NCASE M1 picture and build general log

Debated on posting this to the main thread, and figured this might be better. It's not a V5 (it's a V3), and it's not amaze-balls powerful, but it's mine and I like it, and it does what I need it to and then some. Here's my Craigslist find (just the case) all dressed up, but first some specs...

    4690k 80c under load with Corsair H60

Just from my experience with an Antec Kuhler 620, the 120mm closed loop coolers get up to temperature really fast under heavy load. Unless you have really high quality fans on the radiator, eventually the fan(s) just can't remove heat fast enough. Temps shouldn't be as extreme under casual...

Would this setup be good for gaming?

That's pretty much the bigger version of the laptop I have with the same APU and I sit and play Diablo 3 at low/medium settings and Borderlands 2 at medium settings for a few hours at a time and its pretty stable. So long as it can breathe well it should stay pretty stable under load.

    When to upgrade?

If you can't fight the itch, just get a mini-ITX board and case that can support most of what you're running already. You can run your current setup (minus the motherboard obviously) inside of a Prodigy. It's not a complete upgrade, but at least it would be a smaller package.

    Question for BitFenix Prodigy owners

I've thought about doing it, and I'm pretty certain it would work with no modding (haven't checked to see if the screw holes would still match up), however, flipping the panels around would move the vented panel away from your video card. If you're water cooling, its not much of an issue, but if...

custom cooling a MITX prodigy, Complete noob to cooling.

The Linus Tech Tips guy did a pretty comprehensive Prodigy water cooled build, obviously a little different from what you're doing, but still gives you a pretty good idea of what you can squeeze into the Prodigy: http://youtu.be/_lNTEO4-yHs

    Bitfenix Prodigy Build Help Please

If you're not going to overclock, there's not much point in getting the K model or the Z77 board, or you could and then at least you'd have the ability if you ever decided you wanted to. I'm running a Corsair 430w in my Prodigy, and it'll run a 660Ti just fine, so I would assume you could get...

Questions on a potential first Loop

This is more of what I'm talking about: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/18789/ex-rad-487/Alphacool_NexXxoS_XT45_Full_Copper_Dual_180mm_Radiator.html?tl=g30c95s1551#blank A radiator that supports two 180mm cooling fans, which come stock in the Raven RV02.

Questions on a potential first Loop

In terms of reusability, I'm not too worried about that since I just got the case and have no plans of upgrading my case again anytime soon. I do understand that the 360mm radiators are more the standard, but I figured that the Air Penetrator fans that the case came with would work better with...

Questions on a potential first Loop

Hey Everyone, I'm considering building my first water cooling loop and I've got what should be simple questions, but would like more experienced answers on. I just recently rebuilt my machine in a Silverstone Raven RV02, and one of my biggest questions I've got at the moment is would I be...

MB Dilemma - new Haswell build

I've got the MSI Z87-GD65 and its been great so far. I haven't run into any issues with the Killer NIC, but I do hear that there isn't driver support for it on the Linux side, which isn't an issue for me since this is my gaming machine. I really can't think of anything bad about it. Just my two...

    gtx 680 sli question

From recent experience trying to SLI a 3gb 660Ti with a 2gb 660Ti, you will probably run into issues. I wouldn't even get an option in the nVidia Control Panel to enable SLI, only which card should be a dedicated PhysX card. I attempted to use an old method by enabling Coolbits, which allowed me...

    Can I SLI a 680 4gb card with a 2gb card?

From recent experience trying to SLI a 660Ti 2gb and a 660Ti 3gb card, you might actually run into some issues. From what I've found, nVidia has dropped support for varying memory amounts. Unless the 680s get special treatment, you might find yourself in a similar situation.

Bitfenix Prodigy - How does this Build look?

Unfortunately, it looks like the mesh front panels don't come in white, you get the soft touch white, or the soft touch white.... Not quite sure why BitFenix would cater toward the other cases more than another. I wanted to get the mesh for mine, but it's just not out there from the looks of it.

Need an itx AMD motherboard for the AMD A8-5600K Trinity

I would normally recommend MSI (I've had really great experiences with my current and last motherboard), but I've also been using the Intel variant of the Gigabyte board for a while now. The layout is great, the added Wifi works pretty well, and the color theme works pretty well regardless of...

    Heavy Servers

Usually for servers that were 2U, I would either just very carefully lift them on my own, or I would have to use the Buddy System. For those who bought Haswell. Was it what you expected?

I don't have any benchmark data, but just from personal experience, going from an FX-8120 build to an i5-4670k has actually been a pretty smooth transition. Between changing to the i5 and now having PCI 3.0 slots, I feel there's a relatively noticeable difference while gaming. I really didn't...

Bitfenix Prodigy - How does this Build look?

I used a 64gb SSD as a primary drive for a little over two years. Its totally possible as long as you're willing to be choosy about what goes on it. If OP moves the page file to the secondary hard drive, and then disables hibernation, that frees up a considerable chunk of drive space. If OP...

Final Fantasy VII now available on Steam

I was never a huge fan of FFVII (yeah I said it!), but I certainly agree with Hornet, hopefully they throw FFVIII on there at some point. Supposedly Sqenix is doing an HD Remake of it, so hopefully we see that in the near future.

    7850 Overclock results thread

I know I'm pretty late to the party on this one, but I picked up a Sapphire HD 7850 2gb edition recently. I know its not too impressive, but I was able to push it to 980mhz on the core and 1250mhz on the RAM pretty easily. I could probably push harder, but I'd probably have to take it out of my...

Bitfenix Prodigy - How does this Build look?

If you go for the Windowed side panel, perhaps consider getting fans for the front of the case to help move more air. The one 120mm fan included in the front just isn't enough. What color Prodigy are you getting? The white version doesn't have the mesh front panel, so there's not as much air...

Does Haswell use crappy TIM between the IHS and silicon?

As with most things, its mostly a matter of doing the research then taking your time with the execution. Yes, its easy enough to damage something if you just haphazardly attempt a potentially damaging process. I see where you're coming from, yes, it is a pricey piece of hardware, but I'm...
