Simple i5 2500K Overclock on Asus Board

It must be in advanced or Manual, it can't be under the power management thing. To check, you would simply be able to see the no. '33' (base clock) or '37' (boost clock), where you'd have to enter '42', meaning 4.2Ghz. Leave EIST enabled only, that's only for really high clocks i.e. 4.8Ghz+ or...

    Q9550 @ 3.8 @ 1.344v

Not it wont. 212+ or Evo are budget coolers. Frio sits just a bit below the D14 which doesn't make it any better than that (esp for the price): http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Thermaltake/Frio/5.html

    Q9550 @ 3.8 @ 1.344v

Fixing Ivy Bridge high CPU temps: IHS removal video

You certainly do have a problem and if I were you, then I'd surely go for it (but again, I surely take my time in this stuff unlike some people on youtube lol). I only hit above 90C when going above 4.8Ghz on my 3570K :p

    H80 - Taunt Cables

Well if the cables didn't pop off during the rigorous shipping, then I really doubt that it would come off while it's installed. Just make sure that they aren't being pulled or are in a tight loop that would put pressure on the end-points and you should be good.

Fixing Ivy Bridge high CPU temps: IHS removal video

If your build is just for gaming, then I'd recommend you get a 3570K as there's nothing that it can't do which a 3770K can. The x79 chipset is basically for those people who wanna do Tri-SLi or 4-way Sli setups as it gives out more PCIe lanes, but you'd still be better more overall features on...
