I work part-time for a major retailer for the time being while I complete my degree in computing. Last night I took my tablet & noticed that their public wi-fi is really badly configured (imo).
While on the local public wi-fi I connected to the WAN IP which took me to a Zyxel 660 router (lol)...
So I realised I didn't have one of the cables to the board connected - it now boots fine so I'm guessing the H80 died...
Thanks for all the help here, this forum is great :D
So I got an Intel fan in the post today (labelled i5-2320 LGA1155)
I took the H80 off the board, along with the 2 Noctua F12's that were mounted on either side of the radiator.
I attached the Intel fan connected to the header labelled CPU_fan; now when I try & boot it starts for a second or 2...
I am getting an error on the BIOS screen saying CPU fan error, press f1 for set up. I noticed in the set up that the fan speed shows 'n/a'. I tried rebooting and got the same error as well as an overtemp error. I took the fan off an reseated it but it didn't help.. Note the fan looks like its...

What do you mean check my commands?
What should I be checking in BIOS / hardware config? Note that one day it was working, the next day I couldn't reinstall the OS - no BIOS settings were changed in between that time. I should also say that I tried resetting the BIOS defaults, which made no...
When I switched my PC on yesterday I got an error - I can't remember the exact error - after I few tries I decided to reinstalling Windows 7, the disk was showing as unallocated space & I tried installing but got some other kind of error (maybe I/O)
After some Googling on my phone I got a...
I bought 2 x Noctua NF-F12's & fitted them to the Corsair H70 rad in push/pull
Idle temps are 27-34 but 100% load temps @ 4400GHz are pushing 89 deg - I'm baffled why people here say they get 70 deg under full load & mine is nearly 20 degrees hotter??? :(
Ok so I finally worked out what was going on - one side of the radiator was almost completely caked in dust...
Cleaned it up & new I'm getting 30-35 deg idle temps. I now realise the stock fans aren't really up to scratch so I've ordered 4 x Noctua NF-F12's
Thanks to everyone for all the...
I have speedstep on but I'm unsure what you mean about C States?
At 5% load one pair of cores are around 39 deg, another pair 45 deg, 1600MHz @ 0.968v
At 100% load (approx 1 min) one pair of cores are 85 deg, other pair 90 deg, 4000MHz @ 1.232v
I'm getting idle temps around 44 degrees, after watching some clips online with similar set ups idling around 28 I wonder why mine is so much hotter?
My setup is:
i7-2600k
Asus P8Z68-V Mobo
16GB Ripjaws RAM
Corsair H70 cooling
Antec P180 case
I'm only clocking to 4GHz now
Is this running...
Thanks for this, like you say the 2 Intel ports are working :D
Any idea where I can get drivers for the ASMedia ports? I did a quick Google but couldn't find anything...?
Hi guys,
I moved to ESX 5.5 a few days ago after using 5.0 for nearly 2 years with no problems. Since upgrading (clean install) my SSD's connected to SATA3 ports aren't seen in the vSphere client - I also tried to 'add storage' but no joy :(
My spec is:
i7-2600
Fatal1ty Z68...
LOL, thank you for explaining in layman's terms!!
It hadn't occurred to me to use one of those slots, I thought they were just for graphics
:D
I don't know exactly what you mean by wrong profile size but I don't have a slot which fits this card >> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161089492065?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Hi,
I am looking for a quad port gigabit nic for my vSphere ESXi 5.0 host - I've bought a few nics in the past that haven't fitted (getting confused with the various PCI types...)
Motherboard = Z68 Fatal1ty Gen 3
Any help greatly appreciated!!
I'm running ESXi with a USB 3.0 PCI passed through to a Server 2008 VM - I used this VM to backup all of my files onto a Seagate 3TB Expansion, which worked fine for 5 months +
I had to reinstall ESXi & various VM's - now I have it passed though but Windows doesn't recognise the drive...
Hi guys,
I haven't used this forum much but was hoping for some advice / experience from anyone who might see this...
I built an ESXi whitebox back in March based loosely on Tinkertry's
I am now at the point where I would like to get a RAID card - I would like something affordable...
