So, I decided to take out the guest network. Now I have two 40 Mhz channels (1 and 11) that overlap a bit in the middle but carry the same SSID. My coverage is good and speed is good. Is there a better way than that?

Thanks! I use channel 1 for the main router and channel 6 for the secondary router. The SSID's that are mine are "patnshan" and "patnshan-guest". You can see that there are about 19 AP's in my area, most located in the lower channel ranges.
Thanks,

Hello,
I have my buffalo N450 router working great and have installed a Belkin 600HD as a wired WAP. Now I am trying to fine tune them to get the greatest coverage and throughput. What do you guys recommend in terms of channel selection. Should I try to cover different channels with each...
I checked and I had it router > switch > switch (which I thought you could do??). I changed it to router > switch and router > switch and now it works.
Question though. Can't you stack switches?
Thanks much!
Pat
Hello,
I have my new router up and running. As part of the upgrade, I replaced an old WRT54G I had been using as a wired WAP and switch in my living room with a Trendnet 8 port gigabit switch. I was getting good connection of my TV, XBOX, Blu Ray players through the LAN ports on the WAP...
So I got the router all set up and connected. I haven't had much time to play with it yet. Basic setup was easy, but the documentation is pretty poor on how to use its many features. I have no idea how to connect to 2.4 vs 5 Ghz, no idea how to setup a guest network. Nowhere in the CD based...
So I ordered the Buffalo router recommended on the "help me pick a router" thread and am awaiting its arrival. I have been doing a little reading over at the DD-WRT site and also searched for the latest build for this router. The router itself is not listed. There is some talk about...
The Buffalo you list is going for $59 AR from Newegg right now. The reviews on that site scare me a bit, but at almost half the Netgear 3700 I was considering, I am going to give it a try. I will use it with the two new gigabit switches I bought.
Question, if I do end up needing a WAP with...
Hello,
I have been using my current setup (WRT 100 as router (stock), BEFSR41 (stock) as a switch, and WRT54G with DD-WRT as a wired WAP.
I am looking to upgrade for a few reasons including more range and greater wireless speed. I also need more LAN ports but have solved that by getting two 8...
