Hi Guys,
So I use keyboard to type, not to game. Looking to get a keyboard that will last me 5+ yr.
I would prefer to get a wired one as my current Logitech with 2.4Ghz wireless dongle keeps interfering with my mouse, phone, baby monitor lol. All those run on 2.4Ghz i believe.
I am looking for...
I understand that fastest most efficient way is USB C but sometimes i need to transfer just a single video I shot and it's much more easier to do it wirelessly via ES Browser as connecting the phone via USB C and waiting for 500 thumbnails to load in windows browser so I can locate that 1 file...
Hi Guys.
I transfer data from my Android phone to PC regularly. transferring stuff from PC to PC with ethernet I get regular speed of 115MB/s via 1Gbps connection.
Now even when I'm standing right next to my ATT router I see a constant connection of 866 Mbps on my Note 9. But when I wirelessly...
Which one did you try?
I have nighthawk and tridentz RGB. Waiting on other components before I try.
Here's the link to officially supported RAM:
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-X470-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_QVL/
Thanks guys.
Yes from what everyone has told me it's better to go ATX than mATX for better VRM, cooling, heatsinks, overclocking.
Things have changed since I asked the question, ending up buying the following:
Asus ROG Strix X470-F
Ryzen 7 2700x
Was able to get some recent deals which...
Thanks.
This reinforces what i've learned in the last few days. Have to say it's a been a learning curve.
So my plan is to get the Asus Prime X470 Pro which has 2 x RGB 12V 4 pin headers.
I will add RGB RAM and 1 x RGB strip.
In total the MB will have 2 x RGB logos, 1 x RGB strip, RGB RAM and...
Exactly that is soo difficult. It's like no company wants to play ball> I am looking at Night hawk RGB and maybe get a RGB strip since Asus motherboard has 2 x RGB headers and forget about RGB fans.
The Asus Prime X470-Pro doesn't have 5V addressable header. It has 2 x 12V RGB headers. Is the addressable header for accessories like RGB fan?
Using the 12V header I am guessing I can connect an RGB strip and control colors using Asus Aura. The addressable can be used with maybe AIO cooler or...
Hi.
Guys I need some help.
Looking to get a new X470 MB. Will be pairing it with 2700x.
Not an overclocker. Will probably run CPU on clock speeds.
My budget is $180 Max.
I've singled out Asus Prime X470-Pro and MSI Gaming Pro Carbon.
Both can do SLI, Crossfire, have NVME support. RGB headers...
Hi.
I just ordered the TridentZ RGB DDR4 32GB (16x2) clocked at 2400Mhz.
I will be using this with Ryzen 7 2700x and X470 motherboard.
Now my question is if I overclock the RAM 3000Mhz will the performance be same as buying 3200Mhz or 3000Mhz RAM?
or
Should I buy RAM with faster clock speed...
Ya looked at some Lian Li as well, most of them are bigger in size and around $200.
I can see the difference paying $100 extra for more RAM, CPU, GPU, but I don't understand how paying that much is going to help my build in performance or aesthetics.
Thing is with Mid Tower cases, it's super...
Thanks for the links.
Just finished reading the threads. Seems like the problem was with Ryzen chips on Linux under heavy compilation loads.
I will be using Windows and video editing is the only taxing thing for the CPU that I would be doing.
gaming won't be that taxing as Vega 64 will be taking...
Hi,
So i am building a new PC after more than 10 yrs.
1) What is the function of the USB 2 and USB 3 headers on the MB, what things can be attached to them like AIO CPU water cooler etc.?
2) I am looking to build a Ryzen 7 1800x mATX form factor PC. If the motherboard and case have RGB Sync...
Hi,
I am looking to build a new PC.
Right now debating between going ITX vs mITX.
Current PC is Dell 8900 so I like the reasonable size.
I am looking at Ryzen 7 1800x and B350 motherboards.
I see many new MBs have RGB connector.
My question is does having a RGB connector mean it's RGB sync...
Hi,
Currently I have a dell XPS 8900 with mATX MB.
I like the size of the Dell.
New PC will have:
- Ryzen 7 2700x
- Compatible MB (either B350 or B450, 32GB RAM)
- Vega 64 ( might replace it with 1080ti in future)
- Seasonic 750W
- 2x SSD
PC will be used for light weekend gaming and video...
Very good point. Will try disabling cores in BIOS. Another thing I will need is 32GB RAM coz rendering and previewing videos while editing eat up a lot of RAM. 16GB feel like 4GB when I previewing stuff.
I still have the GTX 745, 1TB WD green lying around from when I purchased the Dell and a EVGA GS 550 Gold lying around that I was thinking of putting in the Dell PC before selling it.
No way I will sell that Vega 64, and SSDs with Dell .
Realistically i might get a few 100s for it. With core...
Hi,
My current PC is:
Dell XPS 8900
Core i7-6700 processor
16GB RAM
Vega 64 GPU
2x SSD= 1x 750GB (OS and programs), 1x 2TB (games and storage of stuff I am editing).
Seasonic 750W Gold PSU
Acer XR382CQK monitor
Now I am looking into Ryzen CPUs. From what I see they offer more a lot cores...
I missed the Seasonic Focus Plus 850W.
Got the Seasonic Focus Plus 750W today for $79 + $20 MIR.
Total cost coming out to $59 after rebate. No tax. Free shipping.
What's the difference between Seasonic:
Focus
Focus Plus
Prime
Prime Ultra
Also a 750W or 850W will only draw what's required right?
Pls let me know.
Thanks
I am looking at 750W seasonics too now. They seem to have lower fan noise around 20db compared to EVGA 35db.
Also what's funny is Seasonic website "which power supply u need" is telling me to get a platinum 550W after I put in all my PC components.
EVGA is telling me to get 550W Gold with all...
Ok thanks.
I am looking at the EVGA supernova 750W G2 gold+
I like EVGA silent mode when the fan didn't kick in at all during normal usage.
Will I be able to overclock using 750W. I am thinking of I am getting a new power supply it might as well be able to overclock the card. Keeping that...
Hi.
So I got the Vega 64.
Other specs
Core i7-6700
16GB RAM
SSD
My Current power supply is EVGA GS 550 Gold+.
The Vega 64 box says I need a 750W power supply :(
Using kill a Watt and playing FIFA, tomb raider 2003 the max power draw is 375-385W.
This was at resolution of 11520x1600 using...
Ya lucky for me I waited. The Sapphire silver Vega 64 Is $512 at newegg. I backordered, am willing to pay $12 more for the silver over black since I don't have to pay tax , although my casing doesn't have a window lol..... If they can't ship in next few days i'll cancel and get the black one for...
FYI Newegg is selling
ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 TURBO-GTX1080-8G 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5X PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card with
Destiny 2 and
Assassin's Creed origin for $499...
The 1070Ti is selling for around $440ish from Nvidia. I would recommend Vega 56 or 1070Ti.
Also u probably already know that fast processor and fast SSD help alot in video editing too. So look into those if you don't already have.
Thanks. That's exactly my school of thought.
I am going from 2x27" 1080p to 38" ultrawide. 34" didn't seem big enough in store. There isn't any 38" ultrawide G-sync on the market. I am guessing if we had one it would be around $1800.
Everyone here has told me to get Vega with Freesync monitor...
Unfortunately no monitor to my knowledge is 38" ultra wide with G-Sync. Even if there was it would cost something like $1800 coz G-Sync monitors have a hefty price.
Going from 2x27" 1080p monitor, 34" ultrawide didn't seen big enough when i saw it in store.
ok Guys I've decided to go with Acer XR382CQK (it has freesync).
Now do u guys recommend $499 Sapphire Vega 64 or should I get MSI GeForce GTX 1080 with free (Destiny 2) for $469 after MIR.
Let me know what u guys think.
Thanks
I was assuming that I wouldn't get tearing with 1080 since it's a pretty fast card. Thank you for clarifying this for me. The newegg MSI deal is a killer, only thing holding me back is freesync on Vega 64 for $499.
I see quiet a few ppl selling their codes on Ebay. They mention in their listing that as long as one has 1080/1080Ti they code will work for destiny 2 and their NVidia card.
The prices of 1080 and Vega 64 are under $500 which brings it closer to 56 and 1070Ti price. So am thinking about those 2 atm.
Do u think freesync advantage will matter if i end up getting the 1080, or is 1080 strong enough to make sure no tearing occurs?
Thanks.
Any idea how much tdp under load for both graphic cards. I know 1080 is 180 and Vega 64 is like 285 or close. Do u have any real world numbers.
Thanks.
