I don't think I'd have a problem with one of the "type" keyboards, but I'll agree that the touch keyboard leaves a bit to be desired. A friend has a 128GB Pro now and he retired his laptop already. Of course, he's using the type keyboard as well.
I'm looking forward to this, honestly. I've held off on the first generation of Surface Pro, but I'm going to watch the second gen very closely. I need to replace my old laptop and I don't really want/need another one. Desktop and tablet are my future.
I might even try to convince my company...
I'm just curious if anyone out there has actually had an SSD die on them from writes? I've recently upgraded my work laptop with an SSD but I've been hesitant to do my home desktop, for the longevity issue.
Or since this is the [H], maybe I should ask...has anyone actually kept the same SSD...
$250 dollars happens to be my sweet spot. I still game on a single screen and only recently moved up to 1920x1200.
This is shaping up to be my perfect card. Of course, we're only months away from seeing what the HD8000 series has to offer.
According to Sapphire's product page, it will be 1536. I'm not sure where everyone got the 1280 that has been reported in many sites. I'm also liking that it will have 6GHz memory.

I'm interested to see a review when this hits the streets. It sounds like it could be exactly what I need to ensure quality gaming at 1920x1200 for the next couple of years.
I'm running an HD 5850 and I've decided to wait for the 8000 series. I just upgraded to gaming at 1920x1200 and the 5850 is still pushing the games I play at acceptable levels, so I'm in no hurry.
I fit into this category. I'm still running an HD5850 and it's fine for the games I play at 1920x1200. I will upgrade once the 8000 series comes out. Then in another year I'll upgrade my processor/mobo/ram. That's just the most sane way to do it in my opinion.
Your motherboard could also have been damaged by the repeated reboots with the old power supply. If it was that bad off, there's no telling what kind of voltage spikes it was spitting out.
I was curious, so I went back to the XFX HD 7950 BE review and compared OC to OC results since the cards are now priced identically. Unfortunately, the only two games in common are Battlefield 3 and Batman, but here are the results none the less:
Keep in mind that the 7950 is shown from a...
I have read the other articles and in the OC article the overclocked 7950 beat the overclocked 660Ti every time but once. And that once was in the heavy tessellation of Batman at 2560x1600. We all already know that the Radeon cards don't do as well with tessellation, so it's almost expected...
I don't understand why you didn't match the GPU clock speeds between the 660Ti and the 7950 w/Boost. I can understand your statement that the architectures are different and that they both do things differently, but still on GPUs speed is king. We've been getting away from that on CPUs, but...
I'm with you on that mid-range price lament! I'm still running an HD5850, great mid-range card for its day, that was $249 at release...I wish I could still get that bang for the buck.
Let's see, how can I benefit from an ASUS GTX 660Ti DirectCU II? Well, it would replace my existing ASUS HD5850 DirectCU which has been humming along at an overclocked 825/1150 since new. This card has actually managed to live through three processors and two motherboards, going from AMD to...
I'm looking forward to the comparison of all the overclocked cards in an apples to apples form. Going back and looking at the XFX 7950 Black Edition overclocked results makes the 7950 look like a better buy once both are overclocked. Especially given that you can get 7950's now for around $320...
The 660 in whatever flavor it is finally released will be matched with the 7870/7850 and not the 7950. There's no way nVidia would further crowd that performance range.
Well, I decided to do a bit more reading and apparently you can fix this a couple of ways. The first option is to not overclock with CCC, but download and use MSI Afterburner instead. The other option is to create a profile in CCC then modify that profile's xml file boosting your idle core...
The only way known to stop it is to turn off your overclock, unfortunately. It's something to do with the newer drivers and the 5850s. I haven't seen reports of this on other 5 series cards, but it may be happening to them as well.
Are you running multiple monitors? I have this issue when running multiple monitors in extended mode, but only when overclocked. If I turn off my overclock all issues go away.
I've seen other people mention it specifically related to multiple monitors on the 5850 and overclocking.
Oh, and if you want to use your USB drive for the time being, just use Robocopy. With the right switches it can mirror a source directory or you can just configure it to continually copy to the destination and never delete any data on the USB drive.
Look into the Buffalo Terastations. I've deployed a few at work and they are priced well enough for home use as well. Nice configuration options, backup capabilities and media server options.
Buffalo LinkStation Pro
If anyone remembers shortly after release, there were articles which were amazed that BioWare didn't follow the standard pattern of a massive layoff immediately following the release of a new MMO. Every other developer in the past has reduced their staff dedicated to a particular title after...
NickJames posted a couple of charts, but not the one I wanted to see, so I made one up. The review, as always was excellent, but to play devil's advocate for a minute I wanted to point something out.
The review, even in the overclock session, is using the numbers from a stock reference...
