I would say the 780ti Classy is what you want. Put that under water and you will have a blast. If you want more price performance then the high end isn't where you want to play in, just buy a 290 and call it a day.
I think the 780ti Classified clocked to 1400mhz or more will be the only single card around really sufficient for most games at 1440p. Selling my 2x670 in preparation to buy one.
Got to realize at the same time either of the trackpads can be used at buttons. It's a safe bet that when you click down the trackpad it will record where on the trackpad your finger is. So depending on the game you could use one trackpad for movement and the other for face buttons, as well as...
Well that isn't comfirmed but assuming it's true. How much mantle code will they really want to put in considering it wont translate to the portion of the PC market occupied by nvidia, nor to the linux based steamOS (amd linux support is much worse than nvidia, who knows if mantle will be...
Are people really going to code for this API. OpenGL is supported by every major platform this generation. Why take the development time to create a Mantle version if it only works on windows AMD machines?
I'd sell off probably everything but cpu and ram there. Get a z77 board and a smaller quieter graphics card and stick it in an SG05 or similar case. Can run steam bigpicture and XMBC. Will play all your shows, manga and emulators with a great UI from xbmc and launch steam bigpicture for a...
Yeah unpartitioned, partitioned but informatted, and formatted unpartitioned, and unformatted unpartitioned were tried. Whatever was causing it I couldn't be bothered anymore. Got the OS installed on the SSD and for what my friend is going to install there is more than enough space.
I tried basically everything. First I had it connected when installing windows. Windows created its 100mb system partition on it and windows was installed to the HDD. No luck with that setup, regardless of whether or not I partitioned, either formatted or unformatted. Then I reinstalled windows...
Well I gave up. For anyone else who may have this problem, I think it might have been because I was using a Pentium g645. I'm not sure that caching is supported on anything but the core series of cpu's. But I could be wrong.
I'm in the middle of building a computer for a friend.
Have the OS installed in seagate 2tb and the SSD connected but unformatted.
SATA is in raid mode in the BIOS.
I have the newest intel RST, and the accelerate button will not show UP!
What am I doing wrong here. Ive tried countless...
Anything over 1600 is considered overclocking. As I understand it certain boards are designed to overclocking Cpu and ram and others are not. I would suggest going for 1155. Ivy bridge and z77.
If going for 2011 I would suggest waiting for ivy bridge e and boards with full pcie 3.0...
Also very interested in finding out how these PCIE lanes are allocated. Planning to run 2x 670s + a quad port intel NIC, and PCIE x1 Soundcard on the Maximus V Formula.
Can I take a quad gigabit NIC like this and plug it into a PCIE 3.0 x1 slot and expect to see full speed? (Using ribbon or PCIE slot modification) If I'm reading the PCIE 3.0 specs it should be able to support even a 6 NIC card.
pfSense will be running out of a VM on ESXi, Virtualization is another one of my interests and something I will be going to school/taking certs for in the future.
I'm probably going to invest in a managed switch anyway. I want to expand my network in the future to inclue VoIP, multiple ESXi hosts, and a seperate NAS/SAN box with a dedicated SAN network. I'm also planning to go to college for Computer Systems Technology so it would be nice to have a...
I dont want people with access to the openvlan to be able to access or even see whats on my personal vlan.
I also thought that was best practice to segregate devices that you dont want talking to eachother. Reducing broadcast traffic and adding a layer of security.
Not really sure that I understand the question but ill try and answer. I'd like to connect all the devices I have in my home in the manner shown in original post.
To clarify: every device should be able to access the internet.
Devices on the OPEN VLAN should be able to access the NAS with read...
Going to be introducing an ESXi server into my home lan soon and need some help planning my network setup.
ESXi will be running the router, NAS, Ubuntu and Windows Servers. It has 3 NIC's. 1 for management.
I'm hoping for a triple vlan setup. One vlan for management of the ESXi server. One for...
Dunno if this has been looked into (probably has but theres a lot of pages to read through here.) Looks like there's 2x120 fan mounts on the bottom of the case, With some skill at tubing couldn't a second 2x120mm rad be mounted there?
If you read the rest of that thread he says its very buggy.
But when you look at the nvidia website:
So it looks like theyve added support with a driver update.
I didn't think they would have horizontal lense adjustments. Damn. I guess I'll have to be content with 1080p when playing on the projector then.
Edit. : no 1080p 120hz projectors for some reason. I 720p is much less appealing.
I recently built a PC gaming room. Looks like this
Ive been thinking about installing a pull down projector screen and hooking up 3 cheap 3d Vision projectors in portrait mode attached to the ceiling.
I'm also going to be upgrading to a 2560x1600 (maybe 1440) monitor and getting rid of the...
I think in basically going to copy your setup . run a pfsense vm, server 2012 vm and a oi zfs nas in a vm. Have my boot drive and data store on the onboard sata and use the realtek for management. Then when I get more money I can migrate my nas into its own box and replace the local datastore...
I'm planning on building a very similar box. I do have some questions. Does ESXi recognize your onboard NIC? Have you tried passing the onboard SATA controller to a VM?
Need some hardware recommendations for a cheap ESXi server.
Mobo:
Need to be able to pass through an HBA to Server 2012
Needs to have a slot for intel NIC card.
Would be nice if it had integrated graphics to assist with setting up ESXi. (Is that needed or can I set it up with a cheap graphics...
I've come around to the same conclusion. I just want something to free up my 3 WASD fingers for other actions, and to add analog control to PC gaming movement. This thing isn't it though. The sidewinder strategic commander is better than this (i know i just picked one up off craigslist, still...
Games need to implement analogue movement. Most have the capability as they are setup to use an xbox 360 controller. I have played some games that require little buttons with an xbox 360 controller in my left hand and my mouse in the other. But wrist control > thumb control, and this thing frees...
I've been wanting a way to take movement in pc games off my fingers and into my wrist for longer than I can remember. Using your wrist to control movement gives more precision and frees your fingers up for more actions. It's a no-brainer really. This thing is coming close to what's need but...
I would be better if it were shaped and functioned more like a mouse. By that I mean you can hold it with your thumb and pinky and use wrist movements to control instead of your whole arm.
