if select picture format ' 1:1 ' then you get 1080p as real resolution but if select ' Wide Screen' then you get fullscreen. ( its just stretch picture to fit whole screen)

i don't that problem on mine. ( i am using SmartUniformity mode atm too ) its seem that you don't have much luck on monitors you bought.

few of my old monitors before this one were PWM and i did not even know it. i got no problem with PWM so far. i have been using this monitor 8hrs non stop daily for a week..
I got LG 21:9 curved which its PWM free but i could not tell the different between the 2.

I know some credit card company will cover this kind of thing when the retailers won't do it. if you pay with credit card then it worth a shot to contact them too.

another thing i wonder about this monitor as many sites state that this monitor is IPS-AHVA
is this the same thing as normal VA ? as far as i know its different panel ?
you can see in Phillips spec sheet ( page 16 ) of this monitor saying that this is IPS-AHVA...
your one maximum weight support is seem to be quite low at 10kg
this Ergotron MX is better at 13.6kg http://www.ergotron.com/tabid/65/PRDID/56/default.aspx
and same one as MrGrumpie Ergotron Neo Flex is a little more at 16.3kg...
possibly the Phillips run at 30hz via DP from Mac book thats why number results are high. but i am not a teach guy that just my guess

it sound odd to to hear that the screen is aspect ratio that is not exactly 16:9 but closer to 20:11 (it is 4 mm wider and 7 mm shorter ) and the contents showing on monitor will be stretch 1.77% due to the wider side than usual 16:9
