It is largely due to the fact that most LED backlight units are opted for mass quantity
instead of quality, only a few medical grade monitors consist of japanese-made BLU units
from Nichia.
Also it is worth noting that the color calibration would not solve the problem.
Even after...
There are a few differences between them. I suggest you to take the closer look at their sRGB Emulation performance, especially Max ΔEab and AverageΔEab back to back.
On the contrary, Monitor Calibration is just 1st part of the color management, which is followed by the Characterization of the Color Management Software/Hardware and the Conversation of the Device Communication between the Display and the Printer .

Are you looking for basic preview or advanced print to match functionality?
Legacy 90 Series are in fact suitable for preview purpose, while the current P/PA(Except P221W) have the edge over the previous generation with print to match...
What I can distinguish between PA and CG series is its sRGB Simulation Capability.
On the first glance, they look literally the same.
However, absolute colorimetric values tells the difference between them.
The price is not consistent with its claimed performance, which is still worse than legacy product lines from EIZO CE240W / NEC 90 series. Embedded HW Calibration/16 bit LUT feature does not show huge performance improvement from S27A850D with same panel model.

Found the CX240 preview posted in the Japanese Website called "kakaku.com".
It seems to me a solid product however the price to performance ratio is not comparable to
NEC PA/P Solution.
Please note that "All CX240/CX270/CS230 series" require...
The following white paper may further expand your understanding about the importance of the LUT.

Did you license Spectraview in addition to your PA271W ? Spectraview enables PA series potential performance to certain extent.
I personally have bought montiors from either EIZO or NEC respectively.
EIZO's after-sale service does not live up to its premium price these days, while NEC Customer...
With 14/16 bit internal display LUT (EIZO/NEC) and 8 bit output, what you can get is 100% grayscale on variety of gamma curves.
A few new scalers from STMicro are now available for preview/evaluation instead of mass production.
You may find some new features here...
The Uniformity embedded in SB970 is only available for "Hardware Calibration Mode", which is very strange considering its target customers.
I do not see any features to justify its retail price.
S27B970 does not really stand for its price as well as its performance.
Hardware calibration: Fail
Software Calibration: Fail
For the same price, you can buy 2 X P241W.
Epic Fail Product !
Look up the LTM270DL02 and you will have relevant information about its backlight lifetime =30000 hours, which is roughly 30%-40% less of typical ccfl backlight lifetime.( sRGB LM240WU7 for 50000 hours, P-IPS WCG LM240WU4 for 45000 hours)
If you are still not far away from you computer, you may try this
Calibrator Device: i1 Display Pro
White Point: 0.3127, 0.3290 (Daylight 6506K)
Brightness: 70 or 80cd/m2
Balck point: General values
Gamut Mapping: sRGB
Gamut Curve: sRGB ( Alter the values from LUT to sRGB)
I currently own NEC PA241W and EIZO CG245. I am not employed by Samsung Corp.

Have you tried i1 Pro ?
1. Currently there is no actual hardware calibration support of S27B970 included in numerous 3rd party CMS packages like Basiccolor as well as iColor Display.
2. Borrow two different calibrator devices(Colorimeter vs Spectrometer) and make various tests between these two devices.
3. or make...
Here is the instruction in reference to S27B970D manual. (page 23 out of 67)
Select Only Brightness to perform calibration only for the brightness. Select
Brightness + Color to perform calibration for both the brightness and colors. If
you select Brightness + Color, the color temperature...
There are two major uniformity options in NCE software (Exclusively for S27B970D). The first one is the brightness adjustment. and the second is the enhanced adjustment of brightness and color temperature, which has been the standard feature across many professional monitors.
I highly recommend you to look into the default folders for hardware calibration. Also when the calibration was done, did you get any notice about renaming the preference of the Icc profile?
