Try rounding off the corners to give it some smoothness. You could rip your shirt if you catch it right... but seriously, smooth it out. Make it look like a retail product.
Make sure the the power connections are in correctly? If the power is plugged correctly, the board would turn on and indicate that something was not right with a beep or lights.
Asus has always had some of the worst technical support. I once RMA'd 3 boards and they down right refused to believe that it was their product. However, I work on computers every day. I know when a board is broken

I bought a raidmax atomic for my fiance and I decided I was going to paint it white. Just do a cookies and cream design. Hopefully, it turns out nice. I will probably have to stick with my case until the market expands.
