with it and it was certainly smoother than windows 7 but the true reason I switched was due to 8.1's superior DPI scaling.

    Asus unveils 31.5" 4k Monitor

Nvidia has fixed profiles for a single on MST but can only run 3 monitors so 2 wont work. You should wait for the HD9970 (they are gonna name it something as in R9 280x according to rumours) I would say you only need 2 since I run 40fps 4k UHD on medium/high settings with little AA on a single...

    27" 1440p vs 4k

Going by a 10/25% increase in performance per gen for al remaining releases on silicon with a few that shall yield more. 4K UHD is only 4x 1080P which a lot of gpus can already handle nowadays.

    HDMI 2.0 officially announced: 18Gbps bandwidth, 60fps 4K, 32 channel audio

Though we will probably laugh about that considering we have years before it drops and it will start at 30Hz. 1080P has had a consumer run of like 5 years (please don't point out the 1080i half refresh a second stuf :D) Considering tech will progress faster we might be looking at a 3 year...
