What's wrong with doing both!?
It is funny how equality in the workplace suddenly changed to men are weak and worthless... Feminists get what they want and then complain about it. It's the same thing with the sexual revolution. You want to have sex with everyone and then complain that men...
But with all the TV functionality they're hyping so hard there's going to be a somewhat complicated setup process with IR blasters and programming and such let alone interfacing with your DVR. Steam has made it so easy to install and update PC games that the gap in convenience isn't very big...
I agree with him in that forcing the DRM removes the last advantage consoles had over gaming PCs. At this point the only reason to buy a console is for exclusive games, and those are becoming an endangered species.
Well still, I usually leave 5-6 games on my console. The newest Halo or COD that I am playing online and 3-4 other single player games I'm working through. I don't typically replay through tons of old games at once so installing/reinstalling isn't that big of an issue. It takes about 15...
I already install all games I play on my xbox 360. I usually can only have 6 or so games installed because of the size of them and all the other DLC I have on my system but I don't find it super annoying to have to install all games before playing them.
ROFL...
Also, based on this it sounds like the content will work exactly like downloaded games and content already work on the xbox 360.
On the Xbox 360 if you download a game it's registered to BOTH your gamertag and your console ID. Any user can play a game on that console and your...
The problem is that MS is arguing that Xbox One is an "all in one" device, not a gaming console. So yeah, MS is the one who's making that point and it's more than fair to point out that a PC is the only true "all in one" box.
Could you clarify a couple of things: What time is the giveaway going to be and do you need to be present to win? I might swing by but have to be somewhere at 1PM.
Thanks for the event.
It can't do this though. There is only one IR port and one HDMI pass through. It won't be able to control your TV or an AV reciever. You're still going to need remotes for those for sure. that's why this whole thing is a bit silly. The presser makes it seem like an all in one box and it can...
I personally like the one posted earlier here better.

Serious lulz.
Okay this line is pure gold "We didn't want Call of Duty to be another Call of Duty so we made a game about men who shoot guns and are emotionally...
So everyone gave Sony tons of crap for not actually showing the console during their press conference.
Which is worse, not showing the console or not showing even a single game being played? I'd say the latter. How can you unveil a games console without even a single playable game?
Yikes...
Again, it may have all kinds of cool tech inside it but none of that matters if you can't make any kind of fun playable experience with it and so far, 3 years after the initial reveal of it MS still has yet to make any kind of compelling game experience for all of their neato hardware. Don't...
The problem with Kinect is that it's been around for 2-1/2 years now and all the games are garbage. Kinect has nothing to show in its defense and to say that it has "potential" at this point is just ridiculous. Slightly lower input lag will not solve the myriad of problems that surround kinect...
Eurogamer has pretty much summed up how I feel about game pressers at this point. "OK, there's a vision of sorts for how games can be different, better and stronger, but one of the things that grows ever more wearying with each passing press conference I attend - whether it's Sony, Microsoft or...
What would be really great is if you had one box that could do everything. Web surf, listen to music, play movies, stream movies from any site, play a huge library of games, be backward compatible with all of its previous games. Oh right, that's a PC. :D
I meant that the total would be $55 to the gamer. MS and Gamestop are going to make plenty of money splitting the $50 -$5 they paid the seller.
Also, it's not a deal killer since all games are effectively this way now. You don't have any alternative with any other console probably. Did...
Actually I could see Gamestop and MS partnering with a sort of game return refund program. Since all games install and presumable are associated with your account the discs become worthless to gamers after their first use so gamers trade in their discs to Gamestop for $5 or so. Gamestop then...
Joystiq is reporting DDR3 not GDDR5. Hmmmm.... I wonder how much that'll really matter.

Also interesting... "And now Boyd is talking a bit more about the third operating system. Each OS, basically, is rendering what he's calling "display frames." They sound like frame buffers. Basically, each OS is always rendering its own display and the third OS allows quick swapping between them."
hardware panel is interesting. http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/21/xbox-one-architecture-panel-liveblog/
He's making the point that these other apps and services cannot affect the availability of resources to the game. They must stay consistent even if they console is doing multiple things...
This is why I'm really shifting to building a steam library and not a console library anymore. Well, that and the fact that steam games are so ridiculously cheap.
it is not backward compatable and you can't use your XBLA games on it either.
http://www.theverge.com/2013/5/21/4350662/new-xbox-has-no-backwards-compatibilty
ugh, MS is pulling a Sony. "And there’s one area in which Sony and Microsoft are in perfect harmony: Neither of their new machines are backward compatible with their current ones. That means your seven years’ worth of digital game purchases made over the Xbox Live Marketplace...
and what's the deal with touting all kinds of tired ideas as if they're new and exciting? Improved AI, better graphics, a more egronomic controller. Wahoo! He made it sound like not having a huge battery tumor and a horrible d-pad were big improvements. Really I'm not at all excited about...
Well, as someone who used his xbox mostly as a media center extender I'm actually excited about the HDMI passthrough features assuming they update media center functionality with it. I am a bit shocked they didn't show a single playable game. COD was the only real game they showed and it's...
