Media creation tool. I didn't want to wait for the reservation thing to roll around to update as that could be days to weeks away. Is there a way to update via DVD/USB and still have it convert the product key?
I have a number of Dell Latitude E6510 laptops with Windows 7 Pro that need to be upgraded to Windows 10. I have tried upgrading four different ones and get the same result, which is it error-ing out at a recovery screen.
The strange thing is I can install Windows 10 just fine on the laptops...
Is that going to be enough? He currently has a Core i3 in his laptop and the game is sluggish and choppy. He has Intel HD 3000 graphics. I already reformatted his system once and I just installed Windows and drivers to make sure nothing else was causing issues and there was no real...
So if I get something like this:

Then I have to add the RAM, hard drive and Windows to it and all set?
My mom wants to get my dad a new computer for Christmas, but all he really does is play some online golf game called Shot Online. My initial reaction was just to buy something like this:

I hesitate to buy the next...
I had to set up a new KMS server and have about 350 clients that need pointed to it for Office activation. Does anyone know if there is a method to tell each client what the new host is without touching each machine?
Thanks for the advice. He's not willing to up it from $600. I had to convince him $500 wasn't enough due to the OS. We may end up buying used parts and building that way. Are there any parts that we should absolutely buy new at this point?
Thanks. I forgot to add the hard drive to the list of required parts but you added it. Really looks like the budget will have to be upped though I'm not sure they can be convinced...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
World of Warcraft. Would like to play at max settings while streaming as well.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$600 max with tax and shipping
3) Which country do you live in? If the...
I live near a large city. I just want something that is quality that I could plug into the coax and get digital TV. We have cable in the house but I don't want another cable box. Just want to watch NFL games on my second monitor. Nothing special. Just want a quality component.
Several years ago, our network was established using 172.16.3.0 but was assigned a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 instead of 255.255.0.0 which seems a little odd to me. We have had no known network problems throughout the years using this.
Now we have bought a device and it has been assigned...
Is there a way during the install to setup with a local user account? I seem to only be able to finish if I use a Live account.
If I am using this in a domain environment, do I need to make all my Active Directory accounts become Windows Live accounts?
If I do not have Internet access...
I currently have a website using PHP/MySQL. I have all PHP files containing database access outside my web root for security reasons. I am trying to implement jQuery to make my site a bit more modern but it appears when I make a POST request it only likes it when the PHP files are inside the...
Thanks for that info. When I look at the link you gave me, it specifically states "network attacks, including worms, Trojans, viruses, and attacks against operating system and application vulnerabilities" but nothing about content filtering.
I see this CSC-SSM does that but its not for the...
I am looking for recommendations on a device to put at the forefront of our network, mainly for web content filtering. Our network is currently setup as this:
We have two Internet providers. One for each network that are physically separate except a a Cisco 3560 which is used for...
Well, what we were trying to do was determine which version of Android visitors of our website was using. We can see the version of the browser they were using but not which version of Android. So we figured that if the default browser version was specific to an Android version we could then...
Hello,
Can the built-in web browser for Android updated independently from the operating system? For example, with iOS, a Safari update is released with an iOS update. Apple does not release a Safari update without updating iOS.
Thanks!
I love to use pen/paper and whiteboards for it. Once the scope has been more or less set in stone I use Visio to polish it up if they need something formal. Things can change a lot in the project brainstorming phase so it's much easier to grab a ream of paper and go from there. I draw out the...
Though I probably use it only once a year, I have a Tandy 1000 that my parents gave me when I was 12. It runs on MS-DOS which I could then boot into an OS called Menu Master. There was even an alpha version of Windows 1.0 that could run on it but I misplaced that disk. It was great for...
Basically to make announcements and page people if they are needed. Like I said, right now we are using IP phones which is a huge waste. Would be nice to be able to play pre-recordered messages as well, such as we are closing, etc. We had an issue where we had to evacuate the building and...
Not sure what having a high end desktop has to do with keeping an iPad or iPhone, but if you don't want the devices any more then there is no point in keeping them. Sell them.
I was hoping for a slightly bigger screen but other than that I am pretty happy. There isn't much that can be done to improve phones these days. I am not sure what people are expecting but until there are things like holographic displays then we are going to just get incremental updates from...
The device name column is determined by ARP requests. If the device the router is talking to cannot respond to such requests you will get unknown.
Additionally, I have found a device may have its own NetBIOS name that it will send to the router that you cannot change. My HP printer, for...
I use Namecheap. I moved from GoDaddy because at the time their control panel was a convoluted cluster**** designed by someone drawing the layout with a crayon between their toes.
I currently have a 200GB external hard drive that I've been using to backup the last 12 years of my life with. It's getting full and also old, so I am not sure how much longer I want to push it.
DVD's are not practical, Blu-ray discs are still expensive. What do you think, dual hard drives...
Took a good ol' fashioned emergency yesterday for the powers that be to realize we need a PA system in our building. Looking for something that is inexpensive, preferably below $10K total. We have about 10 individual rooms we'd have to put speakers, then many open areas that would probably...
WoW really helped with my game spending habits. I pretty much gave up buying full games from 2004-2012 outside of expansion sets because I didn't have time for WoW and other games. I used to buy 3-4 games a month for my video game consoles before then. $15 a month for a sub with an occasional...
Damn, that's slightly better price than my employee discount and I already get a great deal. Should I jump or wait? I just can't believe the 2713 will be significantly cheaper like the 2412m is to the u2410.
