I got excited when I saw this thread. My wife (owner) gave me the go ahead to build a new pc for the first time in 5-6 years and looking for parts I come across the great gpu shortage of 2020. Wtf.
Found this benchmark on userbench, First public benchmark I have seen for Vega m. Probably not supposed to be public yet. But, go have a gander. It's looking like 10% less performance than a 1060 mobile.
So has anyone else seen the hp Spectre 360 or the Dell XPS 15 2018 versions from CES? They're the first love child of the Intel AMD collaboration with Vega M.
There are two Vega GPUs incorporated a GH "graphic high" and a GL "graphic low". The GH model is going to be in the new Intel Hades...
How do they go into production so fast if they're still revising steppings. I don't know anything about that but....Does the foundry do all the work? Do they hold them and then just start stamping out the final revision? I don't know how you can go from final stepping to end user hands in a month?
I have an i5 4670k. I think if ryzen is 30% faster at around $300 bucks I'll jump in. Maybe a little more. The auto OC feature is very exciting. Hopefully it's compatible with the h100i.
Provided it's better than my 4670k, yes. I enjoy new tech. However if it's like the 4xxx 6xxx FX CPUs I'll just never buy an AMD CPU ever again. I bought a FX 4100 as soon as they came out for a budget build and it was just complete garbage. I replaced an athlon 64 3400 with the 4100 and I could...
I just turned off vsync and put bf1 to 'low' settings and I'm around 60-70 fps. That's way lower than the performance benchmarks. What the fuck. With my 4670k which is still respectable. That's clearly not going to cut it. It hardly makes a difference from low to high settings. Guess I'll just...
Those are offline probably with a better CPU. I'm going to be playing other games probably also. Titanfall 2 looks good. Just don't know if my GPU isn't pushing above 100 fps is it just going to be worthless. Mostly my question is for someone who's played multiplayer games with a 1060 and a...
I have an EVGA ssc 1060 right now because my 970 took a crap and I sent my friend my old 760 so I had nothing to fall back on.
I am going to be purchasing a 120+ hz monitor soon and I'm not sure if the 1060 will push what I want, in mostly battlefield 1.
Is the 1070 a noticeable difference...
I do have an h100i on my cpu and it runs really cool. I bet I could get a really good OC out of this CPU. I wonder if it's going to fit a am4 ryzen cpu.
I'm leaning towards GPU at this point. However, I don't mind scaling back the quality to hit high fps for some buttery smooth high refresh gaming. I prefer higher fps vs quality. I only play first person shooters so a high refresh might give me an edge with tracking and spotting enemies. But...
If I have 1200 bucks to wank on a PC I'm going to get a 1080 gtx, decently priced mid range i5/MOBO/ram/PSU and then use old or used other components. I don't care what my PC looks like, performance is king. I'd use my old hard drives, any crappy case I can find, whatever monitor I have laying...
Soooo with taxmas looming and the impending release of Ryzen in the coming months I'm looking to upgrade......Something. I'm either going to upgrade my monitor, GPU or my cpu/MOBO.
Currently I'm gaming on:
4670k
8gb ram
1060 gtx
My monitor is some cheap 21" AOC 60hz.
Really interested in a...
For this year's upgrades I really wanted a 144Hz monitor to take my gaming to the next level.
With this I learned that my 760 gtx probably wouldn't give me the output I wanted to get games close to that frame rate to take advantage of 144Hz refresh.
So it's just turned into upgrades...
I was interested in the top one you posted from Amazon but I'd like to keep my whole order from newegg. I'll just find a nice mid with reviewers who have a h100i.
I did look at your list but most are more than I want to pay on a case right now. If my upgrades go over 1000 the old lady will get...
That was just a terrible joke. The woman will be really happy this Taxmas. Plenty of goodies for all.
I've decided to go with a gtx 980. As long as I can keep my order around 1,000 dollars She wont be pissy. Money isn't even a problem it's that someone who's not into computers has no idea why...
I have an h100i cup cooler so I think I'm going to go with a larger case. My Psu is also Not modular and had a ton of wires every where. I need more room in my next case. My current case is so old it doesn't have places to put anything. My h100i is mounted to the top of my case with copper wire...
Funny you suggested the monitor that is currently in my newegg cart.
As for the case I think I'm going to cheap out and get a nnzxt for about 60 bucks, and put the rest on my gpu.
My ram is crap so I got 8 gigs vs t the 4 I have now which I can upgrade later.
So that monitor, a 970 ftw+, 8...
I guess I didn't get the whole concept, anything will work with a 144Hz monitor but I'm not going to see much of a difference if my game is only getting 60 fps. Think I'll go with a good 970. Still have a lot of searching to do for a good Monitor for 300 or so dollars.
If I'm going to get a new video card I want one that will make quite a difference. I've been scouring reviews and benchmarks and a 970 looks like a pretty good bump up....but damn the 980 is shiney and doesn't lie about it's on board ram.
Would a 970 be sufficient for bf4 on a 144Hz monitor on...
Yeah my Sig specs are all wrong.
I5 4670k
F1tality mobo
760 gtx
620w antec psu
8 gb ram
120g ssd
1tb storage
K65 rgb gaming keyboard
Possibly need to upgrade my psu for a 980?
My ram is also faulty So it's running in single channel mode but that surprisingly is like a 5 percent decrease in...
Upgrade season, time to see how I can beef up my pc for the 2015 slaughter.
Will update this if my specs aren't right.
I'm going to be upgrading my monitor and possibly my graphics card So I'd like suggestions for those.
Currently I'm using an evga 760 gtx and I'm not sure what a...
How am i ignoring their opinions? I read everything and take it all into consideration. Apparently i should feel bad for doing what i want? How is my view that terrible? Everything works great so i should send my board back?
Yes I did ask for advice on what was going on with my computer and I...
I did oc it. Just saying thats not the problem. That was two days prior for 5 minutes. Such a tiny oc. Didnt stress it or anything. Just checking out the mobo options. I dont really want to lose my computer for two weeks if this board will be fine after that problem. Evetything is working fine...
I didnt oc it. I ocd it a couple of days ago 200 mhz higher than stock for about 5 minutes. Thats not the issue. I juat tried my games out and loaded some programs. I see no difference. I may just let it ride. Every thing i read says that dual channel vs single is 1-2% performance loss and in...
I git it booted with my 4gb ram but theyre on b3/4. so it's running in single channel memory mode. I read on tomshardware that it'd only be a ~10% performance loss and pretty negligible.
So I guess, live with a tiny performance loss or.....RMA my board and not have a computer for 2 weeks. Ugh.
It seems a1 and a2 memory slots died. So i cant even get max speed out of my board. I cant boot with either sticks in either a's. So i guess im going to jave to rma my board and wait 2 weeks to ise my computer? @%@%#`%@.
I recently upgraded my gaming computer to an i5 4670k, gtx760, h87 fatal1ty mobo, and last night i added an h100i water cooler.
It was working just fine without the watercooler, but my prime95 tests shot the cpu to over 80c at stock. So i added the water cooler and everything was still fine...
As far as ports go i dont need anything special. My cpu will be locked so no oc.
Maybe an hdmi but my gpu covers that. Probably go with the cheaper one. Actually has better reviews.
Picking up an i5 4570 haswell and I need a board to go with it. I have two options that I'm looking at. I don't know much about the chipsets.

I just fresh installed everything from the OS up. Same BS happening. I don't get it. BIOs is reset to default. Nothing installed but drivers.
For some reason it's stating that maximum core clock is 2500 mhz. Maybe that's something I should look into.
The graphics card is getting great scores. No problems there. There's only one driver i've installed for the mobo/cpu. Same driver. Uninstalling it and installing the same drivers isn't going to change anything.
