Hey guys,
Don't know if someone mentioned this but there is a poll on over at overclock net about the black screens and the memory manufacturer. The OP suspects a link with the BIOS and the memory brand.

I'm curious about...
Didn't buy them yet but already got a lot of the parts for a new water cooled system and ordered the water blocks. Will be quite mad just to put it together and have bf4 stuttering around
Almost bought 2 evga 780 hydro coppers on amazon! Glad I had the patience to wait for 290 results. Now I wonder if nvidia will drop 780s to 430usd maybe?
If you can't find another system to test it in then I would be returning the card since it just doesn't as intended. There shouldn't be any motherboard exceptions.
Best decision is to wait mid Nov, prices will settle and we will see whats available.
780 is tempting, a quality product but the 290x is like a wild card never know what kind of performance mantle will bring
This is interesting as Im also planning to WC 2 GPUs for noise. Please let us know what you chose and the results? :-)
I'm thinking of getting a xspc 280mm rad for gtx770 or r9 280s in a corsair 650d. Think I have to add another rad...
Hey guys I'm also thinking of jumping on a IPS/PLS monitor. From what I understand Qnix has a 1440p monitor which can be overclocked to 100hz? Are there any downsides side effects? Also is the OC a simple procedure.
Right now I'm running a benq 120hz gaming monitor.
[H] should test SLI and xfire setups at 1080p and see which cards can sustain close to 120fps at max eye candy. From what I remember just because a card can run 40fps at 4k doesn't mean it will even reach close to 100fps at 1080 due to many other factors at play.
I strongly support this post! Coming from 100hz CRT CS 1 days it was the best upgrade I made moving to a 120hz LCD. I don't see my self ever going back to 60hz.
On topic, less than 120 fps is very noticeable in FPShooters.
Also, the more fps you aim for the damn crossfire micro stutter is...
Cool, can some of the past owners of 5970 say the improvement they received upgrading to 7970? I'm considering an upgrade soon but probably to the new R9 280x, a 7970Ghz, but It seems to me the graphics card haven't really made big strides last few years.
Thanks for the replies, I think one of the reasons its so rare is due to a low windows 8 install base and this issue seems to started to appear in the last couple of weeks
going to try refresh pc option
Hi,
I hope someone out there will be able to help me out. Just today I noticed my User controls no longer worked when I attempted to delete a few files on a old hard drive
First I tried to change the security permission of the folder and got a strange error under Windows Security "Can't open...
I changed from a CM690 to a Corsair 650D, and the case is amazing! It has a very solid build, brushed aluminium front and the best a slot on top for hot swapping hard drives!!
Ths is interesting I'm about to download the upgrade for my home desktop and then do a clean install on a fresh ssd via the upgrade/clean install. Please post the issues anyone runs into :)
How is the .M version identified? Is there big performance hit. I almost purchased one on ebay. The price on 512gb vertex 4s seems really good right now.
Thanks for the info. Think I'll get at 120hz TN panel for the time being and when mainstream 120hz IPS brand panels come about will do the jump.
If I have some spare cash left end of the month will just grab a cheap catleap of ebay :)
Its really unfortunate there were so few Catleaps were made capable of 120hz :( I think ill settle for a benq 120 hz TN monitor and wait for a brand 120hz IPS monitor to show up
I'm not sure, It just states on every ebay seller that this ATI video card, 5870, and couple of others are not supported. But searching around on the forums it seems people have no problems except BIOS not coming on screen
The responses really want me to just buy one of these on ebay. First can someone help me out and explain the reason why Catleap screens don't support ATI 5970s? Second from what I understood so far not all Catleaps are made the same so it will be a lotto if you get a monitor that supports 120hz...
Where did you purchase one of these? I read that not all Catleap screens can do 120hz and I can't purchase from 120hz.net since I don't live in the states
Anyone tried this monitor with a ati 5970? Assume I wont see the BIOS and the boot screen.
Also can anyone say how it is playing FPS games such as counter strike?
Hi Vega, just read you used to play competitive FPS, CS 1.6 maybe? What screen are you using?
I Could use some advice, non of the TN panels come close to old school CRTs at 100hz. Right now I'm using a Samsung 24'' p2450 or something.
Finally looks like a real gaming IPS screen!

Can't decide to get this screen or the ASUS pb278q. I mostly do FPS gaming. CS.
Great, looking forward to some 1st hand results, can't decide to get this or wait for 120hz ips/pls planels
with some acceptable input lag for some CS :D
This monitor really has me considering upgrading from a TN to an IPS, LG2792D or Asus PB278Q, but I'm really worried about the input lag and ghosting since most of the games I play is CS, q3 and some sc2
ps. I'm using some 24'' samsung with 2ms gtg which I bought 2 years ago and nothing still...
