Looks like the 2700k is officially launched today. Intel retail recommended price is $332. 2600k price remains at $317. 15 more bucks for a much better chance to hit 5ghz... not bad at all.

If the average OC of the 2700k has improved to 5 ghz (up from 4.5-4.8 average of the 2600k), it's already an improvement. 2500k's hitting 5.2 certainly isn't the "norm."

It's not about needing it overclock to 5... it's about wanting it to. Realistically, the 2600k by itself is more than capable enough by itself without overclocking it. But since we like OC'ing, why wouldn't I want to buy something that overclocks more with the exact same cooling I would have...

Wow really... darn I thought the only game I might have trouble with was Metro at that res with 2 570's. Guess I'll have to add Crysis to that mini list since going 2 580's would be a little overkill for the res I'm aiming for. But I am curious about the microstuttering I've been hearing...

So I was planning to buy a new rig to prep for BF3, Diablo 3, Skyrim, etc... but I'm having quite a dilemma on the video card route I wanted to take. Since I wanted this rig to be able to max out any game at 1900x1200 while maintaining 60+ FPS... My choices now are... 1) EVGA 570...
