After reading everyone’s feedback, I thinking I’m going to stick with my system for now and just replace the graphics card. I’m going to try to overclock it a bit more...maybe to 4.8 and see how it runs on my 4K tv. I will re-evaluate, see what amd has to offer and upgrade if need be.

Yeah....I live 15 minutes away from a Microcenter (Santa Ana, CA)...I'll look at there deals but I have to figure in the sales tax to see what the bottom line savings are. Thats why I tend to avoid new egg (also in CA, City of Industry) also because of sales tax.

Its proprietary alienware stuff. Its an alienware area 51 7500 I bought back in 07 which power my two original 8800 gtx in SLI.

SLI is my progression....suck! I think the 6950 require two six pins. Maybe I should pick up two of those which is roughly the cost of one gtx 580 and do crossfire right away. Plus I get an addition vram ( from 1.5 to 2) since you can't share vram on multi-gpus. Any suggestions?
