i mine LTC not BTC, also crypto prices almost recovered on the btc side of things and if it fell down again it will then later on recover it's just how it is ....
so aside from that this is a gaming rig that does mining on the side ...
hey guys so the reference design cards are kind of hot and loud does it make sense exchanging my cards 2 reference for 2 dual x and pay 140$ total ?
also anybody mining with those dual-x cards ? and how hot are they in crossfire specially the top GPU !
thanks !
thanks man, i appreciate it ...
edit : i've seen your post man, some guy replied that it worked for him !
gonna give it a go if it works, that would be awesoooomme to get rid of the stupid 100% fan on every startup !!
but i see the last point on the curve is not editable i can't bring it down to make the fan "curve" a straight line for "fixed" fan speed
i want to lock the bios @ 30% so it doesn't blast 100% on startup due to faulty fan sensor ...
i already have been running this card for months and months on fixed fan speeds and even mining with it :D
i just want someone to default the fan for me from "auto" to "30%" just to save me the couple of minutes of 100% fan ear suffer before i can select the "mining profile" on startup
i have...
thanks but rbe doesn't work with 7970's
also afterburner still makes my gpu fan blast full speed for sometime even when i apply fixed fan speed to it on startup
it blasts fan full speed till the system loads
one of my 7970's got a dead temp sensor , default auto fan setting makes the fan blast 100% for a couple of minutes on start up before i can apply my quite fan profile ...
that's why i would like to edit my default fan to a quite 30% instead of auto which blasts to full speed on startup due...
i think @ my res latest drivers fixed frame pacing issues, no ?!
so i should not really bother this gen. right ?
please note my 7970's are @ GHz edition clocks and not gonna ever clock higher than this because they are reference design and then heat and noise becomes an issue if i attempt...
somebody here have the knowledge how to successfully hex edit a 7970 bios ?
i want to default my fan speed from auto to a fixed %
please help, thanks !
i'm in the same boat as the op , i have 2 x 7970's in crossfire but i only game @ a single 1080p display and not looking to upgrade the monitor anytime soon....i actually like this IPS monitor that i have now...but i was wondering if it makes sense to swap out my 7970's for 2 R9 290X's just for...
thanks for all of the replies , so the agility drive aside , what would you take the m4 or the samsung 830 or the samsung 840 or something else ? i'm just looking for the MOST BANG FOR THE MONEY - thanks :)
128 GB is not enough ? windows will take like 28GB and what not then you got 100 left for some amount of game installs 6~7 games @ a time are more than enough nobody installs more than 6~7 titles at a time
those 2 ssd's are available where i live for the same price and i was wondering which one is better ? i found those benchmarks online but i don't know which one is better because i don't understand anything about ssds i'm new to them
here is what i've found :
thanks
i once had a 7970 with an ASIC of 57% and it clocked like shit !! 1250mV for 1125 core and it had absurdly high coil whine that's why i exchanged it for a vapor-x edition......
i have a vapor-x 7970 and the only way i can change the voltage is force constant voltage in msi after burner and i thought it might be useful to set the voltage on the bios level !
ok i figured out what needs to be done , we just need a trixx update so that we can control the voltages on "boost" mood cause all the voltage control applications present to date will only control the voltage in "base" mood , the only work around available now is to set the msi afterburner to...
update : forcing constant voltages in msi after burner actually lets me control the voltage on that "boost" mood but atleast now the voltage value actually changes i've put 1.2v and could overclock to 1200mhz core before i could only do 1160mhz @ 1.15v ( yea that's the real value of it's stock...
by the way i just discovered something , any changes on the voltage i make in trixx or msi after burner applies in the -non- boost state and not the boost state which kicks in when gpu is under heavy load !! and i guess that is why i thought the voltage was not changing at all no matter tha...
i tried to flash the original ghz edition bios on it but it just screws the card and make it display messed up information in gpu-z and makes the catalyst stop recognizing it as an AMD hardware if you know what i mean !
