Holy crap. I think I can feel my brain cell dying here...
Engines are only a single component in generating high fuel efficiency. Claiming that you have a design for a '100mpg engine' is just inane. Engines need to be connected to a vehicle for ANY meaningful measure of fuel efficiency...
I managed to get the battery into place by heating up the warped plastic enough for it to be malleable and pushing the battery into place. It's a bit more warped than it was before, but it's more functional now.
After cleaning things out and reinstalling the heatsink with AS5, I'm getting 73C...
I just successfully used a heat gun on a XT5300T. Unfortunately I wasn't thinking, and didn't pull the board out of the case before taking the heat gun to it. Now the battery doesn't fit, thanks to the plastic being warped.
I tweaked the screw mounts on the GPU side of the heatsink a bit to...
The problem is the sheer number of games out there; without a massive marketing campaign, chances are people will not hear about the game until after it's been displaced by a new title on store shelves. Without heavy advertising, it can take months before people hear about a game from their...
Another load of crap from Sony's marketing team. During the course of my job I service about 25 retail stores that sell PS3s, and not a single one of them has seen a 20gb model since launch.
I think it's much more likely Sony is losing more money on the 20gb models than the 60gb models, and...
Why not focus your efforts on fixing the 32 bit install on the desktop? If the 64 bit install is working fine, it's likely something as simple as a driver update that needs to be done to get the 32 bit install working properly.
There are quite a few of these closing. Checking your local one might net you a couple good deals, but I know my local one has already sold most of the good stuff already.
Costco owns their own Kirkland Signature brand, but it is not a seperate store chain. It's named after the city where they opened their first store (Kirkland, WA).
My understanding is that Dell typically offers some of their biggest discounts near the end of their fiscal year, which I believe is coming up in the next month or two. It may be worth your time to have a little patience, and see if we get another wave of discounts soon.
Pfft. You think you are having a hard time getting into it.
I just bought the game, and I can't register my account because the registration servers are down!
I got a batch of these, and most of them were quiet. There were a couple that whined a bit more than I would've liked, but for 15$ I can afford to throw a couple away.
Grabbed a refurbed AGP Leadtek myself. It keeps freezing up in games (screen stops refreshing, but program continues to run), but I'm hoping shutting off fastwrites will solve the problem. Unlocking the pipes worked fine, but I'm running without them until I can isolate the freezing (in case I...
If you have trouble changing the multiplier in the bios (or you want some spiffy multiplier management in windows) use this http://crystalmark.info/?lang=en .
Crystal CPUID has a great little multiplier management feature that adjusts the processor multiplier based off the current load on the...
Ugh, does this forum need this stickied?
SOCKET A SEMPRONS ARE NOT BASED ON THE A64 CORE.
Now to answer your question, http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/Support/CPUSupportList/CPUSupportList_GA-7VTXH+.htm is the official cpu support list. It includes all the 266fsb chips, which would...
I loved shuffle puck! That and playing Marathon at a whole 5 fps on my old IICi. That beast ran for a good 10 years straight without replacing anything except the floppy drive twice, without any OS upgrades either.
You can also keep an eye out in the hot deals forum for cheap processor/mobo bundles. Outpost (fry's) periodically sells cheap combos (such as a 1.6 duron with mobo) for about 50$. You'll still have to find some RAM and a video card, but it's a decent start.
It's still possible to change the multiplier on the hard locked processors, as long as you're willing to do extensive bridge modifications. I have a hard locked Applebred Duron that I converted to a mobile processor, then increased the maximum multiplier (L3s govern startup multiplier, L6s...
However, it is possible to bypass factory locks by converting the processor to a mobile chip. Doing so is not for the faint of heart, as it involves cutting bridges. (<3 my applebred duron, but it was a real pain to mod)
If you haven't tested these specific boards, they may actually boot the mobile chips at full speed. Either way, you should be able to modify the processor's clock speed through software with a program such as CPUMSR or CrystalCPUID. I encountered all sorts of headaches when modding my applebred...
Since you already have the watercooling parts, why not wait to see how far you can push your 2100+ once you have it installed? If you happen to have a good overclocker, there may not be much gain from a newer chip.
