Are those 670's 4gb?
Bioshock infinite is driving me mad...No matter what I do I cant get this game to run smooth, constant stuttering, load stutter. I'm sitting on 60fps but it don't feel smooth at all, always dropping frames.
Rig.

Has anyone else got this issue with these drivers in Bioshock Infinite.
A level of detail line a few feet in front of my character...only affects shadows quality??

680 SLI here @ 1080p
settings/texture very high and 2xSMAA
Vsync on
Dont know about frame rate but It does feel smoother to me after upgrading from 314.21. much less choppiness.
I realize this a strong bump here but...
I got HAF X with Demcli filters and normal setup of top two fans, and rear fan as exhaust fans, with the front and side fans as intake. Also got vga cooler fan just behind front panel.
3 x exhaust fans
2 x intake fans. (3 if you include vga cooler...
Yes they do, I went with MSI for my 680's and was quite suprised at how much louder they are compared to windforce3x cooling on my previous Gigabyte cards, they overclocked like a beast too.
I'm running SLI 680's and i72600k @ 4.6ghz @ 1080p
Very High settings except shadows, shaders, objects on high
Full motion blur/lens flare
Tried every single AA mode and still had fps drops into the high 30's in this game, mainly in the first, second and dam levels...thought I would get a solid...
I actually played the whole game through with TXAA and I didn't mind it... definitely makes the grassy areas look better I reckon. I know its blurry but I just didnt notice it that much at 2x.
Gonna have another run through with SMAA 2x and hardest difficulty soon.
Now some strange things are happening.
Keep in mind I'm fairly new to PC gaming and tweaking etc.
In certain areas of first few levels...I drop to 45 frames now...gpu usage on the 680's is hanging around 60% with max settings and FXAA...I played around with all the AA types even using 8xMSAA...
Well I just updated to 314.09 titan drivers...and it gave me a significant boost. On 314.07 the game felt abit sluggish.
Maxed out @ 1920 x 1080p with FXAA I get a locked 60 with the odd dip into 55...lower a few settings using CVar config tweak app and I get a solid 60 everywhere (so far only...
Ahh I just noticed that the Titan drivers are out (314.09) are you guys all using these instead of 314.07 ??
I'll give these a go and see if I get a performance boost.
Yeah tried all the AA types FXAA and SMAA seem the smoothest, done abit of tweaking with crysis 3 cvar config app and I'm running mainly high - very high settings and getting almost constant 60fps...with the odd dip outdoors. Pretty happy with that for now.
My Rig
i7 2600k @ 4.6ghz
8gb ram
gtx 680 SLI 2gb
SSD
Windows 7
I'm running 1080p...and to get Crysis 3 to sit around 55 - 60fps constant I pretty much have to run everything at medium (textures High) with FXAA
Latest nvidia drivers...does that sound about right for this game...
You are the first person who average 60fps with ultra settings and aa8x, this is why I think that your results are not correct :)
Who said anything about 8xmsaa??, if you read my post again I said it runs fine with 4xmsaa, haven't even tried 8xmsaa...in my opinion at 1440p I don't even need it...
That "bar" of shadow across bottom quarter of the screen..like a dark tinting or shadow?? I get it when I use HDAO. Only issue I'm having, other than that running smooth as silk at 60fps @ 1440p on SLI 680 everything ultra except shadows very high and 2x msaa
New drivers fixed all the micro...
Yeah I hear ya, really don't get all this penis measuring bullshit with peoples gaming rigs, I got more important things going on in my life.
Anyhow I tried one 680 and with everything ultra and I could get 45fps on average. really thought SLI would nail it...but it is 95% of the way there...
Ok running 1440p on 680 SLI, i72600k @ 4.6ghz, 8gb ram
Everything on dx11 ultra except shadows on very high and post fx on very high, no msaa, the game runs fairly smooth hanging around the 55 - 60 mark with vsync on. But sometimes when I'm running through a section of dense forest or outpost...
Wasnt liking how my gtx 580 3gb SLI was doing with Farcry 3, so I just bought 2 lightning 680's gonna give the game a whirl tonight, Hoping to get high settings @1440p and never dip below 55 - 60. Game is damn pretty
Hey guys, didn't want to start a new thread just thought I would bump a relevant thread.
I'm upgrading my rig and need some SLI advice, still fairly new to all this.
Just sold my two 580's and I'm looking at getting either 2 x 680 non reference cards or tri sli 670's reference models
this is...
Super3l ENB vs Realistic lighting + fxaa injector ??
What are peoples thoughts?
I think ENB is good but when using my native res of 2560x1440...it just gives everything a grainy/blurry filter and performance hit for not much flair, but seems to work well with 1080 resolution in my opinion.

Anybody had this issue of shadows with stripes when outdoors? look at these images as I walk closer to a rock wall for instance...there is a definitive line where the shadows/shading turn from stripy to normal. I have Shadow striping fix mod installed

Now the creation kit is out
Any recommendations for a mod that balances magic (ie destruction scaling). Or a mod that balances skyrim as a whole (ie crafting, enchanting, magic etc)
??
Im a level 31 mage and I need more oomph from my spells
Yeah I faced this choice when I bought my u2711, one 3gb GTX 580 or go for two....I chose SLI and I'm glad I did..high resolution really does need GPU grunt..if you want all the graphical fruit in games.
I would probably get one 7970, and keep the option open to Crossfire down the track...
I'm not worried at all. My set up will tide me over till NVIDIAs next release.
A lot of doom and gloom going on in the forums regarding no kepler at CES...really no biggie but I'm sure kepler isn't too far away and I'm sure it will be a superior product! It seems NVIDIA have a pretty large...
Just gave Skyboost a go. It works even better than Acceleration Layer.
(in Makarth standing at the smelter looking up..used to get to high 30's..now getting 45+ with Skyboost, that one spot is only spot I'm getting lag *below 60fps*, no lag in any other part of Makarth, any other town or parts...
Tried many enb configurations...not a huge fan always too bright or too sharpened from my experience, much prefer Donotargue.com DNA ultra extreme settings ini file. I use this with preset 2 of post process FXAA injector mod.
I did the same..skse + acceleration layer pretty much keeps my Skyrim above 60fps consistently now, running on the rig in my signature.
Pretty impressed what these guys were able to do!.
You got reference cooler 580's?
80c isn't too bad...but my gigabyte 580's only get to 75c max @ 925mhz overclock, with fans on the gpus @ 60% speed. All thanks to the HAF X airflow.
Im not really comfortable when temps get to near 90c..so you'll have to see how you go when you overclock.
Well I managed to get my SLI 3gb 580's (gigabyte models) up to 925mhz @ 1.113v. Could no doubt get more...but no need at.the moment...usually run @ about 850mhz for most games anyway.
I had to play around with different voltages on each card separately tho to get it stable....guess its true...
I got SLI 3gb 580, on BF3 @ 2560x1440 I can get away ultra settings and 4xmsaa, no dips below 60fps in MP or SP. So should be good for 2560x1600.
Skyrim I can't run everything ultra . Have to lower shadows to high. Still get drops below 60fps. Damn bethesda, awesome game just hope modders can...
Sorry tor hi jacking...just hard trying to find info on these UD cards.
Temps are fine...benches and BF3/Crysis top card is 75c, both idle around 38c
So maybe in afterburner maybe I should play around with different voltages of each card instead of syncing them? And see how that goes...
OP just out of interest..Is it the 3gb version??
Because I got 2 of these 3gb UD 580's in SLI and for me to get stable 900mhz I have to run at 1.15v, seems a bit high? I have spoke to other people who have achieved 900+mhz with only slight voltage lift to 1.06v.
Is more voltage needed with...
Need help.
Im running SLI 3gb 580's overclocked to 900mhz, i72600k @ 4.8ghz (Hyperthreading off), 8gb ram, latest nvidia drivers - 285.79
Run Skyrim at 2560x1440, all settings DNA extreme ini tweak, all in-game settings ultra, fxaa injector tweak preset1, NO msaa at all..and I cant maintain...
