MSI Big Bang XPower II Motherboard Review @ [H]

Recently purchased this board for a new build. I'm curious to know why instead of providing the normal PCB SLI bridge, MSI provide two short and one long SLI bridge? The PCB bridges look so much neater.

    Cooler Master Cosmos II

Recently bought a Cosmos 2 for a LGA 2011 build. Case arrived in perfect condition, so no complaints there. However one thing surprised me, that despite the seemingly strong and sturdy construction of the steel "inner case", the roof panel with the fan cut-outs seems rather flimsy. This is...

    Cooler Master Cosmos II

@ WorldExclusive, The black powder coat on the interior of your Z70B is a huge improvement over the stock aluminium finish - Lian LI should offer this as an option. Still not seen a Cosmos 2 for real - retailers in the Czech Republic say they will have stock next week, but none have showroom...

    Cooler Master Cosmos II

It seems from the various forum posts from new owners of this case that the plastic trim/bezel/skirt of the case seems quite vulnerable to damage in transit. Whether or not this is a design/materials glitch or heavy-handed courier handling is hard to say. Other reviews say the build quality is...

    Cooler Master Cosmos II

A quick question to new Cosmos 2 owners. The two hot swap 3.5" bays, do these support SATAIII or are they just SATAII? This information doesn't appear to be stated on the Cosmos 2 micro-site, or in the user manual (downloadable version). Thanks for any info on this subject, I'm seriously...

MSI N580GTX Lightning XE 3GB Video Card Review @ [H]

@ Ketzer, I run two GTX580 XE cards with one slot spacing on an Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z motherboard. No issues to report, top card hits around 73°C in BF3 at 2560 x 1440 resolution on "ultra" settings, bottom card is around 63°. However, it's just not possible to put these cards next to each...

    New Silverstone FT02

Sorry to hear that. I'm still trying to convince my retailer that the paint chips were not caused by user mishandling. Having to strip down the rig too wasn't much fun either. @ burningrave101 - yes, the windowed side panel corners are where the chips are. I have my PC to the left of my...

    New Silverstone FT02

I received a response from Silverstone support, based in Germany. They advised me to take my case to the place of purchase and initiate RMA. The problem will be persuading them that the chipping was not caused by rough handling, but that there is an actual paint defect.

    New Silverstone FT02

@ Kisakuku, Seeing pictures of other FT02's in this thread makes it clear to me that my example has some sort of paint defect. My RV02 Evo has no such problems and is around a year old. I've written to Silverstone outlining the problem and are awaiting their response. One of the reasons I...

    New Silverstone FT02

Anybody else found the side panels of this case very prone to chipping, despite careful handling? Seem to remember a few posts where the special edition (red interior) FT02 had this issue. I treat my case with care, and don't remove the panels often (mainly to clean the filters), but the...

Battlefield 3 Open Beta Performance and Image Quality @ [H]

I played the Caspian Border map throughout the last weekend of the beta at 2560x1440. Most of the time the game was smooth, but during intensive action sequences I did notice some slow downs. Unfortunately, I was too engaged in the action to bother to take any FPS or VRAM results:) However, I...

MSI N580GTX Lightning XE 3GB Video Card Review @ [H]

An opportunity has arisen to purchase the Lightning XE at a favorable price. One thing that I'm not clear on though whether this card will fit into a Silverstone FT02 with AP181 fans without any modifications. I've only seen a few fuzzy pics of this combination, which have not made it clear if...

    New Silverstone FT02

@ NeoDiNardo, Thanks for your advice. I have the opportunity to purchase the MSI GTX580 Lightning XE, but it seems that length wise it's a tight fit in the FT02. My case is a later one with the AP181 fans and the GPU clearance is stated as being as 12.2". The MSI Lightning XE is 305 mm...

    New Silverstone FT02

Long time reader of this forum, particularly this thread, Recently picked up a FT02 for my latest build. Great case and although I was expecting the tight cable management at the back, I was surprised by just how little room there is back there. I'm using the pictures posted in this thread as a...
