Lotus PC - Anyone heard anything about them?

Is anyone familiar with a company called Lotus PC (http://www.lotuspc.net/) in Florida? They offer some highly configurable system options and their pricing seems competitive. I also like the fact that they're "Made" (assembled) in the US.

Netflix's 2Q Numbers Disappoint, Stock Plunges

Personally I'd like to know why Netflix's HD streaming selection on PC is so much more restricted than on a TV peripheral. I only watch movies on my PC (I've got a huge monitor) and it sucks that many of the new HD movies Netflix is getting are only HD on a TV. I could buy a box for $50 that'll...

Ivy Bridge TDP of 95W instead of the promised 77W ...

Well I gave in and bought a 2500k and asus p8z77-v pro board from microcenter. I'll be picking them up after work and even with tax and gas (45 miles away) I'll only be paying $395 instead of ~ $560 had I gone with a 3770k. So if the 2500k proves to be inadequate once I get my second gtx 680 in...

Is the GTX 680 a DX 11.1 card?

I like that you edited it and it still looks like that. To contribute: Do you really think 2 years time is going to render a GTX 680 totally obsolete? I can play Skyrim at ~40 fps average on my > 4 year old midrange 8800 GTS 512. Sure, it's crap now, but it was never top end and it is 4 years...

    Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler

Wow, that is actually a pretty significant flex. I'd be worried about damage to the motherboard from stressing it like that over time. I may have to do something similar to this as I will be using an NH-D14 in my new system. Alternatively, I wonder if it would be possible to brace the back...

Damn, wish I had that local retailer. Sadly I have to wait for ivy bridge anyway so getting the mobo now would do me no good but... Me want!

Feeling kinda underwhelmed with my 680 SLI

This seems to be a common issue with the GTX 680 SLI in certain games. It looks like the drivers need a bit of work, but given that this is a brand new card that's kind of to be expected. Give it a month, I'm sure things will improve.

    120 Hz Monitors... FPS?

Yes. Also, another advantage of 120hz monitors, is that in some cases they have better pixel overdrive systems which allow them to compensate for ghosting better than 60hz monitors, achieving low perceived response times. The main advantage of this is, in fast turns (in shooters) you'll still...

    Official GTX 680 Owner's Thread

So I'm going to be waiting until Ivy bridge and z77 boards are available to finish my new system, but until then I was wondering if I'd be safe putting my GTX 680 into my old system. My old system is *VERY* old. I built it four years ago. It has an E8400, an 8800 GTS 512 and what I think is a...

    [Kepler/GTX 680] Info's in... $400-450? + benches + thermals (56k warning)

The reviews seem to indicate that the 680 is quiet for a reference card. I personally intend to crank the fan up more as I'm used to a loud system and would gladly take some extra noise for a cooler running card.

    GTX 680 on NEWEGG :)

All well and good, but who knows how long it'll be before that shows up? I'll be grabbing a 680 now, and maybe a second when the prices drop a lot in 6 months to a year when that comes out. A pair of 680s should be able to pump out 120 fps for my 120hz monitor @ 1080p in just about any game I'd...

    GTX 680 on NEWEGG :)

So based on past launches, would you guys predict that the price on these will go up or down by the time ivy bridge processors & z77 boards show up in a month or so? Are non-reference designs likely to show by then?

    GTX 680 on NEWEGG :)

Yeah I had the same problem, I think that newegg accidentally listed them as in stock but isn't letting them be sold yet. That said, at least we know for certain on the pricing now! Only ~$500. Awesome.

Leaked GeForce GTX 680 2GB Benchmarks

Or just for the incredible smoothness of 120fps @ 120hz. I think a lot of gamers buy a 120hz monitor for the increased smoothness of superior anti-ghosting performance combined with higher framerates. I have yet to use 3d on my 120hz monitor, and probably never will for gaming. That said, most...

    ASUS Shows Off Z77 Motherboards @ [H]

I'm pretty sure you can't get full n-key rollover with a USB keyboard. Also there's some small amount of latency which doesn't exist with a PS2 keyboard.

Is an overclocked 7870 roughly on par with an overclocked 580?

I think the "terrible value" aspect of the 580 rather depends what you pay for it... I managed to get a galaxy MDT 580 with an 860 factory OC for $365, $340 after MIR. I think we'll see a lot more deals of that caliber showing up once the 680 comes out, and at that price it's not a bad deal.

What are the benefits of the Z77 over Z68 boards?

Ok now I'm confused again. So if I were to use say, a pair of gtx580s, pci-e 2.0 cards, on a z77 board with an ivy bridge processer would the pci-e slots act as x8 or x16?
  28. V

What are the benefits of the Z77 over Z68 boards?

Will these boards allow dual x16 or single x16 and one x8 slot with a pair of pci-e 2.0 cards?
  29. V

What are the benefits of the Z77 over Z68 boards?

Yeah, that seems like the obvious answer but if the pricing is going to be higher with no real increase in performance... *shrugs* I guess I'll wait and see. I just really wish I had an extra $200 to build my system right now :D

What are the benefits of the Z77 over Z68 boards?

I do a lot of 1080 30p video encoding, and eventually plan to get a 1080 60p camera. I'll be using a Noctua nh-d14 as it seems to be the best air cooler on the market atm. Hmm... good point. So you think the last of the z68 stock will just go away fairly fast once z77 boards show up...

What are the benefits of the Z77 over Z68 boards?

I'm building a new system and I'd like to know whether you think I should buy an ASUS p8z68-v pro/gen 3 mobo now, or wait for a z77 board. Planned specs: i7 2600k or 2700k (because of reported heat issues with the 3770k when overclocked) 2x GTX 580 1.5 gig I plan to run one 1080p 120hz monitor...

GK104 = GTX 680 (confirmed), paper launching soon [SA]

You know for all the complaining in this topic, which I do somewhat agree with, I'd still much rather have a 680 that should have been a 670 which slightly outperforms a 7970 some of the time for the same price as a 7970 than a 7970. Why? Because Nvidia makes better drivers. Sure, the 7970 will...

    i5-2500k vs i7-2600k value - from i7 owners?

I'm kind of wondering the same thing the OP is. I am doing my first computer upgrade in 4 years, and I want to build a system that I won't be annoyed with 3 years from now. So far the specs are going to be: i7 2600K or closest Ivy Bridge equivalent (depending on launch date) w/ heavy overclock...

    Samsung S27A750D 120Hz

Sorry for the double post but this caught my attention on searching the topic. Samsung will service this monitor for backlight bleed? I thought that like one or two dead pixels backlight bleed wasn't covered under warranty. Did they wind up replacing your monitor or fixing the issues for you?

    Samsung S27A750D 120Hz

I've now had this monitor for about a month and go figure, it now has some serious backlight bleed issues on the right and bottom edges. When I first got it it only had a slight light-grey effect along the bottom left, but now it has a very noticable blueish haze on the right and the bottom...

    Samsung S27A750D 120Hz

I've had this monitor for a couple days now and so far it's very impressive. I was upgrading from another glossy panel, an HP w2207, which really wasn't a bad monitor, just kind of low res (1680x1050) and poor on response time (it had no overdrive, so 5ms). I do not have a card that can output...

Exchange the monitor if you're still within the return period for where ever you bought it from. Samsung S27A750D 120Hz

Ugh... I guess I may have to go Radeon if that's the case. I don't get why Samsung made so many odd choices with this monitor. It's got the best gaming screen on the market but a crappy stand, no mounting alternatives, and poor connectivity.

    Samsung S27A750D 120Hz

So after reading through this entire topic I have yet to find a single post by someone who has said for certain that this monitor works perfectly with one of the gtx570s or 580s with displayport outputs. Does anyone have one of those cards and this monitor who can confirm that it works properly...
