Okay, since the risk seems minimal I cancelled the PSU order for now. I will buy a cheap power measure tool to check and see how much the rig consumes in total when pushed hard. I plan on doing VR gaming and messing around in Unreal Engine 5.
Ordered a 1000w PSU just to be safe and to be more future proof for when upgrading more components. Thanks for the replies guys.
Really happy none of you told me the motherboard needed changing!
Cool. Would be awesome if it works. The PSU is a little over 3 years old and hasnt been pushed hard.
Is that risk that the PC will just shut off or that some component will break?
It's been a few years since I bought my PC so I am not sure if the motherboard and PSU will work with the RTX 3090. Also, not sure if the CPU will be a bottleneck here. Let me know what you think.
Here are my specs:
Corsair TX750M, 750W PSU ATX 12V v2-4, 80 Plus Gold, Semi Modular, 6+2-pin PCIe...
The touch screen is automatically disabled at random times after i hibernate or restart the pc it seems. Don't know if i need to send a mail to ASUS or if anyone in here knows what can cause this?
AMD compute and graphics processing leadership through cross-platform open standards like OpenCL and OpenGL.
Neal Robison, senior director, Software Alliances at AMD puts this in laymans terms, saying: AMD and Adobe are working together to help provide powerful solutions that enable...
the way i see it is that nvidia is OK if you dont want to mine, use photoshop or multiple monitors. Also it costs extra but produce less heat and noise..
EDIT: Heres some text source of what i say about Photoshop since so many people deny it below:
AMD compute and graphics processing leadership...
Maybe there is a thread already about this? I just spotted this in my usual pc store tho see pretty amazed obviously:
Eizo 23,5" LED Foris FG2421-BK
1920x1080 VA, 240hz, 5ms, 5000:1, DVI/HDMI/DP
.... i play for fun. i prefer fast respons and fluid movement. mostly all gamers does (i alsogot higher res screen but gaming on it is nowhere near as good - even for league of legends - maybe games like civ and stuff benefits from higher res and even more colors (most games r already too...
a few months ago i bought a 1080p 144hz screen. What is all this 2560 resolution stuff? It seems all reviewers suddenly think gamers use those screens AND HIGHER res???
From what i read the frame pacing issue has been partially solved when gaming on one monitor. I assume having connected extra monitors does not matter as long as the game is just on one?
Or is it totally fixed with or is there minor problem still? Does it work better with the new cards? Thanks
Ok. But i dont just game on it also apps like photoshop and excel. maybe do some recording multitasking also. so there is a good chance it will be pushed to the limit some of the time at least even with good oc..
But im curios what the gains can be. 5%? 20%?
20% more power usage and heat?
Hey. I see alot of benchmark results and MHz achievements with OCing this CPU (Haswell).
But what is the most cost efficient aproache to this CPU? I guess it is just getting the non-k version and a cheap mobo? but will it be enough for 144hz @ 1080p? (last time i bough pc i bought oc hw but no...
Wow. This test shows 7970 Ghz beating the 770 GTX. And even more so when needing more memory for multiple screen setups and needing compute perf for apps.
Considering how long the card has been on the market however I am a little sceptical about it.
Can anyone tell me how much power it uses...
Hrm. I just got one of these. Had not muchtime to check it out before going on a vacation only to check for dead pixels and checking for bleeding. I didnt notice any of those. However the color shift was really bad. Note that this is my first IPS and even 27" 1440p. If i find the same contrast...
I just ended up ordering the screens.
I compared the cards with the 760 sli (msi twin frozr that got gold award here) and got unsure
Crysis 3 is what i ment. sry. Dang wild setup. Can't believe its that demanding! :S
Thanks.
I'd like to be able to play games like Crysis and stuff. But if the other screen will max at 300mb~ it will be ok as i dont mind turning down a few graphical options (considering it will save me $200ish).
Hey. There is a sale here on the Gigabyte 770gtx 2gb. So im considering 2 for SLI but i want to run a 1080p 144hz screen for gaming and a 1440p for wathing movies and work using programs like photoshop and browsers and more simultaneously. I fear ill run out of video memory rather quick...
perfectly true as stated above. i dont know about that spec person but the community has been all smily face when intel or nvidia pulls this stuff every day.
its all fair and its not about bad manners its about optimizing games for the best performance. period.
many mice dont have that problem. my new performance mx has not stickers under it. my guess is that you can get most mice above 100$ and not worry about cheap build quality or your problems with oil.
i had my 1200p monitor connected with vga and i must say it really took away most of the crispness compared with hdmi. I dont know if it may be better with 1080p or something. But I dont think it will be worth buying anything other than the cheapest monitor, unless you plan on upgrading to hdmi...
yes if you put in target of 80c (nvidia stock i believe) it will try to maintain that therefore slowing the fans down when faced with little load or low oc
why get a card that barely can use this generation monitors and tv resolutions? 4gb cost just about the same but most of them arent released yet so thats a problem here at least.
instead of upgrading to intel 6 core i would do some more research and consider amd 8 core wich you can upgrade again soon on the same mobo when the successor is released. the new chip is rumored to boost performance 30%
