Give them a listen. If they sound good to you and the price is right I say get them. There are lots of non name brand speakers made only for Asia and lots of times they are "other" brand name speakers with just a logo change. The sound is the most important part anyways.

I recently had my main HD die on my HTPC and it was a pain to get all the posters and fanart back agin since I have over 32GB of stuff. Totally sucked scraping all that info agin.So what I did with my new XBMC install is to export all the artwork, posters, banners and fanart back to the folders...

What I use..... HDD 1 has 1 folder titled.......MOVIES A thru E inside that folder all movies are in seperate folders......The Abyss (folder name) Inside that folder is.... The Abyss.mkv folder.jpg (The Movie poster) fanart.jpg (nice background/scene from the movie) NFO file for the movie...

Nice job.....but I wouldn't put that much effort into a "Bedroom" theater. I would definately have to use that cash in a dedicated home theater.

My friend has one that does the same thing. Funny part is he can copy any amount of files when it is plugged into USB 2.0 slots. Absolutely no problems (besides being slow) with USB 2.0 slots.

Honestly I would just upgrade and get new speakers. They use a "Rare" 7.5" driver that is super hard to find. Polk never even used that size again. My google Ninja skills are nat that good or I would try to find them for you.

It won't be in my livingroom. it will be in the room opposite the TV in a closet. I have a closet that will take about a 6 ft HDMI run back thru the wall.

I just got one of these and it's great. Price is also great. The MCACC took all the guess work out of tuning the speakers and the Network features are also pretty good.

The problem is that I have to run atleast RAID0. Can I run RAID0 inside a FlexRAID set-up.

Yes it was the $249 model. I actually only paid $99 plus around $10 for shipping.

Haven't plugged it in but since it has to run (at a minimum) Raid 0, I don't know if it can somehow be added to my Flexraid pool.

I currently run Flexraid on my media collection. I ordered another Mediasonic USB 3.0 4 bay but instead I recieved a RAID 4 bay enclosure. Is there a way to still use this or am I stuck with mailing it back for the correct enclosure???

Only drawback is I use the Wide Banners for all my TV Shows on that main screen and Moms likes the look of the Posters in Library mode. I will have to get the posters for all those shows and replace the wide banners so she can have it the way she wants. Anything for my Mom.

Just for an experiement I took an old computer, installed XBMC on it and added it to the start-up folder. Perfect!!!! Goes right to XBMC after booting up. I then took and old MCE remote and USB IR reciever, hooked it all up and whalla....everything controlled by the remote...just what I need...

Streaming is just more headache. All shows and movies will be contained in one device so no streaming needed. This is why I am looking at the MC001-XBMC device.

They will use it strictly to watch movies and TV shows. No hulu or any other apps. That's why I am looking at this MC001-XBMC device and leaning towards the one with the Blu-Ray player built in. It seems simple enough and it is controlled via remote so it "should" be just what I want.

I have over 32TB of movies, tv shows, random stuff but my parents aren't going to want to see all of that. 1TB on this device will have more than they will care to watch. plus if they want something else I can drop by and load them up.

Any firsthand experience with this. Does it boot directly into the XBMC main page?????

I essentially want something pre-built (I can just go buy it ready) that will boot directly into XBMC and be controlled via Remote Control.

^^^^^^ Thanks for those tips. I am going to consolidate as much as I can on the 3TB drives than fill up the remaining bays with the 2TB drives. I will eventually move to all 3TB drives.
