You may be able to do what you want, but you'll have to get more familiar with it and try
different filter settings as well as groups.
I don't know if the program would do exactly what you want, even if you pay for it.
You could shoot an email to them and see what they suggest.
Good Luck
My setup is somewhat like yours.
You can run Syncback free version on windows server os if you have version 3.2.26.0.
You can no longer use Syncback free on server edition since version 6 was released.
If you can find version 3.2.26.0 it will install on Server 2008R2 as well as Server 2012...
I'd rather have Hitachi disk to, and would pay a bit more for them.
I've got quite a few of them and their very compatible with the Adaptec
and Lsi cards I have.
I like the Toshiba's to, currently have 6 in raid 10.
This is great news as I thought desktop Hitachi drives were done.
Just found a new line of HGST Hatachi nas drives.
Their available for pre-order at b&h video.
Currently 3 and 4tb models with 7200 rpm .
Can't find any other information on them yet.
I had 2 drives that went for RMA, These drives were purchased in September last year.
I haven't had any more problems with drives from about December till now.
If your disks were purchased last fall I'm not surprised they had a lot of errors.
I can't confirm that the 7 Series cards play well with 3tb reds.
But I have 7 of the 3tb reds on the 6805 card and have had zero
problems.
Personally, I don't think you'll ever see the reds on a compatibility report as
western digital markets these for external nas boxes with run various Linux...
I Just got the 9260-8i and the iBBU07 for it.
This battery won't charge beyond 67% unless I start a manual learn cycle.
Triggering the learn cycle then quickly fully charges the battery then discharges
and starts the learn cycle.
Contacted lsi support but still awaiting instructions, they...
I just picked up 2x2tb 7K3000 disks, but that's putting money into WD hands aswell.
So it's a hit and miss.
Got an email from WD yesterday asking for proof of delivery and the tracking numbers.
This seems pretty shady to me as I'm sure they have the 2 defected drives I sent them
or they...
I spoke with a rep on the phone last night and he didn't have an answer as to why.
The line I called was for rma status checks, not very helpful.
I got an email today stating that the reason both of my red's have only a 5-month warranty
is because they haven't checked the 2 defective drive as...
It seems like I'm the only one posting here lately, but I have some news you should be aware of.
I just received my rma replacement drives today, their new not refubs.
So as usual I went to register them and found out the WD had already registered them but with only
a warranty until February...
Just to let you know, Toshiba 2 and 3tb drives are listed as new arrivals but currently backordered at
a popular website.
It starts with an "n", No not that one the other one.
I called them yesterday to complain because you can buy them now just about anywhere.
They asked me to call back this coming Monday.
Just a minute ago I received to emails from WD stating the my drive had just been registered, what's odd is that the serial # listed isn't mine.
So, maybe their...
I posted here on September 10th. that I had 3 out of 4 drives fail.
I haven't received any replacement drives back from WD.
Is anyone else who might of RMA their drives still waiting?
I just purchased the intel expander so I could setup a backup system in another case as
(Earl H) described in post #8.
So far it doesn't work but it's probably the way I have everything connected.
In the second case I have the Intel expander which is powered by it's own psu using
the 4pin molex...
See Post #310.
I was just responding to it.
I also purchased 4x3tb disks just 2 weeks ago, and of those 4 disks 3 had numerous hardware
and medium errors.
Since Western Digital bought out Hitachi to kill there competition, and now producing hard drives that fail in drove's surely isn't less...
Yes, Areca's cards are premium but with a premium price.
If I managed enterprise server's for corporations I would use Areca controllers.
For me atleast, the Adaptec 6805 is used for my home server and wasn't hard
to setup and run.
It's my first raid controller but if/when I upgrade I will look...
Wow, I'm sure they'll wait for them to fail.
You would think that before releasing a new disk series they would have tested these enough
to find any problems.
Were just test subject to them.
Three of my four drives failed, 75%.
I've had the 6805 with ZMM for 9 months now, it's been flawless.
I have it running 12 disks in 2 raid 6 arrays.
Transfer between the arrays is 300-350mb/s
Just FYI.
I just got off the phone with a western digital rep. regarding my RMA.
They received the disk back on Sept. 12.
They called to say they were completely out of stock on the 3tb reds, and
they wouldn't be able to ship out the replacement until the middle of October.
Not very pleased.
I just picked up 4x3tb reds for storage backup but 3 of the 4 failed in the raid creation process.
As you may be wondering 2 of the 4 are already on their way back to the Eggcrate for refund.
I do miss the Hitachi drives.
Think I'll bite the bullet and go for enterprise disks now.
I'll keep these two and ad two more for my server which uses an Adaptec 6805 controller.
I got these two for a good price when they were on sale.
The Adaptec 6805 seems fine with the Hitachi 4TB disks, so with two more I'll make a raid 10 backup array.

Here's what I have found if anyone is interested.
Intel's Rapid Storage Technology is capable of using hdd's over 2TB but, You must use a motherboard
with a UEFI Bois.

Thanks for your reply,
The 2 disks are connected to the sata2 3gb/s intel ICH10R ports.
Yes, I used the intel rapid storage manager in the bois. (Ctrl+i) to enter.
My P6X58D Prem. mobo is using bois ver. 1501 which is the latest version.
I wonder if it's a limitation of the bois on this...
Hi, recently purchase 2 x 4tb Hitachi hard drives and setup a raid 1 array.
Rapid storage manager only sees 1687GB of the 4TB.
I thought that after they were initialized as GPT drives they would show their full capacity but they don't.
After setting up raid 1 in the bois and booting up I...
After your backups have run and you shut down the second case, how does the raid card react. Does this not set off the alarm.
This sounds like the best way to go but I'm not sure my raid card wouldn't drive me crazy.
Is your 2nd Intel expander powered be a second PSU?
Well currently I've been using WHSv1 for backup of the raid 6 volume and maybe that's the way to go for the short term.
Thanks so much for your help.
