God help me, I'm getting the itch for a system upgrade again. The machine currently sits in a Corsair Obsidian 450D case, which I like quite a bit and would like to keep. When it comes to CPU cooling I plan to go with one of two setups: a 280mm AIO cooler attached to the front with the fans set...
And naturally, the only response the developer can give which won't piss someone ELSE off is to say that romance won't be part of the next game.
The cynic in me wonders why they didn't see this coming, since I'm 100% certain the storyline for the DLC was written before the game was released...
So the big questions now are:
* Have the QC procedures been fixed?
* When will cards that have been made post-fix enter the market?
* Will the post-fix cards be identifiable to consumers, via new model number, box labeling, etc?
* Will the cards that were made during the problematic QC process...
"Take on Amazon"? Unless he plans to open up a gigantic online store, I'm not sure how he plans to deal with Amazon. Is he planning to try and force them to offload their entire profile & payment system to his service? Good luck with that.
Thanks for the preview guys!
My general take so far is that since I play at 1440p, I can do just fine with my Corsair 1080Ti in the games I'm currently playing. What's going to be interesting is when I want to play games that have DLSS or Ray-Tracing support, I'm very curious to see how those...
That's what I was wondering. I know that chip has a tendency to run hot, but I have no idea how much heat the igpu generates, and it if it would create enough extra heat to affect the overclocking threshold.
I'm looking to do a new build for my "utility" PC, which won't need any significant graphics horsepower as it's not a machine I ever sit in front of, I just access it through VNC. And I got curious about the i7-8700K. The onboard graphics are fine for what the machine's use will be, but from...
I'm currently using Corsair ML fans in my machines(the non-LED Pro versions, I try to avoid making my PC look like a car from The Fast & The Furious), both for the case fans and I replaced the radiator fans with them as well. They generate a fair bit of noise when running at full blast, I never...
When did they start adding footnotes for the claimed performance improvements giving the detailed specs of the machine used to measure those improvements? It's a nice bit of transparency that I'm glad to see.
I doubt it would be enough of an upgrade to justify ditching the K65 Lux I've currently got, but I've always found the Logitech lit keyboards intriguing. I really like how the Romer-G switches don't bleed light under the keys, I think it's a much better aesthetic than Cherry's LED switches.
I've never really understood the appeal of an on-keyboard volume control. It's off in the corner of the keyboard, so if I want to use it I'm still taking my right hand off either my mouse or my typing position, and at that point it isn't much farther to the speaker sitting on my desk to turn the...
The Avatar sequel project has gotten so bloated, I don't think anyone's going to care by the time they start getting released. And a new glasses-free 3D would likely mean a whole new set of hardware for theaters. Which means most theaters will stick with the 3D tech they have, given the downturn...
I replaced the fans on my H105 with ML120's, and I use the Asus AISuite3 software to control them. So far I've been pleased. They can provide plenty of cooling without generating much noise, and at full speed they don't really bother me. I actually use the ML series for both my radiator and case...
With regard to the size of the driver install, one option might be to have a "full" installer containing all the components letting the user decide which ones get installed, and a "live" installer like some other applications use, where it just starts the install process and select which...
Are there any functional differences between the Corsair version of this card and the equivalent MSI Sea Hawk version, aside from the fan used on the radiator?
Definitely an impressive card, though it seems odd that they have you plug the radiator fan onto the motherboard without offering a way to connect it to the video card, allowing the fan's speed to be dictated specifically by the gpu temp.
Stealing signals the old-fashioned way is allowed(though considered by many to be a dick move), but using electronic devices to aid you isn't, I believe.
A fair point, though the 300A deserves at least an Honorable Mention. Getting that chip to 450 was so easy you can hardly call it "overclocking". You just set the bus speed to 100 instead of 66 and let it fly. :)
I'm not so sure about the compound being consumed. One of those scientists was talking about a closed-loop hydrogen fuel cell. He made it sound like when the hydrogen was used for energy, there was a water by-product which could then be fed back into the fuel cell. Maybe that just means they...
I haven't decided if the 8+ core system I intend to build is going to be AMD or Intel at this point(I'll watch how AMD's bios issues settle out while I wait to have enough money set aside), but if I go Intel that X299 TUF Mark I is definitely the board I'd look to use. I have a Z170 Sabertooth...
One of the simple things they did with this board which is really cool is they have mounting holes for both AM4 and AM3+ brackets, so AM3-compatible heatsinks/coolers can use them out of the box. It'd be nice if Asus would've done this on more of their AM4 motherboards.
Because more and more gamers aren't playing at 60Hz, they're playing at 144, 165 or even 240Hz. Plus, even at 1080p/60, higher-end settings like increased draw distances, tesellation, and higher levels of AA are still not practical in some games.
I do a bunch of x265 video transcoding jobs on my machines, including two that run largely unattended and have no need for gaming muscle. One of them is running a Devil's Canyon i7 and is still kicking ass, but the other is an older i7-3770k, Ryzen looks like the perfect replacement for it...
I have the Z170 Mark 1, and it's awesome. It's built like a tank, and it's the most stable motherboard I've used. Mine came with a pair of the ~40mm fans to circulate air under the Armor, I don't know why this board doesn't seem to. Only drawback to mine is that the AISuite3 software didn't...
"can't play the full game yet" means it's not done. So it qualifies for the list. I'm so old I can remember when "the full game" is what you actually bought.
