If you ramp up the heat and difficulty and overclock... I could see how that third card might interfere with gaming.. Also, I believe there's an option to offload some of the SHA-256 work that cudaminer does to the CPU That could cause a stutter or two.
I play New Vegas when I mine... I've...
In the cudaminer instruction set there's a variable for d ="device". Third card is most likely -d 2 I run one 780 gaming and run one mining at the same time. I don't know how SLI will effect this. I'm sure it would work.
What you fail to understand is... I don't look at spreadsheets... I look at the real world.. and try to make real world assessments. Not some two-minute fantasy made-up for the internet.
I don't come in with false accusations... I have this hardware... I see what it can do. I just don't like people lying when I try to make informed decisions when I buy. I can do 600 khs for sure... it's diminishing returns. It destroys my PCH temps... Too much power for not enough gain. I...
yeah you're completely right.. the internet is the way, the truth and the light. What a fool I am to run my hardware at safe speeds 24/7 while someone takes their highest clock on liquid jesus and says that's their hashrate...they show a screenshot that runs for two minutes and its gospel.
ok.. go go power rangers! *sigh*// whatever... everybody gets like 100000 more khs than I do with the same hardware. I'm totally doing it wrong. It's always the same story.
well.. I'm still making a profit running those cards... I do the maffs. Still making money...not optimal to be sure. Got a few AMD cards inbound... leave my 780s for gaming.
hmm... my 780 does 400w at the wall. 500 khs 80 percent TDP.. It's possible...I have X79 platform. I idle about 175w. AMD is still superior in this dept.
I got that Sapphire Toxic 270x.... just because it looks cool. Not a smart purchase since you can get 270s with 1280 shaders 60 bucks cheaper. I hope it runs cool, tho. and get 450 khs.
I've gotten so many rebates through 4myrebates... I must be on auto-send. I'm about 99 percent on rebate redemption. The only one I didn't get in recent memory, is from Seasonic, which wasn't through 4myrebates. Ironically, the rebate address is 160 miles from my house. Called them up, never...
Ron Paul coin... if he can't be president... he can still make you rich beyond your wildest dreams. I need two more $400 290s ;)
I mean.. they can't be selling very well @ $500+.. always in stock. You'd think they'd lower the price to $449 and start pumping them out.
No I was running SLI. But it didn't matter. Single card... two cards. First slot was 8X only. Gen2 or Gen3. I figured I could live with it... until it gnawed at me enough to RMA it.
Here's your ill-advised ghetto mod of the week. Place a corsair CFM fan from an H80i right on the back of the VRM. 15c drop immediately. Fuzzy MSI (furmark) went from 105c to 90c. I'm sure the more industrious sorts can find a much better way to rig that fan there. But it's highly advised...
I had the Rampage Formula. I had to RMA it because the first PCI-e slot refused to run at anything other than 8X. Maybe there is some sort of defect with those boards and first PCI-e slot.
I would kick that puppy dead square in his chops, take a deep breath and rebuild.
You know the only way is to swap out another card. Pain in the butt... I think there's a way to plug-in to like a laptop for BIOS monitoring and overclocking. I don't know if that would even help you.
That's 2000-2400 dollars in video cards alone. I wouldn't even mess with it anymore. Get...
I can tell you... with 780 SLI.. If don't connect the 6-pin PCI-e power connector on my Rampage Extreme for extra power to the PCi-e slots, there are stability issues. For whatever that's worth. I used to think those 4-pin molex connectors on motherboards were BS. Well, not on the Rampage...
I've RMAd a video card and two motherboards from them in the last year. Got a brand new video card back... a refurb motherboard back in perfect working order.. and another motherboard, I sent to them because the onboard audio quit. They sent it back with a BIOS flash. I complained online to...
There's a 4-pin molex connector right below the IO and above the first PCI-e slot. I believe it serves as extra power to the PCI-e slots on SLI/Crossfire motherboards. Believe it or not, esp. with the Rampage Extreme that I have (it's a 6-pin PCI-e on the Extreme), that connector does make a...
That motherboard reminds me of a Cadillac Cimarron. Has gold trim... says "Cadillac"... but it's really just a POS chevy.
Anyhoo.. I'd cut your losses... RMA it and get something else like an X79 Sabertooth. Buy a discrete WiFi card. Fixed.
I know it now.
0.09417 Kw/h Winter rate. There's so many charges and taxes.. I don't know if they are included in that rate or not. I'm about 4 dollars a day right now. According to that price- the website says I'm using. My last month was 110 without mining. I'm guessing about...
You know what. I never knew my electric bill charges.. I never paid attention until now. 100 bucks last month? hmm..okay.
You got one... fire it up. Make some coins. Tell us what you get.
If you're talking to me... my VRM1 got blasted to 105c by MSI's version of furmark. Under heaven...
Yeah... I tried to overclock, KENNY. In my opinion.. there's a balance of heat, power, Khs. There's diminishing returns when you try to send these beasts into overtime. I have five video cards in three rigs. Four of them are underpowered, undervolted and underclocked. I like my GPUs under...
I got a 144 hz monitor that I could use it with. To be honest, I would do more testing, but I even have my Classys hashing right now... so I dunno. Don't want the down time. I might end up having to dremel that stock cooler anyway if I want to game with it. Rig another fan on it or whatever.
crap double post sorry... meant to edit the last post.
*edit* yeah DX11 fuzzy MSI kicks the crap out of VRM1. 105c. I have no idea what that temp would be with the stock cooler. I doubt it it would be much better, if not worse.
Ran some heaven 4.0 and didn't see a problem. So as long I...
I'll put my two cents here. I just installed Accelero Xtreme 3 on my mining R9 290 running @ 1000 Mhz. Temps after 12 hours are 56c on the core and 79c on VRM 1.
I don't know if that's a good VRM temp or not after 12 solid hours of 100 percent usage @ 800 Khs. I think it is. It was perhaps...
I had one of these. Headphone feedback. I have a Creative USB for my surround speakers.. and I only bought that refurbished for the software. I use onboard for my headphones. I've never used anything but onboard sound. And thanks to this card I know why.
Pretty much perfect condition in the retail box. CL9 2133 Mhz Corsairs. CMT16GX3M4X2133C9 4 X 4 GB. Red. Love them.. buy them.
