Thanks for putting this up, I grabbed 2 of these on the black Friday sale for a RAID 1 on my freeNAS box... I had been kicking myself for not having a hot spare available.
Nvidia MX 32MB (AGP)
Nvidia 5200 64MB (PCI)
Nvidia 7300GT 128MB (PCIe) <---- Overclocked the garbage out of it was still to slow.
Nvidia 7600GT 256MB (PCIe) <---- Much better than the 7300 but still to slow.
Nvidia 7800GT 256MB (PCIe) <---- Overclocked the garbage out of it, worked great until...
I would really be interested in what type of power these units are pulling. If they are at 250w idle that seems like pretty high power usage for what I will be doing with them. I have looked at some of the available refurbs on NewEgg and they are pretty cheap for the hardware they are packing...
Sorry for the lack of specificity, I'm going to be using the system mainly for testing ESXi and KVM, I have very little interest in Hyper-V. My motherboard has the E3-1270 v2 Xeon on it's compatibility list. Noise isn't an issue as I can shove the system in another room, but I would care a...
Hi guys, I'm looking for some input. I been doing more and more with VMs lately, pretty light weight stuff mostly for testing things, and a couple of light weight servers. Anyway I was playing around with the idea of getting an E3-1270 to replace my 3570K. I know on a instructions per cycle...
That build is great, I love the bent chrome tubing. I have never seen that in a build. We always just used flexible hose. I like that look a good deal more.
ugh, wish I was there, my 7970 died and with the new cards so close to coming out I just can't bring myself to buy right now... This 570 is killing me though, I get frame drop at 1680X1050 on low in BF4. :(
Doesn't seem like I can guaranty a V2.
Anyone have any luck with Buffalo? I remember they used to be decent.

Hey guys,
My trusty wrt54g+ just gave up the ghost and I have realized I know nothing about the new gear that has come out. I need a replacement though and decided to get some opinions.
I don't need anything super quick, but I would like something decently stable. I don't need it to do...
We can't give you an advice until we know what you are trying to do with it. Also looking at what you have a GPU is more likely going to fix your problem than a CPU, if gaming is what you want to do.
Just going to to toss my hat in here, I have been using HD280 pros for a while. You should be able to pick them up for around $100 they are closed back and very comfy for long duration use. You should be able to try them out at large audio stores (Sam Ash comes tom mind. )
Check on the BIOS update, but also reseat your water block, sometimes if you don't have equal pressure on the block you can get random temperature spikes that could be sending you over the motherboard temp threshold.
Be truthful with them, but let them know you are willing to learn. A linux+ book is a good place to start, but is a small step in a very long journey.
( good luck at the interview. :) )
We know that, but it doesn't invalidate his point. Calling him a jackass just makes your point less valid as you have not engaged in a defensable argument.
90+% of cars only have one person in them for the same reason that trains don't work in America. The infasturture has not been bult around...
I would love to redo this experiment but unfortunatly when I recently upgraded to a 7970 I gave the 570 to a friend, I may be able to get it back though I will see. Also just adding to this, as I was saying before, it may have been a software issue as the physix effects wouldn't even show up...
The best thing to do is grab a multimeter and test the voltageshttp://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATX#Power_supply
Does sound like you need a new one though.
My framerate increased by about 10fps in most places when I put the 8600 in, I'm not saying that it wasn't running at 80-90% most of the time, but it did help, also for some reason borderlands would not do physx on my 570 even after I changed the settings in the nvidia control panel (werid...
I was using an 8600gt in my system for borderlands 2 and it did just fine (1680*1050 with everything turned up). So I would say yes, it will work out just fine.
PS4 has a GPU that's around the same level as a AMD 7870*, it also uses a cpu that's based off of the AMD jaguar, that being said if the games are optimized properly it will perform better than the system you have now, that could of course be changed by getting a more modern gpu, (280x or the...
