So I did some investigating on the pyro case and found a write up that he had posted elsewhere. Again this is not my case and Im not trying to take credit for it. Just wanted to share some photos I had found. Id still love to see a full write up on this project though.
My company has started testing some usb KVM's and we're starting to come to the conclusion that they all suck. We need one that switches quickly and has a simple hotkey. All of the ones that we've played with up until now, have complicated hotkeys, and take 10-20 seconds to switch over...
Yeah, I was looking at synergy, but unfortunately thats not an option. One of the PC's is corporate network, which we can not add ANY software too. Is that the only option?
If so, what normal KVMs do you guys recommend, we need one that is fairly easy to switch, we currently have to hit...
Where I work we each have to computers. Each computer has its own monitor, but we would like to split the keyboard and mouse between them. We currently just use regular KVM's to do the job, but we need to switch to usb so they are buying new ones. My question is, Do they make a "KVM" that...
Yeah, Theyre forcing large cable companies to go digital. Something about the RF signal leakage from the lines on the pole. Apparently the FCC monitors rf, and will actually fly over cable companies and scan for leakage.
Hello, the company that I work for came to me asking me about setting up some super small linux boxs to set throughout the network to use as monitoring box's. They need to have dual lan on them and thats about it. Does anyone have experience with this tiny machines that can recommend a good one?
Hey everyone I need an application that gives me telnet connectivity but yet also features a built in ping plotter or even ping utility. So that I can monitor the terminals connection while logged in. currently I have putty and pingplotter both running at once, but its to much hastle...

Hey dinted can, check that site, its been a life saver for me.
I actually downloaded a copy on Endian, and was looking in to it, but I dont like the idea of having a full sized computer running all the time. I'd love to run endian, but Im working with minimum rack space, and Im trying to be thrifty with the electric bill. Are there any small systems out...
So Ive decided that I need a new router, I want something small but powerful, I want all the latest features, all the bells, all the whistles. I dont necessarily need wireless connectivity. Ive been doing a little ressearch, and I like the idea of hacking a linksys for dd-wrt or even building a...
no matter what you do, your wireless connection will create lag. especially if you encrypt it. I recommend you hardwire, even if you have to run a 100' ft ethernet cord down the hall
Good news, I unplugged my dvdrw and cdrw and things have been going well. Ive run Burn in test like 6 times already with no errors, no crashes. So Im assumming either one of my cd drives died or I have a bad IDE cable and possibly when I moved the fan back to the way it was I bumped the cable/
And to think of it, it wasnt detecting that drive on boot either, could the heat have killed my cdrom drive? Or is it more likely that it smoked my IDE controller  ?
Ram, was my first thought,So I ran it for hours with memtest 86+ with no errors. which thats another thing, itll run safe mode no issues, and itll run memtest with no issues too
ok, My case is the Superlanboy, I had 2 120mm Yate loons blowing in, one in front, one in the rear just next to the CPU. My Power supply which was exhausting, also has a 120mm fan in it as well with selectable speeds which where on high.
My best guess is that the fan that was directly...
So I had been reading on the forums about this "positive pressure Idea". The one that if you have more air coming in than going out of your case, it would stay relatively "dust free". Well I tried it, and it totally worked, my case is completely dust free now, because it no longer works. :(...
Well the crawlspace is the size of the house and its deep enough to where I can squat and get around in it, the floor is covered in plastic, and its dry, very dry. To the point where I think a hygrometers going to be needed so that I can make sure its not too dry.its a constant 65 degrees down...
To put a pc in my crawlspace? My house is cramped, already 88+ degrees from the 2 machines I have running now, and I would like to add a server. My problem though, is that I have no basement, not closet to hide it in, frankly I dont have any place that I could hide a server.
So my...
Hello everyone, I have a 1u Rackmount server chassis, w/250watt power supply that I dont need anymore.
things I am looking for:
Any very small pc (P3 or greater)
Antec SOLO series case ( will chip in some cash as well)
Possibly a newer 500watt Power suppy
whatever else you have I may...
so theres no reason I couldnt have my mobo pushing three 120's? Because that is what I would trully like to have running, letting my bios control my fans rpms, so I never have to worry about it, and so that its quite in here when my pc is at idle
one of which is the cpu's fan? well whats the...
Yeah I read something about how the 120mm fans drawl more amperage and that if your motherboard cant handle what its drawling it could potentially "burn out the power rail". So if thats not the case then I could " in theory" plug these fans into my motherboard and be ok?
Hello, I currently am running three 120 mm fans in my case (superlanboy) and it is obnoxiuosly loud. I want to quiet this thing up, I just dont knwo where to start. I would love to have the mobo regulate the fan speeds as the machine heats up, but Ive been told countless time that running 120's...
Hey my 17inch kds flat panel has recently started acting up. when using it the screen will randomly freeze, then the picture will turn funky colors and fade out to a black screen, if I unplug it for a day or so then plug it back it, itll work for another 10 minutes - 3months. then itll do ti...
