I'm using two cases that have vertical USB ports (NZXT Phantom & NZXT H230) and i'm constantly plugging and unplugging USB thumb drives and external hard drives into them for over 4 years now and never had a problem with them.

I've received quite a few negative comments for this, but it has worked for me for 4 years now with no problems, and hasn't hurt my carpet any.

Well My Fellow NZXT Fans What Can I Say..... After A Very Nice Phantom Build, I Moved On To Building My Gaming Rig. But I Made The Mistake Of Not Using Another NZXT case. But Finally After A Year And Thanks To A Friend That Has Changed... Im In The Process Of Moving Over My Stuff From The Other...

Im using a used Asus P8H67-M EVO, Intel G530, 4GB DDR3 1333 Ripjaws, WD 2TB Green, for my HTPC and it plays 1080p with the on board graphics without a problem and its really quiet too, and all for under $375, but thats just me.

Same setup and same old crappy glass desk. Hopefully here soon ill have my custom desk finished.

Here's an updated pic. Just found out that NZXT has some new fans out, the FZ series. Going to take out the XIGMATEK 140mm and replace it with the new red FZ-140MM LED along with 3 red FZ-120MM LED fans that will replace the 3 stock 120mm non LED fans.

OK finally after a month or so I found some LEDs to use in my fan controller. After searching I found 2 other people that did this mod but would not give any info on the LEDs they used. Did a little poking around on the controller bored and came with the closest LEDs i could get. 3mm 3v Low...

Received some more parts for the phantom today. A XIGMATEK 140mm Red LED Fan, WD 500gb black main drive and a WD 2tb black storage drive .

I thought about doing that before sitting the phantom on the bored, but than i got to thinking about the possibility of sucking up extra carpet lint and dust. As you can see in the pic's its not easy to get a vacuum in the corner......... I might just go ahead and do it.

Ok, I ran into a problem. Since the phantom's power supply intakes from them bottom of the case i couldn't put it on the floor because of the carpet, but the case is to tall to sit on the desk (or at least it is for me) My desk came with a little metal plate for a case to sit on but it was WAY...
