I'm currently transferring over all my files from my old NAS into my new HP N40L with four ST4000DM000. No errors so far, but I think one of them is making some kind of noise when starting up, however I haven't yet bothered to check exactly which one... There is a NAS version of the drives...

How is the top ODD slot even an issue for people? I didn't even notice it until I read these last pages of the thread. Not sure if it's been suggested before, but why not make a small piece of plastic that you can clip on in the inside of the case that perfectly lines up with the hole for example.
