Well haven't installed Fan Xpert 2 last version yet...actually I feel so good now that the system is working flawlessly that I don't feel quite comfortable to dive in the tests again! :D
But I'll do it, I don't know when, but I'll do it. At the moment that AIDA option is off as per default.
Thanks for the info! Is the one under "System stability" -> low level SMBus operations?
If yes, I could try with the latest version of Fan Xpert 2 and that option uncheked to see if anything changes. If not, either I'll stay with older version of fan xpert or simply without...luckily my Noctua...
I'll try keeping AIDA closed and not loaded at boot to see if anything changes.
What puzzles me is that multiple polling has never been a problem with other motherboards (mostly Asus in my case) so far. Before this build, I had a P5Q-E with AIDA running at boot with sidebar gadget and other...
I'm using the cpu header for cpu fan, so nothing wrong there. Just like bitgod, I also had the impression that the first version of AI Suite (the one that came in the cd) was more stable. Too bad the update was already online so I updated it very soon, not being able to test.
On sunday I'll try...
I confirm Xyrax fears. After Raja's advice, I reinstalled only Fan Xpert and after a few hours I had the classical shutdown. Hence shutdowns and Fan Xpert 2 (and maybe other AI suite modules) are totally related.
Raja can you speak with the HQ about this? I think we found the culprit.
After several days of flawless operation, I feel quite safe to state that the shutdown problem was caused by AI Suite. Since I uninstalled it, no more shutdowns or reboots.
It's a pity I can't use Fan Xpert 2 (since it was a big plus in making me decide for this mobo...), so I really hope that...
Yes, I also had the newest version of AI suite (the one on the Asus website) and noticed stranges behavior by Fan Xpert sometimes.
I have to say that since I completely uninstalled AI Suite, I haven't had a single shut down as of yet! I'm crossing more and more fingers and hoping it was really...
Yes, I am. I definitely prefer having the AIDA sidebar gadget to be able to always have a quick look at the temps and stuff.
Right now it's been 36 hours of non stop operation...fingers crossed! :D
My update is that initially I removed all AI suite but Fan Xpert and Asus Update, the system run fine for 24 hours, than suddenly shut off.
Then I removed completely AI Suite (cleaning every leftovers in the registry too) and at the moment I'm on 26 hours of operation...don't want to call...
Well anyway I'll try to unistall it and see if it makes any difference regarding the shut down. If not, then I'll be forced to go RMA.
One question Raja: what's Asus RMA policy here in Italy\Europe? Do I have to contact the shop or Asus directly?
And in case it's the shop, how can I prove the...
I'm also using AIDA in parallel with Ai Suite...maybe that could cause the problem as you said.
Raja, are there any chance it could be a software conflict causing reboots\shut downs?
This happens to me too, AI Suite keeps giving me this kind of warnings, although other softwares says the voltages are perfectly normal.
It's important to notice that AI suite gives such messages with bot PSUs I tested the PC with (although it's more frequent with the Corsair HX650 than with...
Vcore Offset to +0.05 and still shut down Raja.
Bitgod and I have a very different configuration, but have the exact same problem. The only similar thing is the Asus Z77 motherboard...if 1+1 makes 2...
Nope...changing the PSU didn't work. Still had a shut down a minute ago.
So: it's not the psu, it's not the ram, it's not the software\drivers...I also guess it's not the cpu. I think I might really consider the RMA.
Raja, I live in Italy, how does Asus operate here for the RMA? What should I...
Just installed a different PSU, an Enermax MODU 82+ 525w instead of the Corsair. Just to rule out more things. I read of many users having troubles with Asus mobos (not only of z77 family) and Corsair PSUs!
Let's see...
Last night I decided to reinstall Windows to rule out any driver\software problem. I also made sure not to install IRST drivers.
Today I went through extensive machine testing, and while testing RAM with memtest86, I found out one module of DRAM is faulty (just one, the other one is rock...
Yes I have it eneabled since the first moment. I always had it enabled and always had (and still have) reboots and shut downs (the last one was tonight, this morning I found the pc shut down and had to turn off the psu). :(
Now I removed the XMP setting and put it on auto, the ram starts at...
Ah! Immediatley after writing the previous post, I got a BSOD saying it was caused by "memory management".
I'll try to stick with just one ram module.
I'm really discouraged :(
Well, all my hopes crashed and burned as this morning I found the pc rebooted to windows. It seems C-states off help in having longer operating times, but don't fix the problem completely.
If I remember correctly, I didn't install IRSD.
Raja do you have news if they're working on this issue at...
24 hours since disabling C-States and yet no shut downs. This gives me hope!
But, in case the culprit were the C-states, than the next question would be: why?? Raja can you give us any info on what could be wrong with C-states management?
Thank you!
Nice to know I'm in good company with this annoying issue :D
Raja said it's not the anti-surge, so I switched it back on. Now I've just turned off C-states. I'll keep my pc on all night long, let's see tomorrow morning if it's still working or not.
Good luck to us! It would be really...
In my case, sometimes the machine simply shuts off and cannot reboot until I turn off the psu, sometimes it just reboots so when I go back in front of the pc I find it rebooted into Windows.
I can't really figure out what it could be. The ram is set to XMP profile, the cpu is at stock speed, I...
Hi everyone!
Same problem here as bitgod and macro, motherboard is Asus P8Z77-V.My brand new pc keeps shutting down randomly, in the exact same way bitgod described. UEFI is 0801 (tried 0906 but same issue, so reverted back to 0801).
The machine works perfectly, no overheating (I keep it at...
