Try a complete format and possibly a trial version of Windows 7, or 8. If that doesn't work, then your GPU is on the fritz.

Good luck looking, but you'd be better off upgrading your entire RAM kit to the Samsung 30nm DDR3 and overclocking/tightening the timings. Sure, you'll lose a bit of cash in the process, but x58 users are few and far between, especially ones that run your current RAM.

You said it's your wife's rig, right? Easiest trouble shoot would be to try the card in your rig. If it's running WoW correctly, I'd do as Wyluiraven suggested and just do a simple Windows nuke and start from scratch.

That's total system draw, not the GPU draw. Their test system is using a 980X, a much higher TDP processor than your 2700k. Do you have access to a Kill-A-Watt? You'd be surprised how little your rig draws in comparison.

It does contain a slot, I noticed it when I replaced the stock thermal paste on the CPU.

Currently doesn't contain a MXM card. :( Having no luck finding the stock assembly either. Wondering if I could use a modified CPU heat pipe, but I doubt it.
