These seem ridiculously cheap, and I am looking at picking up maybe 2-3 for an ESXi setup. I have a handful of 1TB SATA II drives sitting around, so the lack of included storage is not an issue...
Can anybody provide some insight into this? I have read in a few different places that running completely identical SATA controllers cards in the same machine will cause issues. I currently have a Vantec 4+1 (not exactly high-end), I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.
What would you guys advise? Are devices (mainly my iPad 2 and Latitude E6400) smart enough to pick 5GHz over 2.4GHz if both networks have the same SSID? Or should I make two separate SSID's for each?
Hey guys, I'm currently a sophomore at George Mason University here in VA and have an internship doing network administration for a local asset management company. I am studying for my B.S. in IT with a specialization in DB/software development. There is quite a bit of SQL and Java, though...
I have a 2600k build with a triple monitor setup (two GTS 450's) and an unused DVI out. Rather than getting an HTPC, I thought I would just hook the TV up to my main rig and set XBMC to display only on the TV. Has anybody done this before?

Hey everybody,
If I were to get something like this, would it literally be a matter of installing the card, connecting the drives, and then once I power back on they would show up in Disk Management?
Obviously there might be drivers to install if W7 doesn't have them built-in, but I'm not...
Is it possible to run an Untangle box with working OpenVPN functionality behind another router? Or does the Untangle box need to be internet-facing?
My setup is as follows:
Basically I am piggybacking off his Verizon-provided router's wireless connection. The landlord is an elderly gentleman...
Hi everybody, I'm currently a 19 year college student working part-time as a network administrator (I really love my job, the people are great and I'm the go-to IT guy on a lot of days). I currently have my CCNA, MCP, and MCTS, and am studying for my B.S. in I.T. and CCNP. The plan is ultimately...
Hey everybody, I just got my hands on a third monitor that matches my existing two, but my existing card (GTS 450) only has two DVI outputs. Could I just get a PCI card and add the third, or would only one work?
On that note, would a USB to DVI adapter work without lag? I don't game at all, I...
Hey guys,
I recently configured our SSG-350M and a test client machine with NCP's Juniper VPN Client. The tunnel will establish (and the client indicates it's connected), but the only host we can access and ping on the remote network is the firewall appliance itself (192.168.1.1). Internet...
Is it possible to monitor devices behind a regular consumer-grade router? I don't see how, as the outgoing traffic from the WAN port is NAT'd, and the source MAC is always going to be the MAC of the router's WAN interface.
I don't plan on violating any "one device per port" policies or...
Hi all,
I am having an issue where I cannot join Windows 7 Hyper-V guests to the domain. I have tried joining both VM and physical XP boxes (both work), as well as a few physical Windows 7 boxes which work fine as well.
Whenever I try to join the domain via FQDN, it prompts me for credentials...
