The US version of the SGS III has been released. 4G LTE, 2GB RAM, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 A15-like processor, Super AMOLED HD Screen:

I have a friend who had the iPhone 4S and upgraded to the SGS III. Here are his comments:
The SGS III is much smoother and faster than the iPhone 4S in terms of the UI and general tasks like scrolling through home screens, Internet browsing, messaging, etc
The new notification LED's and...
Processors
US version of the Samsung Galaxy S III = Snapdragon S4 (A15-like architecture)
International version of Samsung Galaxy S III = Exynos 4 (A9 architecture)
Which one is better? It's a close call but the US SGS III with the Snapdragon S4 wins because it has slightly newer...
You can tell I'm not a fan of HTC because of their builds quality issues (their antenna build quality sucks and their Internet 3G/4G LTE speeds are crap as a result). I thought HTC would have learnt from the problems of the HTC Sensation but it still looks like they have a long way to go.
iPhone 5 wont be anything out of the ordinary. You saw how Apple responded to the SGS2 with the iPhone 4S and underwhelmed most people who were expecting something spectacular.
Please refer to these links for details of HTC One X build quality issues and faulty antennas making Internet connections very weak:

Eizo being a small company means their quality control is bad. I'm not sure if that monitor usually makes that noise but it sounds very annoying. I would take it back and get a refund ASAP.
Don't listen to CHANG3D. He's very pro-HTC and anti-Samsung.
Thanks for putting up those links. Seems like most reviewers prefer the SGS III as I would have thought.
Another review summarized in a table:
Do some research please.
The dual core Snapdragon S4 is better. This is because the Snapdragon S4 has 4G LTE compatibility and is based on A15 architecture (though not really officially A15 it is close to it).
Since the Exynos and the Snapdragon S4 are based on different architectures, you...
Yep. It's all about the smooth UI which also offers excellent customization. Also add in the best Internet browser performance and fastest Internet upload/download speeds and you get the best smartphone on the market.
You're a HTC troll. Got a problem with my comment? Argue with evidence, instead of waffling with nonsense. No reviews say that the HTC One X is "arguably better" than the Samsung Galaxy SIII overall. Perhaps the HTC One X is arguably better in some aspects, such as the screen (again very...
I think I asked this before but I didn't get an answer. What is the different between Achieva Shimian and Yamkasi monitors? Is it the 120Hz overclock? Any differences in panel quality?
Well what are you talking about? PLS panels are a totally different market. PLS panels are more for professional/business/photo heavy related work whereas TN 120Hz panels are more for gaming and movies. Pick your poison.
Well you gotta pay the price for quality products. The fact that the SGSIII has the smoothest UI and the fastest Internet download/upload speeds, I don't think it's too expensive.
Totally agreed OP. The SGSIII takes Android to a new level. It is the smoothest smartphone I've ever used, ever. Even smoother than iOS based iPhone 4S. iOS is known for UI smoothness, but SGSIII is even smoother than that.
The SGSIII is a huge upgrade from the SGSII. You have to use it...
Then definitely get the SGSIII. It will be a HUGE HUGE upgrade over the Captivate. The SGSIII has the fastest download/upload Internet speeds, smoothest UI and has no lag whatsoever. It is totally different from the other Android smartphones in this regard, because Android smartphones are...
This is a real problem so I don't know how I'm trolling by just posting this information.
It seems like that you are trolling by accusing me of being one.

The people over at XDA found that the HTC One X has a poorly built antenna for Internet signal transmission/connection. This means that the HTC One X will have trouble connecting to WiFi and HSPA+...
Your top options are the Samsung Galaxy SIII and HTC One X. Look around the first couple of threads on this sub-forum and decide which one is best for you.
Personally the Samsung Galaxy SIII is the best smartphone on the market because it has the smoothest and most responsive UI on the market...
Samsung Galaxy SIII purely because the SGSIII has the smoothest and most responsive UI out of all smartphones on the market.
The HTC EVO 4G LTE is good however I heard the menus and home screen still lags and doesn't feel as smooth.
The Internet browser on the HTC EVO 4G LTE sucks as well...

EDIT: The US version of the SGS III has been released. 4G LTE, 2GB RAM, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 A15-like processor...
The Samsung S23A700D uses the best panel out of all 120Hz TN monitors. Color quality is excellent and responsiveness is top-notch.
The ASUS VG236H has the worst color quality out of all 120Hz TN monitors.

Agreed. The Samsung Galaxy S3 4G LTE having 2GB RAM will absolutely dominate in large demanding tasks such as browsing multiple websites, multitasking and other tasks requiring high RAM.
Samsung Galaxy S3 is the best on the market now. Nearly all pre-orders US versions of the Samsung Galaxy S3 start this week (5th June for Sprint, 6th June for Verizon, TMobile available at stores on 21st June). Not sure about AT&T but I think they said "soon".
In terms of the features they have...
Well 2GB RAM means better multitasking capabilities and more responsiveness. When smartphones went from 512MB to 1GB we saw a huge performance increase. I'm sure 1GB to 2GB will be just as big since most smartphones which were released in 2011 can't multitask very efficiently.
