The Shuttle box is prettier. And it is very is easy to assemble. Only takes a few minutes. And some of us do not mind if stuff is a little expensive
Normally one would buy 1600 mhz RAM for a Z77 build. There will only be a very small performance gain ( hardly noticeable ) But they...
I know it has enough power to run high end gear. But I have read that it is a little noisy. And I already own a Seasonic 560 Watt from their X-series
I don't think there are any SFX power supplies that are good enough for an enthusiast build. Silverstone has the ST45SF-G, a 450 watt gold rated PSU. But is that good enough? I think I would prefer a bigger power supply where there is more choice to get a decent one. If there were more high end...
You should not target a specific size for the case. First you need to figure out exactly what hardware it should house. For example I would like two 2,5" inch drives and no optical drive. There needs to be place for a high end cpu cooler.
THEN you do everything possible to create the best SFF...
yeah I never really understood why anybody needs so much space. Actually I would say two 2,5" drives would be good. If you need more then get a NAS / external disk drive. Or simply don't go the mini ITX route.
What would it cost to get a professional to produce 1 unit?
It's risky business to order hundreds of cases. A lot of money is at stake. Are you sure you guys are ready for this?
I'm not sure if just a marketing hype from Asus. But their high end micro ATX motherboard the ASUS Maximus V Gene has "SupremeFX III" sound
The idea is to separate the sound from the rest of the motherboard. Signal to noise ratio is rated at 110dB.
My guess would be that Silverstone does not produce power supplies. They just order some parts from an OEM and put a sticker on it. That's actually very normal way of doing business.
If they had made their own I'm sure they would have optimized it for use in their Silverstone SG08 and...
Just found this case again. I REALLY like the front of this case. Industrial design divinity.
Cooler Master should make a small micro ATX case with better cooling in the same design and we would have a better world :-)
Can somebody post a picture with their Lian Li on a desktop next to a 24" monitor? I know the specs about how big it is, but I need something that my brain can understand :)
I'm having my holiday and I suddenly got a upgradetitis. Been thinking over upgrading WAY too long...:cool...
I'm thinking about putting it in a old loudspeaker. Do you think that would work? I'm a little bit worried about the air flow. What are your ideas to hide it?
I'm kind of lazy so I'm not sure if I really want to do it. Much easier just to get a more classy case design. I have the money for...
It's now finally available in Europe.
I actually better like the layout of the 354 model. But the 355 model is cheaper and smaller. What do you guys think?
Good to know Necere. I like that Silverstone is listening. I also like their focus on keeping the case small. But they really need to work on a cleaner design. They did a good job with SG08 so why did they ruin this one :(
Very nice design Necere
I think the front USB outlets should be at the bottom of the case
Perhaps they could hide the USB outlets like Shuttle does
deeplinked from http://www.motormice.com/reviews/SZ77R5/ Shuttle SZ77R5 review
I don't need total silence. I plan to get a mid - high gfx card with a good cooler. When you are for example 2 meters away from the computer and the computer is idle can you then still hear it ? But I guess it it difficult to answer as you say. We all have different opinions on noise
Can...
Are all your old shuttles still in working condition Simon?
I have a Shuttle ST20G5 from the year of 2005. I'm using a Athlon 64 3200+ which has 89 watt TDP. My graphics card is a very silent Radeon 5670.
Do you think a new SZ77R5 will make less noise? I've read a few people praising the...
There are also two french forums that are still a little bit active. One of the team members from the company is also answering questions. I read that they were preparing a ver 2 a long time ago. They have also lowered the price and put the "da box" on sale. But the is still no info on the...
Hi <orangensaft
Funny that you found my old thread. We almost share the same opinions on how the optimal case should be built.
I have now two more cases on my shopping list
Lian Li PC-V355
Fractal Design Node 304
The problem is that i have very high expectations for the case. So it it...
I really like it. The size for a mini ITX is a little on the big side though.
The design is very good. But I'm also from Scandinavia like Fractal is. Perhaps I have finally found a supplier that shares my thoughts.
Next step is is to wait for some reviews. Interested to know if their...
For me the design is very important. To me it looks the Taiwanese manufacturers are interested in one thing. And that is to save as much money as possible when designing their cases. Perhaps they don't even have hired industrial designers when they engineer their case. A big mistake if you ask...
I like the Q16, finally a case without optical drive slot :-)
The Q02 is the most interesting. It is extremely small only: 6,85 liter. The Q03 has a volume of 10,25 liter and the Q16 is 9,25 liter. So all of them are very small but the Q02 is something special. Perhaps something for the...
Computex is in two weeks ( June 5 -> 9 ) Then I think we will know more. Only problem is that products are often presented at trade shows but then they first show up in the shops several months later.
It's on Lian Li website now: http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=610&cl_index=1&sc_index=0&ss_index=0&g=spec
Found a Swedish shop that says it will be available mid July. Pricing is a bit better than the 354. With a volume of ~ 28,7 liter it is also a bit smaller than...
Well, it's 16.00 in Europe and there are still no reviews. OBR-hardware has pulled the counter when the NDA will be lifted.
But I have found something else. On Intels site http://www.intc.com/events.cfm it' says 9 o clock in the morning Pacific time is the official launch time. That's 18.00...
2879 Danish kroner is £317 or $511
In this shop It is priced around 17% higher than the Shuttle SZ68R5 . That's quite a lot if you ask me.
Remember that Denmark has one of the highest sales tax ( VAT ) in the world at a rate of 25%. Right now this shop is the only shop with supplies. In a...
It is now available in Europe. Well at least my local computer store has 4 units on stock. Price is still a little on the high side though.
Seems that Shuttle finally has learned to ship hardware on the right time.
Shuttle Z77R5 get's unboxed by LinusTechTips

via http://twitter.com/#!/shuttle_europe/
I think this means we might actually very soon be able to buy one. Last time he unboxed the SZ68R5 we had retail availability ~ 3 weeks later in Europe...
Nice photos jwhazel, I'm impressed. Even if you need a optical drive I think you should just buy an external drive. You risk ruining your great design with an optical drive if you ask me. A solution could be to hide the optical drive somehow. But that's your call
I also have the V354 and the...
I've read a thread about the Silverstone SGO8 and there is a user "<orangensaft" that has some wishes for a SG09
----------------------------------------
- no ODD
- no 3,5'' Drive
- can fit two 2,5'' Drives (SSD&HDD)
- can fit a ATX PSU
- can fit a GTX 580
- can fit something like a...
Those who think April is the true release date will be disappointed. If we are lucky the might do a paper launch. One could argue that has already happened at the CeBIT trade show
True retail availability for Shuttle is usually 6 months later than a new chipset is released. This would mean...
