    Acer Predator XB271HU - 27" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync IPS ULMB 144hz

Yeh I agree, but I have seen him say that at least 100x lol, I agree that grey is better but I do not find black to be THAT bad, backlight bleed, IPS glow, IPS black levels in general are more of a problem than a grey or black bezel.

    Acer Predator XB271HU - 27" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync IPS ULMB 144hz

Do you think that black bezels are worse than grey then? I have never noticed you mention about perceived black depth ruining black bezels before :D

    FATASS CASE AIRFLOW ? - 17 fans... (8)120mm, (3)140mm & (1)200mm - Core X9 *PICS*

Its literally completely pointless having more fans than you need to do the following things : Get enough new air into the case to feed the CPU + GPU + a bit extra for case temp etc. Remove that air before it builds up heat in the case and is not re-circulated by the CPU + GPU. Basically that...

    ASUS PG279Q 144hz 1440P IPS G-Sync

That just shows that they COULD release all 90-100% perfect panels... as the reviewers get cherry picked ones. But they don't and just hope people accept some of these terrible panels I have seen on forums etc.

    Magni 2 report

Maybe get a Xonar STX, that has a very nice dac and RCA out section, that and the magni should be decent enough for any headphones.

    LG 27MB85R-B new WQHD AH-IPS ?

Is the "LG Electronics 27MB85Z 27-Inch IPS Colour Prime Monitor" the same monitor as this? That is the only one available in the UK, is it the same monitor, but with thunderbolt?

    Try this audio test

I got 4/5 first try and 5/5 second try on NAD D1050 + Shure SRH 1540, was not really listening for anything specific except which one sounded more "HIFI" You cannot really try to listen for "flaws" because the flaws are in the recording and will be there anyway, if you listen for clarity and...

    ASUS PG279Q 144hz 1440P IPS G-Sync

I don't see the problem with the gamma, it looks like 2.4 BT1886 gamma, which is 2.4 gamma and goes down a bit near black so there is no black crushing.

    Dell 2715 vs Asus MX27AQ

Why? What do you suggest? I do not want 4k or 1080p or anything under 27" or anything with input lag.

Why people don't care about calibration?

Yes that was what I meant, if you could just apply a calibration and it worked perfectly with everything then that would be good, but unfortunately it is nothing like that.

    Sorry but this is wrong.

    Dell 2715 vs Asus MX27AQ

I have not ever had to RMA with Asus before, Are they really that bad? Is Dell better for that sort of thing? Not sure if Dell or Asus is likely to have better quality control, the Asus is £40 cheaper, they both look decent enough, hmm not sure.
  16. N

    Dell 2715 vs Asus MX27AQ

Which would you get out of these? They seem to use the same panel and are similar, the MX27AQ is £40 cheaper than the Dell. I was going to get a Gsync 1440p IPS but I think I will just get a 60hz and get adaptive sync when it is cheaper and works with both manufacturers.
  17. N

Why people don't care about calibration?

Because its a finnicky, very time consuming, and annoying process, if it was as simple as selecting settings, calibrating, putting the file somewhere and having perfect calibration, I expect a lot more people would be interested.

It's happening, affordable 4k OLED TV's are finally becoming a reality

CRT's will disappear, they will eventually all die and you cannot buy any more. % of people on CRT's now is prob about 0.001%

It's happening, affordable 4k OLED TV's are finally becoming a reality

The 4k OLED looks great for most games, but they really need to get the input lag below 30ms. Not sure how you can play games like battlefront with 50ms lag, I cannot aim properly on my TV which has 32ms.

It's happening, affordable 4k OLED TV's are finally becoming a reality

Is there a problem with colorimeters and rec 2020? Or is it because OLED is better than SRGB but cannot cover the full REC2020? Sort of a no mans land if you will.

It's happening, affordable 4k OLED TV's are finally becoming a reality

I want to see a 48" 4k OLED for under £2000, then we can call OLED affordable and competitive with LED prices. I wouldn't call £3000 affordable for most people and 55" is too big for a lot of people, 48" would have better PPI and big enough, I would rather have 48" with 92PPI for games. 40" =...

GTX980Ti SLI, I need more power, tri way SLI.

Absolute madness buying another 980ti so you can use 4k DSR to be honest, buy an actual 4k screen instead with the money.

    ASUS PG279Q 144hz 1440P IPS G-Sync

It isn't really matte like the heavy AG on TN screens, its a light AG coating and from an angle is reflective. Obviously not full glossy, but nor are any monitors anymore except cheap ones.

So what does a curved monitor actually do?

I am guessing a curve would be useless / worse than flat, on anything except 40"+ monitors or superwide.

    36" to 44" 4K Roundup

Yes you could buy a 64k 1700PPI screen with 132 megapixels resolution... But half of windows would still look complete crap because of the scaling lol.

Why did you put 36-44"? All the screens are 39-43", otherwise good work!

    New Samsung 4k for everyone.

Also double the price for a 4k OLED vs a LCD, that is the main "aspect that I value most" If 4k OLED was the same price there would be no contest at all.

    The 2015 Sony TV Thread

I have a Sony (2nd top of the range) and the CMS is rubbish, no 10 point white balance or proper RGB controls etc. Not acceptable on a high end TV, Also they use AUoptronics now instead of sony/samsung VA panels.

Going from 1080P to 1440P how much of a difference?

Going from 1080P to 1440P how much of a difference?

You can't really compare DSR to native 1440p / 4k though. I use DSR on my 1080p TV when games can still run it at 60fps, its better than 1080p but not comparable at all to a 4k or 1440p screen.
  34. N

Going from 1080P to 1440P how much of a difference?

Yes its better is has 3.7 megapixels vs 2.1 megapixels on 1080p. 4K (8.3MP) is just ridiculous currently unless you have SLI 980ti. 1440p on a single 980ti runs very well.

    Wasabi Mango UHD600 REAL4K HDMI 2.0

Here is a comparison of a 27" vs 60" screen, some people say they don't want to go from 24 > 27 because it is too big LOL. Sorry but 60" is just completely ABSURD as a PC monitor.

ROG Swift PG348Q Curved Display Unveiled

Gsync is much better than ULMB, ULMB is like have PWM at 100-120hz + 20% lower contrast, yes it lowers the blur, but it also gives me a headache and has very obvious flickering, which is worse, especially as you cannot use Gsync at the same time, I pick Gsync every time.
