Yes. Total upgrade: $300 Amazon has 4690k for $239, which is the same price as the 4670k. Unfortunately, it's not a 4c/8t CPU. Would I be better off looking into AMD 6c/8c? I really want to get away from them if possible. I feel like I can do better.

I'm in USA. Budget = >$300 for this upgrade.

I don't care so much about overclock. I run a Hyper 212+ with Bitfenix fans, so I'm going to be somewhat limited there. As soon as I realized the 4690k cant run 8t, I drecided on the 3770K for more threads. I did screw up, though. The 3770 is $100 more than the 4690k

What about the 3770k Ivy bridge that's the same price? is there any advantages or disadvantages?
