Questions about multi-display setup w/ 4k TV as monitor on a 780 Ti.

I currently have 3x1440p and a Samsung 1080p TV hooked up to my PC. The Samsung is through my old 780 Ti, since my 1080 Ti does not have HDMI. My ignorance on TV technology is staggering, but I had some pretty specific questions I was hoping someone with knowledge could answer. 1. Will my...

Complete hard shutdowns out of nowhere?

Yeah I've had a problem similar to this before, but it was disguised as a GPU issue. It was extremely annoying. Partly for that reason, and partly for the desire for white cabling and a full modular instead of half, I just went ahead and got a Supernova G3 1000W. I put it in earlier tonight...

Complete hard shutdowns out of nowhere?

Interesting note about the wall power... not sure how I could really test that elsewhere since it doesn't seem to crash quickly sometimes (it's gone for 2 hours before) and I can't really move my PC. I have lowered both GPUs power limits just to see if it makes any difference. Haven't crashed...

Complete hard shutdowns out of nowhere?

4770k, stock with Hyper 212 Evo (just installed) 1080 Ti Founder's 780 Ti (had to keep it for my Qnix, 1080 Ti FE has no DVI) 16 GB GSkill 3 SSDs, 1 internal storage drive, 2 externals 3x1440p displays Corsair HX850 etc. This setup has been fine for a while, the last thing I installed hardware...

1080ti Pre-order, Retail, and AIB availability watch

My Canada Computers has opened preorders for NV and AIB versions of the Founder Editions. No price, no date, but it's something. Hopefully they aren't too far behind that March 10th date.

Looking into upgrading, not sure if I can do what I want.

I'm going to get a 1080 Ti and also want to get some new monitors to go with it, but I am pretty ignorant when it comes to monitor stuff, I'm not sure if what I have can work with what I want. Currently have (780 Ti): 1x Qnix2710LED - Dual DVI only. 2x Syncmaster P2370 - Both panels only have a...

    Laptop speakers inexplicably stopped working

Well of course after I make this post, I hand the laptop back to my mom, she reboots it and the speakers work (yes I rebooted many times). So... who knows what the hell the problem was.

    Laptop speakers inexplicably stopped working

I consider myself a pretty computer savvy guy, but I am at a complete loss here. My mom has a laptop that she uses for basically Facebook and has had it for a while. We use it via HDMI to watch movies on the living room TV pretty often. When running Twitch streams in Source, it tends to go...

Can only use 1 or 3 monitors?

When I unplug the HDMI cable, the 2nd monitor stops being recognized by Windows. I went into the NV CP and it only shows my 1440 as an available display. When I plug it back in, all 3 work fine. EDIT: Will edit just in case anyone gets here from Google. I had to go into the Screen...

Can only use 1 or 3 monitors?

I run 3 monitors with a 780 Ti. One is Dual DVI (1440p), one is DVI, and one is using an HDMI to DVI cable (HDMI into the GPU). I unplugged just the HDMI cable to plug it into my Wii U and I lost the DVI monitor, it gave a no input signal. Is there some limitation I don't know about or way...

Is there a way to prevent games from lagging with video (Twitch/TY) fullscreen?

@Pora - Running all 3 from the Ti. My VI Hero has no internal graphics option. @Armenius - No, the window being open at all causes lag, not just fullscreen. @mrrogers747 - You know what, I've tried this before and it never seemed to help, but doing it just now it looks like that does solve...

Is there a way to prevent games from lagging with video (Twitch/TY) fullscreen?

I was really hoping that was the fix, but sadly it doesn't work. Even when watching through VLC, games will lag. The framerate counter in game doesn't change, but it gets choppy. I know that sounds ridiculous, but once I close VLC it is extremely noticeable how much smoother it gets. Was...

Is there a way to prevent games from lagging with video (Twitch/TY) fullscreen?

Man, that's depressing. All this hardware... can't watch video while gaming. Thanks for confirmation.

Is there a way to prevent games from lagging with video (Twitch/TY) fullscreen?

I run 3 monitors (1440 and 2x1080) and when running video on Twitch or YT fullscreen while a game is running, the game lags noticeably. Framerate doesn't drop that much, but it's very clearly causing unplayable lag. Is there a way to prevent or remedy this, or is it unavoidable?

Anyone have issues in Path of Exile?

RAM is stock. The only thing that leads me to believe it's not a bad OC is that I've played hundreds of hours in multiple other games with zero issues, seems weird that PoE would be one to cause a problem.

Anyone have issues in Path of Exile?

I have a 780 Ti @ +220 core. I have never had a crash or artifact or issue if any kind in any game. However, when I play Path of Exile, after some time, all 3 of my monitors will go grey with only the top 50 pixels or so being visible. My screens will flash and glitch out, though stuff is...

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

Just going to update this in case someone sees it from a Google or forum search and is having similar problems. I RMA'd my PSU and haven't had a crash or reboot since installing it, 4 days ago. I originally thought this problem stemmed from somewhere else, as I didn't think lockups without...

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

I don't think anything USB is the problem, as that only happens once I get to desktop after a hard reset, and even then only sometimes. Connected is: Das via PS2 but also via USB hub (Das keyboards have 2 ports in the side) Razer Naga 2014 Logitech G35s Logitech webcam Xbox Controller...

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

Alright so I finally managed to get another system lock (not reboot). Through all the testing I did today I had OCCTPT running, noticed nothing out of the ordinary at all, including once it had frozen. Interestingly, it seemed to only happen when I was actually playing CS:GO. To start I...

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

As far as I know the only software monitor for a PSU you can do is on the rails, and they all are well within where they should be. I've run benchmarks when I was originally OCing plenty, and I attributed all those crashes to bad OCs. Once my video card was down to +200 or so, I didn't crash...

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

I did not know that. I don't have another PSU to test, should I just RMA it outright (using the advanced RMA so I have no system downtime) or is it worthwhile to do what you said and test my system without the 780 Ti?
  22. S

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

Yeah, everything is stock. If it's a PSU problem why does it just lock sometimes instead of rebooting? Like I mentioned above it only reboots 1/5 times, the rest of the time the system just locks. Can a PSU cause those kinds of errors?
  23. S

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

I thought that may be the case, but it rarely actually reboots. I'd say it hard locks 4/5 times, and only reboots 1/5. It seems odd to me that a PSU issue could cause a system lock, with nothing powering down. When it locks, all fans/components continue running, nothing turns off. That's...

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

Yes, it did. Part of the reason I upgraded almost every component was each time I thought I was fixing this problem (PSU, then GPU, then Mobo/CPU/RAM). This is why I figure it has to have some connection with the parts that have remained the same, I just can't figure it out or find any clues...

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

I've looked with BlueScreenView and nothing is generated. I have to reset the computer to fix the problem, so no error is logged anywhere that I can see (BSOD logs, EventViewer). Going from Win 7 to Win 8.1 was a fresh install on the Toshiba. Even before switching to 8.1, I'd reinstalled 7...

Losing my mind with hard locks/sudden reboots

*Please read this whole post before replying. I've had this problem with my rig for half a year now, and I've had enough. If someone can help me figure out and solve this problem, I'm willing to compensate. PROBLEM: My computer will either hard lock or reboot itself, randomly, during gaming...

BSOD pointing to SSD/Memory, what should I try next?

I don't have one not in use, that's why I was going to make a partition for a test Windows install. You're right that it almost points to Windows more than the drive itself, I may try a straight reinstall first before trying to isolate the drive. I really wish I could recreate it more often...

BSOD pointing to SSD/Memory, what should I try next?

Toshibas have no firmware (that I've been able to find), and I've run Checkdisk with no errors. I've installed the chipset and AHCI drivers from Asus. All drives are on the Intel Z87 SATA ports. This mobo has some ASMedia ports, but I'm not using them.

BSOD pointing to SSD/Memory, what should I try next?

I've had two BSODs since I made this first post, just wanted to see if there's any more advice or if I should just go ahead and try not using the Toshiba at all by installing Windows elsewhere. Both times the error is the same, and BlueScreenView gives no 'caused by driver/address' entries...

BSOD pointing to SSD/Memory, what should I try next?

Yeah, I did a complete format of my C:\ (the Toshiba) when I installed my new hardware. Thank you for the clarification, I know partitioning is fine, but wasn't sure about how SSDs handle it or being able to remove the partition without data loss. I think I'll wait for one more BSOD so I...

BSOD pointing to SSD/Memory, what should I try next?

I recently upgraded my CPU, RAM and Mobo since I was on 3 year old hardware, but also because I was having random reboots and other really janky stuff (some USB ports on the mobo wouldn't work, pretty sure it was dying). Things looked fine and everything was smooth, I did some OCing but was...

Screen goes a solid colour and flickers, any ideas?

I'm using PrecisionX and have bumped it up the .75mv it allows, but it rarely ever hits the full 1.2v though, even at load. Temps stay around 73c max, and yeah 220 core and 200 mem. I'll try disabling the memory overclock, it's not really needed after all (i.e virtually no real world benefit)...

Screen goes a solid colour and flickers, any ideas?

I recently had some computer issues with my computer hard booting randomly and have since upgraded to what you see in the sig. Now that my computer doesn't crash I'm trying to dial in my GPU OC. I get straight crashes at +240 so I was on +230 for a day of gaming with no issues. However today...

Liquid spill causing keys to mute Windows?

A day or two ago a small amount of Rum ended up getting spilled on the top left of my Das. I wiped it up immediately and it seemed like little to no liquid even got below the keycaps. This morning I've noticed that my left CTRL, Tilde, F1, F2, Home, PG UP, and a few other keys are causing the...

Any way to force 3D clocks?

I'm using 331.82, none of the in game video options fix it. I also notice it does the same in Hearthstone, although that's kind of forgivable since it takes nothing to run. It just sits at 875 core instead of 1220. I'm playing at 1440 and have 2 other monitors, but I don't think that should...

Any way to force 3D clocks?

I'm playing in Windowed Fullscreen and it's already set to maximum performance. Vsync/adaptive is off. I've had the 780 Ti for a while, it works fine. It just doesn't automatically use 3D clocks in WoW for some reason.

Any way to force 3D clocks?

My 780 Ti won't go into 3D clock speed with Warcraft open, even when I'm sometimes getting 30 FPS (and 30% CPU usage). Is there any way to force 3D speeds at all times, or at least force it to use them in certain applications? I'm using a 780 Ti @ +200 Core and 2500k @ 4.2.

    New PSU, getting hard boots

I don't know if the plugs nearby are connected so I'm not sure I'd be able to test that. My wife's PC (beside this one on a diff. socket) has never had a problem nor did this one until recently. The mouse problem only has to do with a few select USB ports on the mobo. There are 1 or 2 that...

    New PSU, getting hard boots

I disabled anti surge support and still had 2 shutdowns just now during BF4 (both on the first map which is odd, usually it takes 2-3). I also moved the computer plug, which was going directly into the wall socket, onto the powerstrip (which is in the same wall socket, but the other hole), still...
