Well as the title states above!
Firstly I have to honestly say that I don't actually have any high end DACs, amps or anything. I'm merely running some Z-2300s straight to my onboard and I've got a pair of M50s for late night gaming/music.
I'm just wondering do cheap (or even expensive...
Actually, no. Spend as much as possible on headphones and as little as possible on a amp/dac as those offer the least possible "improvement" in sound. Unless the output impedence is very high, from the RMAA graphs (and my own ears) realtek is completely satisfactory but has a slight fuzz to it...
I've been turning off the power switch for 6 years or so now. All good, never once had any crap. Yeah the motherboard needs constant power. Its called the CMOS battery :P I always turn off from the wall once I shut down.
I've got a P8Z68 V Pro and I don't see any atkexcomsvc service :O
Maybe its only for P67.. which is weird as hell. Anyhow my AI suite works perfectly fine, really handy too, adjust OCs and test em in windows.
Then why don't you get a 990x. Power consumption: price of 8150 245$-270$+ 60$ from power = obvious fail, might as well get a 2600k instead. That is why everyone is talking about power consumption.
I'd disagree. My M50's are better. The samons may have a better soundstage due to them being semi open, however i prefer the sound of my M50s always haha. The difference is slight mind you.
Well I've picked up a pair of ATH-M50's and I'm wondering, as the title says, if its worth getting a sound card. They don't really need more powerful amplification (my phone drives them to ear killing levels, same with onboard) and I'm wondering if I'll hear a improvement in audio with a sound...
Lol sorry, didn't really summarise it properly in my first post. They're saying it'll be incompatible with ivy bridge due to some defect or flaw or something or rather with current UEFI bios, and will require a reflash at the factory to fix this.
I'm not sure how true any of this is though.
http://vr-zone.com/articles/the-upgrade-path-to-ivy-bridge-might-be-blocked-by-changes-to-uefi/13513.html
Well, basically article says that due to UEFI bios, ivy bridge won't be supported on p67 or z68 motherboards unless they're sent back to the factory for a reflash there...
What are...
Late reply, but forum posts don't count that much. The way it is, ASUS makes more (A LOT MORE) mobos than MSI, so you'll definitely see more threads. I think ASUS makes more than gigabyte too. Though you may be right considering ASUS just launched a rev 3.1 of the P8P67 Pro and the original one...
Higher failure rate? Really? Can you link me? Though I've heard reports of the MSI boards actually being killed and stuck in a boot cycle by bad overclocks (primary and secondary bios doesn't activate, boot doesn't even get that far) and some QC issues with the RAM slots.
Well I'm just wondering, do you guys think/or have experienced a bios flash on my P8Z68 V. Pro will improve my overclocking performance?
I'm currently on the pre-release bios (0221) >.> and I'm thinking about going to the beta bios however I've had no problems with the pre-release so far.
Page 2:
"The first thing we are going to look at with the In Win Commander II 12000W is its packaging, accessories, and documentation"
Arc welding PSUs ftw.
Raja, or anyone, I'm just wondering, do the later bioses for the Z68 V. Pro improve overclocking performance/scaling with voltage?
Right now I'm on the pre-release bios 0221 (dodgy shop >.>) and its perfectly fine, and I've never flashed before so I don't want to risk my motherboard to a...
Woo, new build though I barely get to use it yet ._.
2600k
Thermalright Silver Arrow (may need to remount :( getting like 5 degrees higher than expected)
NZXT Phantom
ASUS P8Z68 V. Pro
OCZ Agility 3 120GB - boot drive (durr :D)
WD Caviar Black 2TB
8GB G.skill 1600mhz
Corsair HX 850...
Intel thermal compound is actually really good, beats Prolimatech and Gelid stuff according to hardware secrets, just saying.
Not too sure about that cooler though ;)
Also I read the manual (YES I READ THE MANUAL O.O)
Says the cooler has lead in it T_T
'Inte’s Quick Sync is untouchable though. It’s 48% faster than NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 460 and 71% faster than the Radeon HD 6970. " -Straight from anandtech. Also lol @ spelling mistake
To put it simply. Quicksync should own your 6970...
Well, like the title says.
I'm too pansy to go buy a multimeter and solder vcheck points onto my board so, I have to use software :P
Its my first time overclocking and right now I'm trying for as little voltages as possible and I'm worried CPU-Z HWInfo may or may not be giving incorrect...
Hi.
My board came with bios revision 0221 (pre-release bios >.>) and so far I'm not having any problems whatsoever.
But I'm wondering if revision 501 will improve overclocking performance and reduce voltages required and etc.
Anyways, does anyone know if revision 501 add any changes such as...
I read somewhere ASUS made more motherboards than MSI and gigabyte combined and is the largest mobo manafacturer in the world. Not sure how true that is but I would think so.
And about MSI, they seem really solid however there have been issues of a boot loops, ram incompatibility and the...
Well I tried high LLC, a bit too much extra voltage for my liking based on CPUZ so I pushed it down to regular. So far, 4.3Ghz at 1.2v prime stable! (Only been like 30 mins though, big improvement over rounding error after 5 mins though)
Oops haven't tried that, will tell results when I get back to my comp but so far 1.192 at 4.3 IS NOT prime stable.
Oh and should I mess around with LLC?
Well, I'm trying to do 4.3ghz (2600k) at around 1.2-1.208 volts with both speedstep and c1e enabled and LinX keeps giving me stop errors after exactly 3 mins and 12 seconds every time.
The usual thing pops up indicating GFLOPS rating and all that for 1 iteration but a few seconds after it...
Okay, its still clicking regularly like 6-12 seconds, but the load/unload is at 22... I'm pretty sure I've heard more than 22 clicks...
22 is more like the number of times I've restarted my computer so far....
