I remember, at the DFW lan party of 2001, it was announced 3DFX was bought out by Nvidia.
Politics had invaded even graphics cards, and there were Nvidia fanboy FOOLS running around how cool it was that there would be no more Voodoo cards.
My only response was "Do you not know how...
Yup... that was the first thing I tried. PSU is fine. This is the first intel proc I've ever had fail on me... literally... and I've been building these dang things since the Pentium 2. The mounting design of the LGA 1155 is really infuriating... Such a poor design. You have to take...
Sigh... I was playing a game today, and all was fine and dandy with my Asus P8p67 w/ the good ol i7 2600k...
Then all power dies to the system. Doesn't power on. If I disconnect the power, and wait for the green LED on the mobo to go off, I can reconnect, hit the power button, and see the...
So... the 960 is slightly faster... I'll give it that. But, it may just be me, but games seem to take much longer to load. And if I alt-tab out of a game, that's a bit slower as well. I don't game above 1920x1080, and super high details don't mean much
I'm betting this has something...
This is bullshit. You hire the right person for the job. That's it. When you start hiring people to be "diverse," you cause harm to your company.
I worked for a fortune 50 company who decided to hire a brainless blonde bimbo around 25 yrs old, as the manager of our group, because she looked...
I just hooked up chromecast to an hdmi ready tv last night, and within 3 minutes was on netflix controlling through my galaxy S3.
These things are great if your tv doesn't have the ability to natively be controlled by your phone (like new expensive ones do). I don't feel locked down to my...
And of course, the 100 dollar more proc of the time, the i7 2600k builds on top of the i5 with hyper-threading.
I've yet to run anything this processor can't handle and I "only" have a GTX 670.
I was skeptical at first, but more and more, it seems like the low adoption rate of win8 will be...
I know this is an april fools joke, however I *HAVE* washed dirty components, including video cards, let them dry for a few days, and continue using them no problem.
Am I just that good? Just that lucky? I don't know. I can say it works.
Not an April fools joke. If you don't know how...
Heck, if we are going on the amount of times I've been wrong, I would have made a great scientist!
I think the idea is to realize that you might always be wrong, and not to count how many times.
given that Diablo 3 was supposed to be the next big thing, and it turned out to be the great big flop of the 21st century, its fair to say that *a lot* of people are upset for paying 60 bucks for a game in its alpha state.
This card rocks...
EVGA GeForce GTX670 2048MB GDDR5 256bit, 2x Dual-Link DVI, HDMI, DP, 4-Way SLI Ready Graphics Card (02G-P4-2670-KR)
6 used from $351.99
So much... if you're on the fence, its a great deal
If this isn't a pre-emptive strike to prepare for servers losing your info, you being stupid enough not to buy physical media, and thus not having access to your games, I don't know what is.
I have always hated steam - and this is the nail in the coffin.
using windows dynamic disks might really screw things up. Don't use them. Use a real raid controller - even if its just some on board... its still better than a software raid.
The only other game that came close, was the first Max Payne and Half Life single player.
Wow, how I miss the good ol days when fancy graphics weren't used to cover up piss poor game play and story lines.
Nice price... SC2 has tons of replay value.
Now if only they could get Diablo 3 down to 40... maybe get rid of the zero at the end, and you'd have a fair price
Yea, I read that, as well as it not supported DX10 or 11.
Back to square one... Basically it is going to boil down to figuring out how to edit something to force timings on my monitors and risk blowing them up, or living with the 3200x1024 resolution
The mentioned resolution is really...
I just found this...

From the looks of it, I could probably slap my GTX470 back in, and use the GTX680 for two monitors and the GTX470 for one if there is no graceful solution (ie - not spending more money)
I thought of that as well, but it doesn't make a difference :(
For nVSurround to work, what I have to do...
- in the windows display properties, disable all but one monitor
- go to nvidia surround, enable it, and then it will work.
However when I exit surround to get my full 1920x1080 and...
I had purchased the GTX670 to upgrade from a GTX470...
I was lacking one monitor for the three. A deal came on woot for a 23" for 125 bucks.
Done.
And actually, even playing at the gimped resolution of 3840x1024 is a huge advantage and extremely fun in jets in BF3. I'd just like a...

I am using both DVI ports and the HDMI port. I am wondering if using the display port might come into...
The largest bug about Diablo 3 is that its not a diablo game. Its some sort of a mishmash of WoW and ... i have no idea, but nothing about this game is "diablo."
Its sad too... It could have been great, but it looks like their WoW devs did enough sucking up that in the end, they got their...
I was planning on buying a third. However since I'd have mixed monitors, i'm not sure if that is going to screw me. And, it would be nice to just have a left peripheral vision option.
I have a very large periphery and might benefit a little more than the average person.
arg! I don't have a third monitor! Shooooooot...
There really should be a way to trick it into thinking its connected to a third, and render the frames if needed. *sigh*... I don't have enough money.
oh geez... I don't want 3d surround... I don't want 3d at all...
I just wanted 3 monitors for FPS. Ok, well... my previous question still stands - can I use two monitors instead of 3, and only have 1 for peripheral vision on one side of a FPS?
How do you play with 2D surround? I don't see the option anywhere in the nvidia control panel (latest drivers) to enable that... The "Configure Surround, PhysX" > Surround configuration box is grey'ed out...
Both monitors support 1920x1080, although they are different models from different...
Well, it is a supported feature. Will it need be run at lower resolutions? Maybe. Will it need settings turned way down? Probably.
Am I ok with that? Most definitely.
Can someone with experience link me to a cable that won't break the bank? Preferably monoprice?
As I understand it, i'll need a display port, and then use the two DVI's but i'm a little lost there... The instruction manuals from MSI are useless and don't even cover 3d surround, so I fall to...
