I’ve used a mono price 32” 4k for the better part of a year at work. 32 is the smallest I’d ever use for 4k (run 100% scaling). Tried 27 4k and the text was too small (I had to run 100% scaling for my work application). The 32 was a nice size, but the monitor itself sucked from an ergonomics...
Title says it all. I don’t game much at all. Looking for a good monitor for office work. I really like the kvm functionality as this monitor will support two different computers...one USB-c, the other via DisplayPort. From what I can tell, the U3818DW was released in 2018, and it sounds like...
The Monoprice 32” 4k is worth considering. I bought one as a daily driver for work. I do not need to use scaling. Claims to be IPS and is $400. I found the 27” 4k to be too hard to use every day without scaling for intensive spreadsheet and sql usage. The 32 is a nice increase in usability...
Not a regular poster on here, but I do check in often to read up on the latest in 4k screens. I have tried a number of 4k monitors over the past couple of years and finally found one worth keeping.
First, I am using this in my office, so no gaming. I use one particular application for supply...
Absolutely! I bought one to try out. Not going to lie...mine is going back because it is too small for me, but your mileage may vary...give it a shot, you've got nothing to lose.
Went out to BestBuy and bought a 27" LG 27UD69P to try this out. I like to keep my head about 24" from the screen. I will be returning this monitor. The text at 100% scaling is just a bit too small. I know I can bump up the scaling a bit...125% actually looks pretty damn good to me...but as...
Huge thanks to everyone who has commented.
because this if for my wife's new biz, I think I'm going to start out with a synology box. I know I will be her tech support for a while, so I want to keep it Uber easy.
Thanks again
Hey there...looking for advice.
My wife is starting a photography studio which will include a couple of Macbooks a Mac mini, and a windows 10 laptop.
The macbooks will be used to retouch images, the mini will be used for displaying images to clients, and the windows machine will be my wifes...
I'm probably the only one here who will have anything positive to say about the apple routers I've got. I bought them all second hand after being disappointed with Belkin and netgear. Perhaps I picked up some weird model routers before I went apple...but once I had the apple routers in place...
I had the 40" Philips. I dont game...but for general every day use the lag that the 40 had (for me) was totally acceptable. Actually, I did not even notice it.
Get a crescent wrench, no teeth, and give the stand a little twist. It will bend. Or, give the mounting plate, the part that goes between the monitor and the stand a slight bend
Thanks for this. I had my eyeballs just about centered on the screen. It was weird, within 5 minutes I could feel something wasn't right. Regardless, monitor has been shipped back already.
I am assuming the color banding issues were acceptable to you? They were so subtle to me.
Good...
I will be returning mine. I got it from Amazon (US) for the regular price to replace my ACD27 LED. Hooked it up to by GTX670, set to displayport 1.2, proceeded to disable just about everything I could, and then calibrated using a Spyder4Pro. I am returning the Philips for two reasons: First...
Quick question for everyone here.
I'm currently rocking a GTX670...will I be able to get 4k/60hz over Displayport to drive this monitor? From what I have read between this thread and the monster Samsung thread, it sounds like I will. I don't game, but do a lot of PS and CAD and would love...
I have to wonder if, for a non-gamer, that currently does a lot of encoding using QSV, if sky lake is right for me? I do some CAD and photo editing so going 4k will happen this year...but would a 5960 actually be a better option (cheaper) versus 6700+video card.
I don't usually see...
Hi there,
Currently running a 2500-k and started to do a lot of 1080p encoding. With my current handbrake settings I get about 40 FPS going from 25GB MKV to 8GB MP4. I process about 8 hours of video each week. I have found that the current settings give me the best in terms of quality and...
Anyone have any experience that they can share with PCIE card based drives? I keep seeing the OCZ revodrive popping up for similar-to-SSD Prices and was ruinous about them. Some of the reviews point out that they run quite a bit faster than even the best SSDs.
The ACD is a gorgeous monitor and it is nice that it has decent speakers and a webcam all built in, and a USB hub. But at he end of the day it was still $900, and that was a lot of money. If I were to do it again I would look real hard at the $400 options. You could buy 2 for the same money...
Check this item out. Let's you run 2 inputs to the ACD. I just added this to my setup to switch between the hackintosh and my work laptop.

This, plus figure there are $20 rebates and you can sell borderlands and dro another $30 making the 670 roughly $310.
Sure it may not the the best 670 out there, but it should oc to a further level than a 660 will given similar costs.

Saw this on slick deals and wanted to pass this along as it is a great price for a 670.
Qualifies for Borderlands 2
Amazon just matched the price.
Plus there's a...
