70C gaming sounds about right
its those nasty spikes I want to get rid of. also the occasional defender scan / file decompressing takes it right to 90C+ and sometimes reaches the throttle point
not for long though, R23 still scores above 30k.
Changed mine for noctua redux
Same performance but less noise
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/thermalright-peerless-assassin-120-se/2
even TH says it cant handle 230w load without throttling
maybe try a few R23 runs or prime95 small FFT?
yeah, when is it coming out!
after waiting so long im wondering if I should wait all the way to sea islands / maxwell
theyre supposed to be out buy years end are they not ?
Lets be realistic here.
It has double the meat (7.1M transistors vs 3.5M) vs 680 so 2x performance is possible. Granted, they would have a lot of driver reprogramming on their hands to maximize it.
Price of 899$ is realistic since GTX 680 is still 450$ and GTX 690 is 1k$. If you take...
I just got this screen as well and its pretty amazing, specially considering the price I paid for it. 240$ shipped and thats in Canada! You could probably get it even cheaper in the states.
as far as price/quality goes this is very hard to beat. And Mur is right about the ghosting on dark...
thanks mur I guess I found myself a new monitor!
was waiting for the ASUS VG27AH to see if it could do 75hz but its probably 500$+ and I cant find it anywhere else.
can you confirm ghosting is not too bad for games?
Any one knows how it does/where to buy it?
http://www.asus.com/Display/LCD_Monitors/VG27AH/
Apparently it's out since early october. Pretty nice FAST 27' IPS.
Hmm ... anybody test it?
Same for that LG guy : http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-Cinema-3D-D2743P-BN-27-3D-LED-Monitor-Full-HD-ISP-Free-EMS-/160857204726
Could do 75Hz that would be nice ...
As far as I know, there is only the ASUS VG23AH that is IPS and can do 72Hz with toasty's timings : http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1036906464&postcount=38
Any other IPS monitor can do that? Any 24-27 inchers? I'm not asking about VA's as they are typically slower, but if you know of some...
wow can't wait for this! been running on HD3000 for the past months and when I'm done Ep2 I'm going want some of that ME3 action!
too bad ATI totally discredited themselves with sucky drivers (was a 5970 owner) because their 28nm hardware looks pretty sweet. 50% over 580 would more or less...
NCIX has a 400$ MSI twin frozr gtx 580 : http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=58685&promoid=1146
would you guys jump on this or wait for GK104? Its supposed to be comparable but cheaper and cooler (28nm).
I just ... dont know :/ Running intel HD graphics now, finishing half-life 2 trilogy...
its the LE part so that explains it. should have researched more before pulling the trigger on this one, but I am still amazed how retarded it is you can't set manual voltage.
I mean its got 6 power phases instead of 16, I got it, its going to be less precise and stable, but I sould still be...
Hi,
I can't seem to understand whats happening with the voltage on this board. Even if I set the voltage manually, it always seem to be MUCH higher in windows vs what has been set in the BIOS. Even the base voltage on the left seems to vary according to whatever parameter (really?). For...
Impressive indeed.
say I owned a 5970 and have a very poor opinion of AMD drivers, would I be wise to wait for GTX 580 price drops? seeing how this piece performs/overclock, more than 400$ for a GTX 580 seems irrelevant.
I've been building PC for a long time.
I always tried to use Corsair memory when available.
Now they got PSUs, I do the same. Builder Series are an AWESOME value. Hx series are perfect for my own system though ;)
Cases are pretty good too! A bit pricey though, but quality is there...
