It really was not worse. Acer has much worse problems and worse QC results, also some of the criticism comes from the fact that Acer is quite a bit worse in build quality, which adds insult to injury.

No. Curved in LG's 34UC97 is the best thing that happened to monitors in a long time. That curvature is amazingly good. It is so subtle, but so important, especially at 21:9 which, on the other hand, is also amazing. The only fail they did is matte AG coating that is simply too aggressive...
