Hey have any of you guys ever done this? I'm using a -100mV offset to overclock my Intel 8700k to 4.8ghz. My understanding is that overclocking using this technique lowers all the various Speedstep voltages by -100mV also, which could affect CPU stability at idle or during light workloads when...
What about 10nm? I guess Intel doesn't want to talk about that?
Talk about a corporation getting caught flat footed. Why haven't they developed an ARM product by now?
AMD is going to stomp Intel this year, and then they'll both get stomped by Apple and whoever else can develop a superior ARM...
Thanks OP. Look at what nVidia is dealing with with the 12nm node. We are approaching the limits of physics. [H]ard things are [h]ard. And advancing microprocessor manufacturing is damn [h]ard.
I clicked on the thread title hoping nVidia came to their senses and re-named the RTX 2080 Ti a Titan and cut prices across the board. Just a free game. Too bad.
Well what would be the point in Sony releasing the PS5 with anything less powerful than a GTX 1080? The Xbox One X is already about as powerful as a GTX 1070.
Until you can show me something made by AMD that can compete with a GTX 1080 without consuming close to 500 watts, I call full on shenanigans to your post. You want to compare a 30w APU to a full blown next gen console GPU? LOL.
I have been advised by someone extremely in the know to keep all my assets as cash at this time. Tread lightly. I asked about blue chip stocks even. He said no.
What about the GDDR5X GTX 1060? Was that a myth? It even showed up on a board partner's website IIRC.

I'm just pleased that gamers are showing nVidia that we aren't stupid. nVidia tried to abuse their market position and the PC gaming community said "no way". Now nVidia will reap what they sow. What are they going to do, cut the prices on the Turing cards now? That will alienate their most...
nVidia is telling people that only RTX "low" is optimized right now. They are working on fixing the higher settings. They are recommending using RTX "low" at this time.
From nVidia:
I really think nVidia caught AMD flat footed here. And how could they not have, really. AMD has already been struggling to compete in terms of performance. There is no way they can develop their own RTX technology. They are going to try to reverse engineer what nVidia has done using whatever...
AFAIK Lisa Su fired their director of marketing and he took a lot of their people with him over to Intel. Intel now has Raja and their old marketing team. Good luck to them.
I did a clean install of the new build on my laptop tonight. It went off without a hitch. It looks like MS *hopefully* got this right this time. Unfortunately there are no second chances when it comes to peoples' data if they did not keep a backup. I have a feeling we will see a class action...
They need to fix the DRM and also the way games are downloaded. Brutally slow downloads on the Windows store. Games also often need to be downloaded multiple times, if they work at all. Steam is just so much better in so many ways. I have to say, however, I am really enjoying my Xbox Game...
It looks as though out of the box the i9 9900K is an OCP. That stands for overclocked processor, right? [H]ard things are [H]ard. But WTF is OCP?
*edit* It means "Overclockers Comparison Page"?
Are there no software overclocking tools for this? Is the multiplier locked? If this thing could be unleashed there were CPUs like this selling for $3700USD about six months ago.
My inner geek really wants me to buy this. But my rational mind says "hell no". Any ideas for good uses for 32 cores? If I'm asking I'm guessing that means I don't need them and I shouldn't buy this?
Right but you're comparing a brand new card with new features and a full warranty against a card that was likely mined into the ground. Caveat emptor. The prices on the RTX 2080 cards should settle soon. They should be selling at the $699USD MSRP. What we are seeing now is an early adopter...
OP are you comparing a new RTX 2070 against a used GTX 1080 Ti? What about the RTX 2080? An RTX 2080 selling at MSRP shouldn't cost much more than a GTX 1080 Ti. And it will be a much better card overall.
A poll on HardOCP is by no means scientific and there isn't even close to enough data (yet) to reach any type of firm conclusion, IMO. That being said I do find stuff like that interesting. The board partners and nVidia have the data and know the truth. Whether or not they convey that is the...
Either nVidia has shut down the studio so they can figure out what's going on in terms of QC, or else people are ready, willing, and able to pay $1000+ for a GPU. I lean toward the latter being true and that means it's a sad day for gaming, IMO.
The 1tb iPad Pro looks pretty badass to me. Good luck finding a better laptop than that for the price. You guys realize it has a GPU that's as powerful as an Xbox One S, right? The CPU is no slouch, either.
