I don't know guys, I put in an order, and I don't like the way it's going. After the order, they asked for my phone number for verification, I gave my google voice number, and they texted a confirmation code. Now they are asking for additional ID, a photo copy of my drivers license. No way...
I see the purchase is in Euros, that's no problem for PayPal, but will that be different version or anything of BF4? Also that seems like as decent of a deal as we are likely to get on a preorder, but BF4 premium is $48 too, not really a good deal there.
I was bitterly disappointed when I missed it, but saw it was back on last night so scooped one up. They updated the expected delivery date this morning from the 23rd to the 7th, so that's barely a week. Thanks OP
Nice review btw, I think there is huge potential for a nice small efficient machine there.
I did want to point out to the other argument that the PS4 was announced with 8gb of GDDR5, so the likelihood of AMD implementing that with Kevari does sound pretty good.
I really do believe violent games and movies have had an effect on me. Brutally violent scenes that would have made my stomach turn 10 years ago don't invoke any sensation at all really now. I don't believe it is a good thing to have become numb to extreme violence, but I don't for one second...
Hmmm, haven't played a huge amount of God of War, but somehow Kratos never struck me as a loving father figure. In fact I believe there is a sex scene in one of the games where he bangs one out as two other women watch, not really selling the whole family routine there.
I don't know about the battery, but I believe Google's angle with the storage is to get people to use their cloud services. I doubt we will ever see a Google handset with an SD card again, I'm just glad there is a very legitimate option out there for a reasonably priced unlocked handset of good...
I got one at the beginning of the month, and am very happy with it. Really, the big deal with this phone is how good of a deal it is for a premium unlocked handset. The 16gb comes close to $400 though still with tax+ship.
I think it's only fair that part of this law should require carriers to offer an unlocked version at a non-subsidized price. Law makers don't seem too interested in protecting the consumer nowadays, big businesses just have too many lobbyists I guess.
This is just stupid, who exactly is forcing carriers to subsidize these expensive smartphones? Why do we have to change laws to suit their business models, instead of them adapting to current laws?
You would think Nvidia would be hunting for better quality employees from rival companies. Better quality meaning employees technical enough to get away with something like that.
Wow, it even had Dishonered. It now says
Due to an error in our system the price for this bundle was wrong and lower than it should have been. The bundle offer have therefore been taken down, and is no longer avaialbe to purchase.
Because of the high demand and sale on this bundle we have...
Those Overlord Tempest monitors look like decent buy, you can get a barebones grade A panel for $370 it looks like, and it is from a dealer in California offering a 1 year warranty.
A reputable ebay seller had an open box HP ZR2740w for $570 with shipping, and HP's 3 year warranty so I sprung for that. Man though, a 1440p panel for $340 makes it hard to recommend something else, even if it is a bit of a gamble.
From my browsing around looking at 1440 monitors, it looks like lag time on these is pretty high compared to a good TN panel. The HP panel is half the others and seems to be the best choice in that respect.
I ended up getting a 670 this round, been kinda wishing I had gotten a 7970 instead. AMD gpu's are a terrific bargain now considering the amazing game bundle, the latest driver's are pretty beastly too.
I actually didn't mind Rage, I got it 3 or 4 days after release, and didn't have any problems running the game, or bad texture pop-in. I thought the panoramas were pretty, but up close the textures were pretty low quality. Wasn't worth the trade-off in my opinion. The game-play was fun and...
I just got it so I could get 20% off of Guild Wars 2 for my little sister's birthday, 20% off worked fine, but I did not get a registration # with my GW2 purchase yet, hopefully it is coming.
It seems like people prefer less intrusive DRM over more intrusive DRM with very little exception. It does not get less intrusive than no DRM. I don't see why it's any trouble at all just to install your DRM free game, and add it in steam as a non steam game.
The problem when people...
The problems with touchscreens is you have to touch them. Touching them makes them smudged and dirty, I don't see any trade-off making that worthwhile in a professional or enthusiasts setting. I don't think this touchscreen thing will make it past tablets and phones. Touchscreens don't work...
Wow, so biggston needs to go.
At any rate I wonder how these PD cores will compete in the server market, I think that's far more important for AMD's longevity as a company than the enthusiast market. We will have to see how power efficient they are, Trinity looked pretty decent in that area.
I wonder why they couldn't get a little higher turbo out of that thing? It's lightly threaded tasks that they are really getting whooped on right now, that's a bit disappointing.
I switched to a Gigabyte 670 from a pair of 6870's, and even after running driversweeper was getting a bsod, seemed to be a problem with flash player in the background though for me. A clean Windows install seemed to take care of it.
Has anyone tried the Wing Commander Games with an Xbox 360 controller? I have tried an Xbox controller on DosBox games before, and it wouldn't calibrate properly.
I thought I had read that China was able to supply rare earth metals for so cheap (until fairly recently) that it really wasn't profitable for american mining companies to produce them. I thought Molycorp had a rare earth mine but closed it because of that. We will probably start seeing other...
Well that does make more sense, The desktop market is probably the most mature market with the least amount of growth potential, so I could see why that's the lowest priority.
Isn't AMD kinda sending mixed signals here? On the one hand they are pushing more, but weaker cores for heavily threaded tasks. At the same time however they are pushing their GPU APP acceleration for heavily threaded tasks. It seems like fewer strong cores would fit better if they want to...
This was actually one of my favorite games I have played over this last year or so. Not great like Skyrim, or Battlefield, but I really got a kick out of it. The hair physics on the Alice model were really great, and can be easily run off of a reasonably fast CPU. It did get frustrating at...
38 Studios made a pretty good game, but were not able to be profitable doing so. You can't just keep throwing good money after bad (not the public's money at least). I feel for Mr. Schilling, but I doubt he stands to lose all of the money he has saved, I'm guessing he will still have a couple...
