I had this problem once. It turned out to be hanging b/c of something I had plugged into a usb port. An external drive I think. But mine was just hanging forever, if you have the missing or corrupt files message you probably burned a bad disc.
You can still get Windows 7 on Sager laptops if you order from Sager's website directly, but they're on the high-end side.
I just ordered one actually. I chose the option to 'upgrade to W8 later for $15.' In case I ever find a reason to upgrade..
I've had the best success using gparted. It's a linux application, but they have a version you can boot off a disc.. or you can use any Ubuntu Live CD b/c it's one of the default applications on there.
You could use a live disc to boot up and read the HD, copy off your important files, then...
I've been using the latest with no problems. Core i7-930. I don't have an SSD and the source and destination are the same drive. Perhaps it has a problem with one of those things.
I agree with this guy. I'm a software programmer (proprietary applications) primarily, but I do some web programming on the side.
I've used Joomla and Drupal. Joomla just feels backwards and annoying compared to everything else. If you're only ever making one website, you might finish faster...
