LOL. If it wasn't for my app, that I'm using for work (stock market analysis, daytrading) I'd be on Linux. I know you can load windows under linux, I guess with Vmware. I guess that wouldn't change anything in performance? My app would still do multi-threading the same as if it would run on...- pthegr8

thx all 4 ur replies. I kind of figured it all out now. I found the "powernow" settings in Bios, and got all cores running at max. 15multiplier, 200Mhz Bus speed; 3ghz core speed. the Microsoft patch helped a bit as well. however I figured out that my app does certain things on only one core...- pthegr8
