I am ready to build my home server and I have the following "spare parts". I am looking for advice on what combination to use for a home file and media server. Whatever I don't use will go towards rebuilding my HTPC.

I have that exact motherboard and a A8 5600k in a couple of systems (thanks to AMD, Gigabyte and Kingston for the swag at the AMD Fan Appreciation Day in Austin) and they run great and have no problem with 1080P blu-rays and MKVs.

I agree with you aero449. If the reviewer would have spent a few minutes looking at Lian Li's website for the case he would have noticed he had the drive mount brackets on the wrong side of the cable management column. This oversight pushed the drives further away from the cable management...
At the end of the event some of us walked by the tourney area and asked if we could have a set, and the tourney coordinator said "Sure, take one". Got home and used them for the next 4 hours. Absolutely amazing the way the sponsors gave back to the community.

I just picked up the Bitfenix Shinobi and I am very happy with this case for the money.
Here is review showing it with a GTX 590 so you should have room for your 6950.
